So we went through GK's ap is lower than Grimm=Grimm, to GK is far above Grimm.
Wonder if the Sekime would allow GK to glare away Grimm despite being non-existent, wouldn't be surprised.

Golden King back to Tier 5 again, if not higher lol.
I remember this guy was distinctively Tier 5 too at one point. Then he got downgraded, then new info comes in and he back up to it lol.
What a time of a turn around xD
Edit: Sidenote, I got another anthology story down. Four of them done now, in fact. The last two I did it in a day each xD.
Just one more and I should have the Anthology story back up by the weekend.
It's also interesting how the Anthology really brings up Tesla and GK too, if not subtlely for the ones where they're not involved or if they do show up, it's not really the main focus until Sakurai's part of the story. Also doing them in order gives better clarity of events as well instead of me doing it in disorder.

And probably? We know GK's glare can affect non-physical stuff, including Critters. And Grimm was at least of the same nature as them (+ Kikai) and then some with the non-existence thing.
Though if not that glare, the branch hands should do it since they were doing more damage to Tesla than his glare did even after hitting Ultarathotep.

Good news!
I got the Gahkthun Novel Anthology back up on there again, now more cleaner and HOPEFULLY not me missing anything that I did the first time I did years ago.
Now with it, we have better context of the stuff that was on there, and with me having reviewed the book and it's stories again, there was certainly stuff that I didn't remember ever seeing but now they're all there...surely xD
With that, I'm taking a break from WAB/Steampunk TL stuff. And have to unwind for a while lol.

Having reviewed the novel back, it's funny how since the 2nd story (Moonshine), you've got the Art students have names like Weapon X, Hawkeye, Silver Samurai, Gambit, Storm, Beast, Archangel, Cyclops, and Quicksilver. These are legit names from chars from the X Men franchise of Marvel lol. Then you got some DC character names thrown in too like Man of Steel/Superman and even Cat Woman one time. Hell, Flash was namedropped too in the Shining League story.
The authors really went in on the comic book name char stuff just like how Sakurai already be using stuff from IRL people to fictional story chars and even Cthulhu Mythos xD.

As things are with what we're doing, we had some interesting stuff about the characters from both the main story/game and the ones who appear in the novel itself.
Josephine (Jo):
She's an Art Student and member of the Governing Council who was stated in the narration as having the greatest physical power/strength among the Governing Council back in 1906 (2 yrs pre main Gahkthun story)--
Jo's Art also allows her to grant someone a stat boost as she did this for JJ in the same story incident, which she already shows in the main story but consistency is nice.
Walther Ritz:
MAYBE something supportive at best, but he and Jo were sent in to assist the Disciplinary Police in raiding the Dropout District, who were being at and stuff. I say MAYBE, at least for Walther cuz while they say bullets, it could be the same as the main antag's gun that was shooting sub-sonic rounds.
Bunch of stuff in Prelude story:
We got Jean Daspry, the MC of this story getting his stuff kicked in by three members of the Governing Council (Lafcadio, Amelia, and Paul), at the time when Nightengale and Wilhelm were also part of its group but weren't a part of this fight. One notable thing he did here was getting hit by a whip made of Cracking light )(from Amelia) and dodging an optic blast from Lafcadio (DK if this really scales to anyone tbh + this was done at an unknown distance between the two so it could be relativistic or FTL even but no details made). Interesting thing even is members of the Governing Council are meant to be strong even if they lost their Art.
Nightengale's ability to heal via her Art (About Low range of healing. Maybe Mid-Low or higher since it's Cracking but who knows)
Back to Daspry, an even more interesting thing with him is his Art isn't even a combat-focused one but a supplementary type, yet it's with it that he apparently can get off fine fighting against the elites of the student body that is the Governing Council. Maybe there's some trick to it but IDK. Or maybe having an Art means you just become superhuman to some extent.

Moran fell to the floor after being hit with a high-speed body from JJ, hitting the stone-hard floor of the warehouse by the powerful charge.
"Damn it...you...you were hiding such an Art...?"
"Don't be stupid. If I had it, such a thing like this wouldn't happen."

"Just now, was that of your own doing?"
His movements at the time were clearly that of an Art, and there was no one else who could have pulled off such a thing.

The emergency Disciplinary Police were fully armed and rushed into the Dropot District, but their path was blocked by fierce resistance from the Illegals who came in from everywhere. Bullets rained down on them, and it appeared at first that they were at a loss of progress.
However, the two who arrived there were Josephine March and Walther Ritz. By utilizing their extraordinary shocking power, they were able to secure a clear path to here. Truly that of a lightning-fast rush.
Even now, Walther Ritz was surely still running around through the entirety of the Dropout District, taking down Illegals and Art students one by one.

Seeing this, Hearn removes his left eyepatch, emitting green cracking light that took the form of a giant arm.
Spriggan, the Art of the ruling Chairman Cyclops, Lafcadio Hearn, seized Daspry's body that was flying in the air and slams him down as though he were an enemy of Gauguin's.
"Dammit...the tempered blade has reached its limit."
Though he managed to stay passive, his face contorted from the stock that shattered every bone in his body. After that, fierce attacks were carried onto his body one after another.

Aiming for the direction where the voice came from, the Archangel's six light wings joined together one after another, forming a gigantic whip that struck Daspry on the side. There was a solid response yet despite spitting blood from his mouth, Daspry still smiles playfully.
He then dodges to the side from a green optic blast from Cyclops that was aiming for him.

However, the title of being at the top of the hundred thousand students wasn't just for show.
"You're wide open, Daspry!"
Gauguin lets out a fierce cry and rushes towards Daspry with the force of a cannonball. Even if he couldn't use his Art, he could still use CQC--is what he judged.
The slender man was blown away without a hitch, rolling across the floor with a huge thud. He was likely hit square in the face when he landed, as blood trickled down the lower half of Daspry's face.

Soft Cracking Light moved all over his body as if they were caressing it, which was literally like a rag that was covered in bruises and scars, and was healing the damaged parts.

That was my Art, Nemo. A mimic ability that shows the other the image you want to show to them. This was made perfect for my originally possessed skills I had for disguising and acting.
However, that very same ability was also my Art's greatest weakness.
"To show the other person the way I want to show myself."--in other words, it reflected my desire for the person I fall in love with to know the real me. When she heard my explanation, she was impressed.

We're clearly shown here that his possession by the Hounds of Tindalos (OWO) makes him be able to bend/warp spacetime to attack from impossible angles.
Liaodan is a special kind of medicine or drug used by the Akushinkage. Basically grants a bunch of stuff you get while under "pseudo Satori". An interesting thing is Jin clarified what really usually happens WHEN you take it, plus another feature one gains when they take it. It also seems to buff the Space warping thing to do some Naruto stuff (OWO)
Douglas's Z Sword is made out of Elysium, some kind of metal ore or whatever from the world/planet of Elysia (home of the Elder Gods). It allows Douglas to cut Tesla's lightning.
Nikola Tesla:
Same case with Douglas but just a refresh + possible additions for the future Gahkthun CRT or whatever.
In Dreaming Larva, Tesla destroys some pocket dimension world or whatever that engulfed the room he and Neon were in with their clients. Probably nothing worth much since it's not explained how big it is. For what it's worth, it was described and mentioned as some kind of world so make that of what you will.
Defeats a drugged up on Liaodan Douglas, who as described by the meds effect makes him several times stronger than he already was. And this was also done against like 108 of him but...DK what that would come out as lol. Still worth something.
Questionable or debatable one but Tesla helped to confront the Critter Conrad summoned to attack Douglaswith at the end of the previous story Hagenaya Jin wrote. It's mentioned three times in Sakurai's story, twice by narration and one by Neon who was there to witness or at least describe confronting it.
Tesla's lightning can destroy information (on the profile again, but refresh of memory)
Just some basic features we got of Tesla like "never forgetting memories" and having a skill that is "effective against immaterial entities". The latter one probably helps explain/support why he was able to (again, LIKELY) help take down the Critter.

Thanks to the suit's performance and Liaodan, I've been able to continue winning battles against the Art students.
But this man. Nikola Tesla. The Man of Steel was different from other Art students. I had to admit it, I wouldn't win this way.
In that case, I--had to step into the realm beyond that.
Until I reach the end of Yoga, the ultimate Z.
Liaodan circulates throughout my body. My thought process accelerates.
Beyond time--beyond space--I have become--the Beast--

Haganeya Jin: Additionally, the use of Liaodan at the time was not to use the Long Halloween Ninpou (It has been banned since the fight with Tesla as using it will make them get hacked by Fu Manchu), but to nullify the Critter Voice through entering a state of pseudo-Satori.

Same case with Douglas but just a refresh + possible additions for the future Gahkthun CRT or whatever.
In Dreaming Larva, Tesla destroys some pocket dimension world or whatever that engulfed the room he and Neon were in with their clients. Probably nothing worth much since it's not explained how big it is. For what it's worth, it was described and mentioned as some kind of world so make that of what you will.
Neon goes over, but was too late. A bright fire ignites. It lights up, transferring over to the old, yellowed out printing paper and turning it into a fierce flame. At least that's what was supposed to happen.

Questionable or debatable one but Tesla helped to confront the Critter Conrad summoned to attack Douglaswith at the end of the previous story Hagenaya Jin wrote. It's mentioned three times in Sakurai's story, twice by narration and one by Neon who was there to witness or at least describe confronting it.
And then there was the Art Student Rebellion incident. The Black Beast, the Critter Case caused by Conrad Veidt, the worst Villain who obtained remnants of the Golden King's power, and the Black Critter's manifestation that was treated as a projector accident the month before. Despite being in a state of sleep due to exhaustion from his bloody feud with the Golden King, he managed to rush into the incident thanks to his female assistant's dedication. It was a month ago, yet the memory was still fresh. This was a major violation of the unwritten rules for articles written by the 3rd Newspaper Club.

Just some basic features we got of Tesla like "never forgetting memories" and having a skill that is "effective against immaterial entities". The latter one probably helps explain/support why he was able to (again, LIKELY) help take down the Critter.
He once made and owned such a portable information terminal machine when he was a young student in the previous century, and since he has now become lightning, he gained the property of Never forgetting all memories, of which he was aware and proud of having so long as he had his excellent mind.

Cracking fields are weird, idk how seriously we can take "it's an area without area", Walter brought Noel into his cracking field while she was dreaming, so doesn't exactly seem like a physical place, then all that nonsense about Walther and others bringing something from beyond, turning form into nothingness, maybe an argument it doesn't exist?

Berta's could too, but their's is situational I feel like so that requires her to just go up close in fighting. The fact even Tesla is amazed by her skill in combat makes it all the more impressive.

We need to calc Walther's crater feat from chapter 1, it's already linked on his profile.
Might be good results, he destroyed the floor for like hundreds of feet.
Speaking of him, have to say he is pretty weak when compared to the rest, dude is all about speed but is the slowest..
Albeit in terms of travel speed he is definitely the fastest, the others just have higher combat speed.
Though his ap is also low besides his gurney, he is gonna be like wall lvl.

The irony of even being fast is how he's only hypersonic tops, and that's with the gurney lol.

Haven't made much progress today, will have to be tomorrow.
That said apparently Tesla's Knight of Thunder just showing up breaks time itself, defies physics, and can also bend it... Doesn't Tesla's sword which he uses to summon the thing, which has black parts as handles come from M's power or something? I remember that being said that Tesla stole some of M's power or something years ago, if so not really surprised, it's busted.
I think scaling to Berta's heat lasers is dubious seeing as so far, Tesla dodges them, not tanking them, that cloud splitting feat, would actually be city level, which would live up to its name of being a city destroyer.

City level laser beam...now that's a proper fit for those machines being "city-destroyers" owo.
Didn't Tesla tank a blast of it through his silver shields? At best, his base KoT's shields would have it I guess.
Hmm...I wonder if Tesla at base would get a slight upgrade in 8-C or something since he beat Douglas as I posted even after he used his drugs + did a Naruto on him and basically one shotted all of that with a supermove. There's also him with Jo who's supposed to be the physically most powerful of the Council (Faint Indigo Moonshine) but that might not really mean much depending what else is gathered from the VN.

The fact that he could put a good fight against GK while on fumes due to his connection with Neon being at that point from my memory, is seriously impressive, he truly lives up to being the enemy of the Society.

The majority of What a Shining league literally took place when Tesla was still weakened after getting out of the Time Prison. The first half of the story literally took place in 1908 during the events of the main VN storyline.
Basically, Douglas only fought a base Tesla with however amount of radiance he has on a normal when his connection was not yet stabilized. The chapters of the story when it happened literally "July 1908", so the whole thing you're saying is way after that when the main story hits into March of next year in 1909.

Yeah, that's why I was confused why you think it's post VN when the novel literally gives you dates of the stories.
Like Dreaming Larva takes place in September of 1908. Moonshine is around 1906. Prelude Crimson story is 1905. Shining League during the VN (even up to the final battle with GK and post after with Conrad and the Critter incident), with some parts taking place in 1907 so it's pre to main story VN. The one you're thinking of is Deceptive Dragon that Sakurai wrote and that's in April of 1909, which is the only one to take place AFTER Gahkthun VN.
And yeah apparently. A Tesla that got his connection stabilized after getting brought back from illusion hell or something.

I kinda forgot the reason why he even has two keys, probably for that exact reason. But it doesn't seem that much different unless there's more to it.
One thing I do know from the Sona Nyl WN is he seemed to have a solid connection and whatnot until he confronted Edison since I think Neon and her family were still alive at that point til GK murked them, was it not?

That's exactly why he has 2 keys, due to his existence not being as stable, I mean up to Chapter 5 he can't get more than 2 miles away from Neon or he will die.
After his existence is stabilized, he obviously operates at a higher level, but as seen with Shining Nights, he can further Amp himself on radiance and i assume he can run out after a certain amount of time?
Tesla talks about his battery being charged when Neon found him underground, so if he has a "battery", it must be possible to empty it, thus his power still could vary.

Had a family that gave him a groundwork to stay in reality, then later gets separated from reality by being put in Edison's Time Prison after trying to stop him from doing his Cracking Effect Experiment in New York, stays there for like 5-6 years ish until Lily frees him and then goes to town on some murderous cult right after until he reaches France where he enters Marseille, starting off the plot of Gahkthun owo.
...That means Tesla was only weakened ish/unstable for like a year. Or 5/6 years if you count him being locked up.
Still pretty impressive for getting his ass kicked by an Outer God and getting sent to prison.

Probably both of those varyingly.
I don't think they know that it was Edison who Tesla encountered and fought (though Steampunk Series guidebook and Engine Dictionary Chronology do say something about "The White Man" being seen at that tower thing mentioned in the VN, so they at least know or had to know Tesla was there), but I imagine they'd be somewhat happy while pissed they couldn't do it themselves since Sakurai had stated in a tweet that they REALLY go after any traitors to those who leave the Society or do anything that would be seen as a spite or whatever (Gahkthun Glossary also mention Tesla having worked with them before, and I believe Mathers mentioned something about this too in the VN)
Edit: I would think GK would be the most salty one since he has a hate boner for Tick Tock Man (Edison), especially if he knew he was the one who took down their "Greatest Enemy" that they couldn't take him down even after years (or even decades, however long Tesla may have worked with them) of fighting. He was also still engineering his Marseille extermination plan already at that point so I imagine even if Tesla hadn't escaped the Time Prison (with help from Lily, ofc), GK would have gone through with it anyway just to make sure Tesla doesn't have ANYONE that is even remotely connected to him around in the off-chance he ever resurfaced.

Why does GK hate Edison? Albeit kind of a dumb question, Edison lives and breath making every living thing suffer, i assume he has had a hand in making GK's life hell.
Reading through Gahkthun after Sharnoth is interesting, we know about M, and Jane's relationship, then we learn more about witches in Gahkthun, about them being people who perform secret rituals, and worshiping M.
Jane when she was young didn't know M's true identity, and fell in love with him, then at some point realized she loves the being she worshiped, and can never truly have her love reciprocated, tragic.
Witches seemingly innately charm/brainwash people, and their power comes from M.

I was told by people who've read Steampunk for a while that Golden King seems to hate Outer Gods in general. DK why. Could be something that Edison did to make Rosenkreuz's life hell at one point, maybe Rosenkreuz really likes his MUH SCIENCE RULES ALL mentality so much that he doesn't want anything related to Gods or illusions (Edison or Tesla) to be involved.
All IK is that this "Core Plan" that got mentioned in side mats like Gahkthun's Glossary to the Sharnoth short story I TL'd is something GK takes personally as you read the portion above that involves killing said Outer God.
Funny thing is, the plans the Society had a hand on like in Sharnoth and Valusia (Zosik/Zothique(?) plan, Sharnoth descension plan, and something about a "Steel City" plan in the "Desert City" (Valusia setting)) are apparently just "branches" for this Core Plan he's so ambitious on aiming for.
The thing with Rosenkruez's hate boner is as amusing as he hates on a bonafide God, he kinda just has to get over it at this point. This is the guy who spent DECADES trying to make a plan to kill off the WIC's/Society's "greatest enemy", Tesla, the guy who joined their Society, used their own technology (circuit) to wok on Ben Franklin's Machine Belt...and then just duced on out of there. Rosenkreuz practically did all he can do, from gathering relatives of people Tesla met in his lifetime to nearly extinguishing the one family that served as Tesla's foothold in reality, and when that plan of killing him off finally happened...literally got undone by the very same people who he planned to wipe out of the face of the earth.
If Rosenkreuz took a while to (technically, but temporarily) beat down Tesla at his weakest/least connected whereas Edison stomped TFO of him when Tesla had his connection still stabilized...the Rose Ruler gotta do something else for the Society at that point.

I am questioning whether this core plan will actually work, i saw some stuff somewhere about Gk boosting about having the ability to take down M? Something like that.
Does science triumph over Gods is what it is boiling down to, can't help but think it's another of Edison's sick games, i mean he is a being which exists across all time, space, and darkness, he would have to be aware of GK's plan, either he is just so arrogant that nobody can touch him or he is enjoying seeing GK attempt to take him down, just to ultimately fail.
Either way should be interesting, though have to say in Steampunck we have the villains doing/planning horrible stuff like murdering 100,000 ppl, the good guys fighting back, and then there is the big bad in the background, manipulating everything,.
Indeed M has the ultimate rizz, i was seriously contemplating giving him social influencing, but wasn't sure how to word/justify that.

Shining Night seems to have revealed that the person Keziah worships is Edison instead of M if I remember correctly.

That would be ironic given she be praying to the Black King (what M is). Then again, M and Edison ARE both Nyar's of Jet Black, just ofc Edison is differentiated enough like having eaten Yog at some unknown point in the past and having the largest piece of AZTT under his grasp. But yeah, wtf that would be so wack if she found out or something lol.
@Celestial_Pegasus Even going off what's known, however little it is, I'm just curious how the plans involved in Sharnoth alone (The Zosik/Zothique plan, and the namesake one) could act as "branches" to this core plan to kill Edison. Considering Edison's time-space shtick thing cuz of chowing down on Yog, he certainly would have to be aware of things like GK's "core plan of society". Considering where Edison apparently stands, I wouldn't be amazed if whatever GK does cook up, it just blows up on his face in it not succeeding...
After all, if GK's Marseille Experiment to kill off Tesla ended up being undone (which, tbf, actually was thought out pretty well and even had greater chance of succeeding if Lily never found Tesla), it's gonna be hard to see how this "Core Plan" would turn out too. Especially since the Gahkthun Glossary also mentioned GK going after people like K and Machina, some two Engine Humans or whatever that Tesla knew and also met in the past when he was part of the Society (said two Engine beings were also made by Society as well) as "targets" of the "Core Plan". Tesla I think was also mentioned as a target ontop of the Marseille Experiment kill plan but he ofc survived so...idk what their deaths would serve here...

It's kind of a weird one too tbh, but it probably shouldn't affect it too much.
Basically while Lily IS dream walking, and both Thoth (Rom) and A tell her she can cross space and time to "myriad worlds", to see the stories and worlds as dreams, she also seems to appear in those "dreams" as a cat.
Also a cameo of each character that appeared from past works. Like in Inganock, she meets Ati back when the city was still enclosed (probably during the years leading to the main story or even during it, idk.). This one's a "tale of the past". Then she's got those of the present, like meeting Mary and Sherlock Holmes in present London (or 1908 at the time before Gahkthun was released that also took place in the same year later). That one's a "tale of the present". One other one dream she "saw" and was in was that of Ulthar, the story supposed to be in distant Kadath about some Shintai's. Like so distant in the past, apparently it's unrecorded by Kadathian history per the Ulthar guidebooks (Sakurai back to Steampunk Series when?).
It's kinda hard to explain it, you have to read it for yourself.
But the "dreams" she does see and go into (as a cat, that is) is supposedly representations of "someone's dream, someone's tale, someone's world". So maybe there IS something funky going on here...
