He was doing that in the film. Godzilla wins. His short term regen is much better (like in GiH #4, where he regenerated his head after being decapitated in a second or so, or in Kodansya manga, where Godzilla repeatedly regenerated having his chest violently pierced and where a monster with Godzilla's cells regenerated its destroyed head near instantantly, or hell, 2000 Godzilla, whose regen was so potent the monster that copied Godzilla's power was regenerating half of his body in less than a minute). Then there's a fact that Godzilla can regenerate from being atomized (like GMK and HCW Godzillas did after being destroyed by Oxygen Destroyer). And while it took them decades to regenerate, it was only because these particular versions had slow Regenerationn, which is not the case with Composite. And that's not even considering that Godzilla can live on as a spirit and possess other living beings, like he did in Warning from G story from Godzilla Comic (a Godzilla manga anthology).

Heck, even if 682' hax doesn't work (which it likely would), 682 could just adapt to become stronger than Godzilla and then hit him in the head really hard until he gets knocked out, which wouldn't trigger his Type 6 or Regen.
