speaking of canon........ there's this: https://www.gameinformer.com/b/feat...he-sonic-the-hedgehog-franchise-answered.aspx

there's many different worlds apparently "The world that Sonic lives in and the world the humans live in are separate worlds. But, some of the canon games do have Sonic and humans together, and part of that is based on what world is being portrayed when the game is developed. There are kind of different worlds that do exist and sometimes there's some crossover"

me: what the- the sonic canon is flexible?! that's the worst kind of canon......

lizuka confirms sonic and mario are actually firends "We believe it's probably Sonic and Mario, so that although there's that rivalry there, we think there's really a good friendship as well."

so.....sonic and mario crossovers = canon

another thing........ zelda and yoshi island......... https://nintendoeverything.com/taka...shizelda-dlc-development-no-mario-stage-more/

sonic lost world is canon.......

yup so they're by extension canon......

Sonic Forces made oc's canon so my gigahyperpowered buttraping oc chicken scratch solos memetic chuck norris, marvel and dc plus your verse............

Honestly, the Mario and Sonic thing can be considered legit because both sides said that their respective mascots' canons are flexible.

Is Mephiles still hanging around?

Iizuka: Mephiles was created for the Sonic the Hedgehog game we published in 2006. He existed in that world and was very useful for that narrative, but we don't have any future plans for having Mephiles show up.

Damn it.Mephiles has so much potential

I think Mephiles potential was reached in Sonic 06. Though I will admit that the best villain should've been in a better game.

Now that we're on the topic of villains with wasted potential, I actually think Infinite is actually a great villain, and an even better written character.

i'm personally convinced sonic has no canon, the canon is whatever comes up or is declared canon/non-canon....

for example Sonic Boom Is a parallel universe but like marvel parallel universes like a complimentary similar to the ultimates series..... no this is in the article.........

"Sega was also quick to point out that Sonic Boom is not a replacement for the existing Sonic. Instead, think of it as a complement in the same way the Ultimate Marvel series complements Marvel comics"

""a new branch of the Sonic universe"

"taking place in a parallel universe"

Is Sonic Boom anything like classic Sonic?"

"Ultimately, we wanted to make sure [Sonic Boom] didn't conflict with what was in canon; we wanted to reinforce it. For example, my inspiration, along with the rest of the art team's, comes from a lot of Miyazaki, Disney, and Pixar films, so we wanted to dive into some archetypal things for the environment--specifically nature versus industry. When you see more of the village and of the environments we've built, you'll see their lushness and organic quality, and that's really important to establish early on. Not only is it canon, but subliminally you want to protect that [natural beauty]. Then, when you see the robots and machinery associated with the villains, it becomes a very archetypal conflict that just fits right into the Sonic universe."

https://www.gamespot.com/articles/sega-explains-sonic-and-knuckles-new-look/1100-6418328/ and https://www.gamespot.com/articles/s...-what-has-sega-done-to-knuckles/1100-6417572/

then there's this: http://brbent.com/gamasutra-sonic-boom-interview/

"Lots. SOA, SOJ, Sonic Team and Iizuka-san have been instrumental in helping us define the guardrails of how far we should roam away from canon. He and Sonic Team know this franchise better than one out there so their feedback has been incredibly valuable."

lmao no.

Infinite's character fits the theme of illusion. He appears to be immensely powerful but it is just as easy as for him to lose as he can win. He appears to be tough, but is easily hurt by words. He appears to be murderous, but he spares almost anyone he can. He appears to be the next ultimate god of the Sonic franchise like Dark Gaia or Solaris, but it turns out he is just an after thought by Eggman, a jobber that usually gets pushed aside when bigger villains show up. Eggman not only shows that he was just using Infinite like a toy, pushing him aside for the big finale, which again, was done by other villains but with Eggman as the toy, he shows better mastery of the phantom ruby. Behind the mask and all the hype that was built up, Infinite is just a pathetic excuse of a totalitarian megalomaniac. The status that Sonic team has built up around him was all just an illusion, which is what makes Infinite a great character.

that officially means sonic is faster and stronger than mario......

I like to think Ian Flynn's Theory on Time Eater being the remains of Mephiles is legit.

That said on wasted potential I wish they'd had done more with Scourge's prision break before he got Penders'd. And how the Surpression Squad was working out without him.

I like to think Ian Flynn's Theory on Time Eater being the remains of Mephiles is legit.

Once he becomes the new script writer (A N D H E W I L L) it will be legit.

Sonic defeated Solaris who is omnipresent across time so of course he's faster lol.

no........ there's many things wrong with that theory..........

each part of mephiles, no matter what is an all part of him.... the two scripts of 06, lizuka and the archie storyline version confirms solaris was removed from sonic's time/dimension upon elise blowing the candle.

no solaris = no iblis and hence no mephiles = no circular time-loop hogwash with shadow and mephiles because he never existed........

blaze is back in 06 silver's time (silver and her ended up splitting according to runners) but also in the sol dimension (which is a sign of the events of 06 taking place)

then there's the events of rush, rush adventures, then rivals part 1 and 2 which just negged the sonic canon entirely..........

then there was generations which confirmed all of the games and even the storybooks canon......

of course, but some people will swear it's non canon or doesn't when 1. mario has no canon, so technically everything nintendo is involved with is canon unless they declare otherwise. 2. as far as proof goes, sonic has a very flexible canon according to the lizuka and boom interviews above, the verse has showcased parallel universes, even worlds where sonic characters don't exist (like the human world, yoshi island, mario-verse, and zelda). 3. it's consistent and is not contradicted at all.......

I always assumed the Time Eater manifested from the leftover negative Hyper-Go-On Energy after the black hole collapsed or whatever at the end of Colors.

no.... it's origin is unknown, according to eggman, it existed since the dawn of time and he "discovered" it after the events of colors.......

it does not, it has no merit.... nothing confirms this........ it's headcannon.

NVM, I forgot lol.

Do you by any chance have the Bradygames Strategy Guide for Sonic Generations?

I realized afterwards that I probably should have made it more clear that that was just my thoughts about it. It's possible the black hole created a rift allowing Eggman to discover the Time Eater, but like you said that's just my head canon.

oh hey...... so i sort of discussed with @MYHERO (she disagrees because @executor has certain thoughts and says about it) on the script and finally i got the evidence for infinite multiverse statement......

here's what I said

"hey yo boyo, my comrade, like i said, there were other scripts, although i do not doubt it could have been touched but i stumbled upon something recently, both in zastando's video and sonic retro."

"http://info.sonicretro.org/Game_Development:Sonic_the_Hedgehog_(2006_game) the 2nd script was released, with more dialogue and among other things true. the 12-Infinite dimension things can't be real, we know that already, unless it's within correct japanese of kanji context of the script of course, which i extremely doubt since this is the original based on what i see on the metabytes and the properties. [the properties is more reliable btw]"

"(the internal file doc is what i'd actually go searching for)"

the date is about consistent and around the 1st "sonicnext_allscript"

i'm just waiting/contacting for executor to insert his input on this because it is on point.. but problem is some things repeats itself, there's some extra info with shadow revealing silver's time may be a parallel universe (which explains rush and 06)

also i got some helpful info from Manaita and Shiro Maekawa (a sonic writer, which will be explained) credits to this op: https://aminoapps.com/c/sonic/page/...ic-writer/1J6b_kpdT6uzD780g81epB7oP0Bvz6jmBDZ

this is when blaze get's sealed into a different dimension, which is shown later to be the sol dimension

https://pm1.narvii.com/6882/dec9a5a92480acb0cdb46ebcb699db63e9183960r1-602-280v2_hq.jpg

Manaita: "As Maekawa-san is Blaze's creator, I think it'd be interesting to hear about how Rush and 06 fit together (chronologically)."

so basically Blaze originally came from the future.

https://pm1.narvii.com/6882/43762d53ad5f424279008e160693c189e3d8f9cbr1-607-492v2_hq.jpg

Maekawa: "No no, Blaze's creator is Nishiyama-san who wrote Sonic Adventure 1's story~. The truth is, when writing Sonic 06 we wanted to add the sense of a connection between Sonic Rush and Sonic 06, but I don't think that's ever been officially stated."

(Manaita replied to Maekawa confirming this https://twitter.com/mana_ita/status/1010665857536614400 saying this is what she always believed, that Rush/06 were written intentionally with a connection to each other).

here's basically the timeline: https://pm1.narvii.com/6882/4cc065a3b10a6155f70e99e5732116c514b43d89r1-2048-1185v2_hq.jpg

another thing is, the sonic-verse has displayed three times the parallel universes concept.......

1: page 4 of sonic chaos http://info.sonicretro.org/images/b/bb/SonicChaos_GG_US_manual.pdf

2: sonic rush adventures: https://plus.google.com/115198278014529700260/posts/iZMpdPyLE2c (so blaze's multiverse is parallel to sonic's)

3: lizuka's questions and answers (above me, which is a huge support about the worlds and the script idea's)

4: sonic boom being confirmed a parallel universe like the ultimates from marvel (also above me)

so i believe this stands out as a good source, you?
