Erm... Mid-Game Steve doesn't have an experience or strength advantage here, and the coin machine gun wasn't designed to kill people; it was designed to overwhelm them.

where'd you get those numbers from? Layton is superior to people who are superior to people who can tank that

and I'm fairly certain that the Detra Gigant's drill is stronger than that, which Layton doesn't take any meaningful damage from
