Skullgirl downgrade.

So are you saying Marie is a Top Tier of the series that no one canonly fought?

Well I'm not informed with the series but if that's the case logically I wouldn't think they should scale then. Let's see what others have to say though.

Though not all story are uncanon. Some other skullgirls scale to Marie like Parasoul's mom, who destroyed a town with extreme ease. Most characters don't get scaling however.

I agree with this too... but there is a problem, that leaves most of the cast as "Unknown".

Guys just hang on, i'm trying to find a few things we can scale them to, but if the creator of the game said that they dont scale to Marie then yes i guess we'd have to downgrade them

If none of the storylines are canon, I say we either use all the feats from each of the character's endings and what not, or try to find a reasonable, balanced scaling for the cast.

The only characters who didnt fight Marie as the final boss are Fukua, who fought Filia, and Eliza, who fought Filia and Squigly in her post-gehenna absorption form. Other than that, there's Cerebella killing Ms Fortune at the end of her story and Double stomping every one of the original characters at the end of hers. I'll go through everyone's storylines and movesets to find some notable feats we can calc and scale to.

But seriously, if someone can calc Cerebella's "Diamonds are Forever" attack and Peacock's "Lonesome Lenny" that'd be great

Well, we should change the characters to unknowns until you get those feats calculated.

@WB: Depending on what we get for Cerebella and Peacock's attacks, we can scale them to the rest of the Skullgirls characters, correct?

Are there any clips of Cerebella and Peacock doing these attacks by any chance?

Well since the author said that all the story lines are uncanon. I'm guessing it wouldn't scale to anyone except those characters who did the feat....

@Lina Yeah. Also i found the blog with the feat for Lonesome Lenny...but its an SA blog...and there's no calc...would someone be able to figure out how they did this and see if its accurate? Here, its about 3/4ths of the way down the page.

Also, I cant believe I forgot this, Painwheel's actual lore, not her in-game lore, her actual lore states that she was infused with the Skullgirl's blood and a portion of her power...

@Blue Just because the story isn't canon doesn't mean the attacks are any weaker.

What does that have anything to do with what I'm saying? I never said the attacks were weak. I'm saying it wouldn't scale to anyone else other than the characters who did the feat. If you're referring to them being able to take eachother's attacks. I already told you that logic was flawed. It's game mechanics. Like all fighting games they can take eachother's attack in gameplay.

Reading the death battle analysis, perhaps we can see where the Skullgirls stand at physically, although reading the attack descriptions Mallet and Bite, she is Wall level at least.

Anyways, about Lonesome Lenny if 36,450,000,000 PSI is to be believed...

  • 1 psi = 6894.757 N/m┬▓
  • Multiply 36450000000 by 6894.757 to get about 2.513e14 N/m┬▓
  • 1 Joule = 1 N/m or something.
  • Convert 2.513e14 N/m┬▓ to joules, and get 2.513e14 joules.
  • That is about 60065 Tons of TNT. That is Town level.
About Tommy Ten-Tons, how far did he fly up from that explosion btw?

@Lina I would appreciate if you could do the calculations in a blog post that can be evaluated.

I made a blog for it, although I would like to wait for WB and see what he thinks of this.

Also, Cerebella's Diamond are Forever sounds rather dubious because the feat is described as Cerebella hurling a huge diamond at the opponent, which means that the diamond was already contained in the rock instead of Cerebella manually forming the diamond via pressure.

The move description from the game itself:

"Cerebella lifts up a chunk of the ground and tosses it into the air. She then winds up and jettisons it at her opponent, turning it into a diamond in the process. Unlimited armor before the super flash."

She turns it into diamond with her punch

Okay. Please remember to ask for input in the evaluations thread, as usual.

Ok, so did a little more research, found an interesting and potentially very helpful piece of game lore. Not non-canon storylines, actual game lore. All parasites (Filia's Samson, Squigly's Leviathan, Eliza's Sekhmet, Peacock's Avery Unit and Argus System, and Painwheel's Gae Bolga Matrix and Buer Drive) and living weapons (Cerebella's Vice Versa and Parasoul's Krieg) derive their power from an element called Theonite. Theonite is also the source of the Skullgirl's power. Also, like I said before, Painwheel lore states that she was infused with the Skullgirl's blood and granted a portion of her power in the process.

So, I finished the calc for Cerebella and sent it to the Calc Evaluations thread. The results were...a little surprising.

Well everyone with non-canon scaling is Unknown now, so whenever we decide to figure out what tier they actually are...

Well, Cerebella's diamond forming feat resulted in City Block level, so we can use that to scale the characters to at least that level.

Ok, we'll see what everyone has to say. Any word on Lonesome Lenny? Would it be easier to use the in-game version of him instead? Also, dont forget, nearly every character uses the same energy sourse as the Skullgirl if that could be used to scale...

The lonesome lenny feat sounds a bit dubious, partially because there as no actual footage of the explosion sending Tommy Ten Tons flying.

We don't even know if the explosion even released that much pressure; the number could have just been made up instead.
