I've joked around a little bit with a few people, and now I'm going to go more about this thing in-depth.
What I'm discussing is a small bonus record you get while fighting in a match or going through one of the select 1-Player modes (Classic, Adventure, All-Star). Note these bonus records are only obtainable in the original 64 and Melee games, so no Brawl or Smash 4. There a bunch of these, but the main focus is the one called Solar Being, which is referenced and quoted from Melee.
Solar Being: "Only left stage by flying off screen and becoming a star."
So when a character is hit upwards to the point of going beyond the blast box, there is one of three possibilities: being outright KO'd, flying away from the screen, or landing onto the screen itself. This is specifically talking about the second scenario, in which they fly away with a small flash occuring as they disappear into the skies. This isn't just an ordinary flash, but it is implied that these characters actually become stars. Now you can either take this as characters randomly transforming into stars as they fly or those characters giving an impact strong enough to make them somehow turn into stars.
Or maybe you just don't think it makes sense and shouldn't count for a crossover fighting game that isn't even canon. But hey, I'm just in it for my non-canon Star Level Jigglypuff. What are your thoughts?
