Well, Gru isn't going to do anything to Shrek without his equipment. Shrek has 10x higher AP than Gru physically speaking (assuming 120 kj from a rushing great white shark), though Gru would be baseline Small Building level with a thermal blaster that he used to blow up a carnival stand. His durability's also greater than Shrek's as he survived an onslaught from Vector albeit charred by it. Thing is Shrek can actually get past Gru's durability.
Gru is noticeably faster than Shrek, with Shrek being 17.9 m/s with 68.58 m/s reactions while Gru has (from a quick calc) 29.2 m/s with Mach 3 reactions. Of course itgoes without saying that flatulence is something oe would never see coming, so reactions might not do too much good against those.
The way I put it, unless Shrek nails Gru with a butt-blast, Gru wins by nailing Shrek with either the Shrink Ray (crushing Shrek afterwards) or the same thermal blaster he used to blow shit up.

Come to think of it, pretty sure currently Gru should stomp if the massive explosion he took from the first movie alone (without equipment I don't know who the **** thought he had equipment on him when that happen he clearly hasn't) Was calc'd, It does look like it could reach Small Building, maybe Building-ish.

Same... However if it helps notice on him too, looking back on some files depending on what we have for Puss n' boots calc's (whom Shrek somehow up scales to) Then Shrek could keep up. Green guy still out lifts Gru by a lot a lot like an astonishing 100 times (via the cauldron feat from Shrek 2 is calc'd at 100, credit to Stefano.) and in speed if we scale to Puss he could blitz (combat wise).
a CRT for Shrek could be in the future as well.

And another thing, not many know this but Shrek has some potential Tier 2 canon comics, yes you heard me right it initially surprised me as well.

so shrek survived the dragon's firebreath, which can reduce armored humans to skeletons, so shrek might have small building durability too

yes, kind of. The stone dragon and ghost does go down somewhat similarly. And we do actually get to see his parents!
