Sonic General Discussion Zone Act 1: New Frontiers

Actually, can anyone who's played Sonic 06 from beginning to end explain to me about this whole anchor thing regarding Solaris? Because I've never beaten 06 whatsoever and I keep hearing that argument being thrown around in battle boarding forums.
It’s a translation of the original Japanese line which was akin to “the light shells are keeping Solaris alive, let’s nuke them”, and he was wrong.

It's a wonky translation which is followed by Eggman saying that shells are bounding him, which leads to needing them to be broken, it sounds in a way that Eggman literally wants us to free his "true form", making no sense at all, but i headcanon it as Solaris being bound by 3rd Dimension and in the narrative if he isn't beaten fast enough, he will ascend to a higher one, becoming unbeatable (As he should be)
I see, and people just assume that Solaris' anchor/shells are infinitely weaker than the rest of his body? Because that sounds like pretty flimsy logic to me, especially if it's based off wonky translations I wonder if the Japanese script is any different from the English script.

Right, didn't they (the Super hedgehog trio) try to destroy Solaris' shells but the latter only ended up transforming into his second form? That does sound pretty wonky.

Holy shit, why reddit people are spiteful?
Tho, I won't deny that I somehow agree with his logic, just not with the way he is doing it
At this point: I'd rather see Time Eater scaling to Super Sonic arguments than people question if the TE destroyed the cosmology or not.

So I decided to browse the Death Battle subreddit for the heck of it and, as I anticipated, someone tried to use the Sonic 3 DLC to argue that the Time Eater didn't destroy the cosmology since the movie verse was "unaffected" (their words, not mine, just as an FYI).

Though what's interesting is that the comments responding to it think it's ultimately meaningless if it did and didn't destroy the multiverse since the Time Eater already scales to Super Sonic to begin with.
I am so shocked that the fanbase of the show that humiliated this series for 13 years now uses literally everything to downplay this series further! Wowie zowie!

As cool as the, like, 3 truly good 3D sonic games are I think it'd be nice if they finally tried actually making a game based around the classic gameplay. It's kinda crazy they've never even attempted to have proper momentum based gameplay given that's what the franchise was founded on. 26 years of excesive automation, homing attack chains, and quality gimmicks like the werehog or collecting bolts for Orbot and Cubot are, imo, starting to wear just a lil' bit thin. It's as likely to happen as pigs flying but a man can dream, Frontiers and Shadow Generations have sorta leaned into that more than previous titles so never say never I suppose.

I... I don't know. First time was just me going for 100% expecting some cool reward like everyone else did, I have no idea why I decided to do it again when master mode came out.

Just looked at his account this man lives, breathes & propagates Sonic scaling hatred, Solaris, the physically higher-dimensional being is hax yeah ok buddy
So I noticed just based off the post alone, but what's interesting is that the last time I checked, almost everyone seems to universally disagree with him or thinks it's irrelevant, so that's kind of funny.

Yeah, this can be disregarded lol. Most disagree, especially those outside of this subreddit lol. Albeit shit like this is why I don't take Reddit slop seriously ever lol.

Judging by this youtubers reaction to the Sonic 3 premiere we are about to be eating good in three days. It's so crazy to see so many fans go into the movie with such high expectations only to have even those blown away. Overall it seems Sonic 3 peaked so hard it blew a hole through the stratosphere and I couldn't be happier about it.

Hey, remember that one LS feat in Rooftop Run in Generations I brought up earlier? Well, the remaster makes this less of a chain reaction as the gears behind the clock can be seen, and it's evident Classic Sonic somehow has the LS to push that large one unless we make further assumptions on how the clock hands would move, so it could be calc material.

I just hope that the crossover with DC can allow Sonic to reach the same level as Flash by doing a crazy feat like, I don't know, SUPER CHARGING THE SPEED FORCE, or some shit like that.

Speaking of Sonic Dream Team: I finally got to play the game for the first time ever due to my family having Apple TV and, to be honest, I think how Dream Team handles multiple characters should be the way the console games does it.

Like instead of having them radically different play styles ala Adventure 1, 2, and 06, have them share a similar playset (you know boosting, homing attack, lights speed dash, etc.) but give each character one or two unique abilities that makes them stand out. And by doing that, you can design stages which are made to be played by every character, but then the replay value comes when you go back to previous stages with different characters to see what sort of routes and paths you can take.

That’s cuz it’s just how all the 2D games have handled it .-.

It's very odd it seems to be against SOA only unless I've missed something. Like yeah I can see the branch being resposible for the songs use in TV shows and live performances (Outside of the sonic symphonys since he's actually performed in them), but it being in 25+ video games without him knowing would fall more on SOJ no? Unless it's SOA that's inserting the song in the Yazuka games, other Sonic games, and allowing Nintendo to use it for Smash? Seems like it should be both branches but I ain't no lawyer so I might be completely wrong.

So... Remember the Sonic Earth calculation, the one that was modified like 100 times?... I found a small error (I think)
The error is not in the calculation itself, but in the calculation of the diameter of Lost Hex (the result of which is used in the calculation of Sonic's Earth)
Basically in the end, in the pixel scaling

In short, some things that aren't attached to the rest of the land has different heights, including the piece used to define the end of the pixel scaling line, which I think is quite noticeable that it is higher than what the diameter surface should be.
I think the best thing would be to use something like a circle surrounding Lost Hex to define where the circumference of it actually is, and use the created limit as the end point of the pixel scaling.
Then, use it in the result of the high end of the Earth calc
Is probably only LITTLE downgrade

Again, is only something I thing
Please, don't kill me

Honestly, since everything there is a dream world, it could be the perfect opportunity to include the Doom Powers in-gameplay even if Shadow can't use them in the Real World anymore.

Well, I can only hope that the positive reception of the inclusion of Shadow's Doom Powers encourages SEGA to make them a staple of Shadow's moveset.

At the very least, and this is just me, it'd be neat to see them introduce more Chaos based abilities for Shadow to play around with like the new Chaos Shift power from Dream Team.
