Rule Violation Reports (New forum)

Okay. I will unblock him then.

This user has been vandalizing Genshin Impact profiles.. I have already reverted the changes

They're not too extreme for a permaban, but I gave him a 2 week ban and will leave him a message.

I'm going to make a report on the topic of Problemexe, who used to have the account named Star_King_Demon_Lord before he mysteriously swapped it out. Wonder if that has to do with anything am about to mention...

That said, to get straight to the point, Problemexe has proved himself to be, through what is starting to prove to be some degree of outright malicious intent, actively disruptive to the wiki in his attempts to upgrade/oppose the downgrades of SAO.

When Gamerturk (who, for reference, has since proven to be someone well versed grammatically and rather reasonable, always providing reasoning for the arguments he makes and generally being nice to talk to) tried to come to the wiki in order to make some CRTs, Problemexe, alongside several other users, attempted to stonewall him from even getting onto the Wiki and thereby forums due to an unrelated toxic user using his arguments and doing many things that I can indeed agree are banworthy. This can be seen starting from here, though the part I'm talking about specifically only really begins around here.

To be fair to him, as of then his YouTube videos had him be given a polarizing relationship with Versus Battles Wiki that lead to him strongly criticizing it in an abrasive fashion, but that does not excuse how he behaved past that point.

Once Gamerturk was allowed onto the forums and was able to make his arguments in a more calm and collected manner, Problemexe still attempted to stonewall revisions by attacking Gamerturk's character in whatever way he could. He went as far as to defame him in my DMs over utterly unsubstantial evidence (referencing users who have been "given salt" by the downgrades Gamerturk is pushing for), which lead to me telling him off in a way I admit was rather condescending and uncalled for.

When that didn't work, he still attempted to stonewall the AP downgrades, going so far as to have his first response be, not actually addressing the argument, but rather "Shouldn’t this CRT be closed? It’s too early for another SAO CRT to happen just right after one just finished.", which was of course called out as incorrect. Then, from there, in his attempts to refute the downgrade, he adamantly refused to use the official translations and relied on fan translations that even the translator themselves admitted weren't reliable. Even if his stubbornness didn't actually get him anywhere as the majority of people didn't see his arguments with merit, it's the intent, not the efficacy, that truly matters in this case.

Which applies twofold to his attempts to revert the downgrades, though in this case, I want to actually draw more attention to the steps he took to make the thread rather than how the thread itself went (which is just him being called out for not actually bringing any new solid arguments).

When the fan translations he used to try and keep the previous ratings didn't pan out, he proceeded to send the raw Japanese to translators on the official requests thread, who had no idea of the context, which is heavily important in this case as Uchi can refer to both Outer Space and the entire universe. This textbook confirmation bias doesn't even stop there, as later in the thread this is pretty much laid out as plainly as it could possibly be in this exchange.

To quote Gamerturk...
Uses the anime in an attempt to support his point.

Asks why people are using the anime when they tell you what's happening visually in his own reference material.

Why is this so similar to you using Defan's Fan Translation and then the moment it's brought up how Defan clarified his translation that you are citing, you go around looking for a new translator?
And even after this thread, he didn't stop, and is in fact doubling down further for what I can only presume is another upgrade thread by pulling out of context quotes from the web novel where, in a clear show of flowery language, an army of around 20,000 soldiers being flash frozen is described as "The world/universe" was frozen. Keep in mind, that the whole reason that it says "world/universe" (In spite of those having two very distinct meanings) is because the translator has no context on this, and had to try and play it safe by translating literally and hoping it's close enough for government work. This is made even worse because the Web Novel isn't even canon anymore, as the Light Novel replaced it. Sure, we do have things like Web Novel Rimuru and Light Novel Rimuru because of how differently the two versions play out, but I have no doubt in my mind he's going to try and apply this as something in general instead of a web novel Kirito profile.

To shorten, he has actively attempted to circumvent everything that proves an obstacle for his upgrades in order to push for a rating that has been repeatedly debunked. If he is not banned or given a severe warning, it is likely he will continue this unacceptable behavior indefinitely in whatever way he sees fit.

I leave it to the rest of staff to determine how dealing with this should proceed. I'm just here to present the fact there is in fact a problem.

I think a severe warning is in order, if they continue go with a week ban, then bump to three months, then a year, and then a permanent ban

I can understand that Problemexe acts wasnt that good, but still, iirc, he has been nervous all this time because (if i remember correctly), Gamerturk showed him in his youtube account that has more than 50k subscribers, honestly, this should be solved between these 2 (in my opinion)

mental problems are an excuse to step away from the wiki, not actively disrupt it.
you ignored the other half of the text, the reason that problemexe was nervous is because gamerturk showed him on his youtube account that has more than 50k subscribers (iirc)

Which then Problemexe got sent shit saying that they should commit suicide and other really aggressive shit by Gamerturk's fans

He never did, no.

A big subscriber count is irrelevant, unless he actively threatened to make a callout post or something like that. The most he did (that can be verified through screenshots) was Gamerturk showing strong dissatisfaction when speaking to Problem.

Yes if I’m not mistaken the Gamer Turk guy has even sent people or encouraged the harassment of the guy.

I think this is just a case of a user being adamant about the specific scaling he deems is right for kirito. I’ve honestly seen him in a couple of CRTs and haven’t noticed any really bad toxic behavior.

I think a stern warning is fair about when it’s time to concede and to not stonewall. Also to to maybe create a profile for web novel kirito if the ratings are that drastic.

Please don't post memes in Rule Violations, even I don't do that.

From my understanding I'm pretty sure that was just him bashing StarKing on twitter over the arguments, not active harrasment

It's still not good but it isn't something he's repeated since then

Just warn him for his behavior and start doing progressively longer bans if it continues at an unreasonable rate in regards to SAO and upgrades/downgrades and stone walling or his interactions regarding it, the rest seem like it's either partially justified or personal. Tbf, being called out on twitter and in front of 50k viewers is pretty suspect, I don't think anyone would want that to happen, regardless of how bad it truly was in context.

Chariot shares my views here, other then the subs thing which I would meme the hell out of and give 0 ***** otherwise

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't GamerTurk make tweets harassing StarKing and was told to delete them by Ant?
Let's see...
1.) My private conversation with Antvasima. I was the victim of his tweets which I asked Antvasima:

2.) I'm apparently "dumb" for saying that I read fan translations instead of machine translations. I literally read the volume in another language...

3.) He apparently has zero patience and jumps to conclusions rather quickly without knowing that time zones exist and the fact that he doesn't know I can't be online 24/7...

These actions are things he has not repeated since then, and they don't exactly justify what you did entirely independently of his influence. Let's not derail with the actions of another person.

I find it suspect you never bothered to bring this proof when telling me Gamerturk was bad news in the first place as well but, whatever.

To be honest, i don't see anything that called harassment or insult from what you post. And your action of defaming him is also not a good thing

Gamerturk isnt the best person, we all agree, but thst only says you may have some mental stress and does not justify your repeated upgrade attempts and repeated stonewalling

No one is perfect or best in anyway, we all have some of our worst moment

I think he just being really sturbbon, but the case of purposely getting to translate out of context statement to use them later should be more than report worthy.

Either a firm warning or a more severe punishment is fine for me.

Gamerturk has a few instances of being rude that have since ceased, Problemexe has several instances days apart of attempting to sidestep the wiki.

That's the difference here, and I want there to be some kind of response to the latter other than "oh well"

No, you did not. Nowhere in our conversation did you ever provide that tweet, or that comment, you just said they happened and never provided actual proof you were being attacked.

Oh. You meant in DM...
