Isn’t the logic of the second calc faulty considering the light has already touched everything in the room? The second the screen starts lighting up, Cinder has already been hit by the light. It’s just the bigger bang of magic that she seems to move alongside. The glow caused by Ruby has already touched her, as indicated by the screen being lighter.

I’m not talking about the blob of white coming from Ruby. I’m talking about the screen itself literally being white. As the pictures of your own calc show, the entire screen is lighter than it was before. You’re calculating Cinder moving against light that has already hit her, which doesn’t make sense to me.
The screen is lighter in the third pic than the first or second. Meaning the light has already hit everything in the room. Your calculation takes place after this and doesn’t make sense to me

But it does cover and hit everything well before your calc is implying. The moment the tone of the screen shifts to a lighter white, Cinder has been hit.

Ah if you're meaning that light effect then that wouldn't even make sense for us to considering the screen effect considering the moment the light hits Cinder her Grim arm would be completed ****** to the max as we saw, the actual light coming out of ruby hasn't remotely reached Cinder yet as she's completely unaffected and still attacking Jaune.
I'd rather take the actual white light coming out of her rather than the screen brightening effect here.
However for that I'll leave it up to CGMs to decide

But the screen brightening is the entire reason it’s considered light in the first place? Why would the screen no brighten in an instant if it truly is documenting a light speed feat?
It takes a couple seconds of exposure for Grimm to get messed up by the silver eyes, and clearly the bigger blob of light that expands from Ruby is carrying a bulk of the magic. But the screen brightening effect is LITERALLY the result of light hitting everything. Otherwise it wouldn’t exist. There are rays of light coming off of Ruby well before the bigger blob expands from her.

There are two separate “light” sources on Ruby. She begins to glow, which immediately already means the light coming off of her is going outwards to fill the room and reflect off literally everything. She then glows harder until that glow encompasses the room.
There is a speed difference between the light from her glow and the glow itself, as the light fills the room well before the glow does.

So it does say Penny's lasers are light and given the writers statement that the spider dorid, Ironwoods laser gun are also lasers like Penny's this means they are shooting out beams of light

Yeah that seems pretty common from all the translations im getting so Penny's stuff should be usable as Light in calcs as well but still having a wiki translation would be the cherry on top

wow I wish you guys would have just sent this before cause that’s pretty blatant.
Anyways, I have no issues if they’re taken as light, my only other issue would be whether or not people in the vytal festival forward scale but that’s not my job.

Yes but I heard that if shows factors that disqualifies it from being like a laser, it can’t be light speed. Like something being light doesn’t make it light speed in a sense. If I make a hammer out of light and swing it, that swing isn’t LS.

This kinda misses the point of the Spider-Droid laser being stated to be a particle beam which is SoL, if all the lasers from Atlas are stated the same and Pennys are also stated to be those kind of light based lasers that more than not act like real lasers as well there is no reason for it not to be SoL.
So no need to bring in other verses, seems kinda needlessly nit picky

I was addressing what was being said. Other verses show a standard. Something can be made of light and have enough inconsistencies to not move at light speed. That is a fact. Whether that is true or not of anything being mentioned here is irrelevant to me.

Then what you're saying as whole in regards to that is irrelevant considering the other evidence coupled together here. So it makes less sense to bring up another verse here in the context of the wider evidence as a whole. Like I said needlessly nitpicky

What are you even on about my guy? I'm talking about you being needlessly nitpicky on one aspect of the arguments of Penny's lasers. As far as my calc goes I'm leaving that to others so if you're feeling some way about that then you need to take a step back cause apparently you're the only one getting heated here. If we can't just have a regular talk here then that's on you cause I've said nothing rude to you or haven't expressed any ill will

My comment wasn’t about Penny’s lasers specifically in the first place if you were looking at what I was responding to. Spin said “no, if it’s light it is light speed” which is a false statement as has been set by the wiki. Something can be made of light, and if it has inconsistencies, not be light speed. I made no statement for whether that applied to Penny’s lasers or not, I was commenting on what was said in a general sense because the statement itself was general. Then you come in and call my comment irrelevant when I’m clearly addressing something.
Regardless, I will only be commenting on the second calc further. I don’t much care for the verse’s speed feats.

Wolves was bringing up an example of when a verse does not accept something stated as light to be light speed, I don’t see anything wrong with that.

I understand that it is completely nitpicky since you're only addressing that alone is isolation to try and talk against it
WoG says all laser weapons from Atlas use the same laser technology
WoG says the lasers are particle beam lasers
WoG says the lasers are light based
You're going in on the light being light while ignoring the other evidence as a whole is inherently nitpicky when its not some single statement in isolation

This is where you are incorrect because I AM NOT REFERRING TO THE RWBY VERSE.
I said GENERALLY that just because something is light does not mean it moves at light speed as a response to Spin’s comment that because something is light that it must be light speed.
Your inability to understand my point and belittle it and myself as “nitpicky” is ridiculous and childish.
