Rose wouldn't try to attack if Thanos kept spamming her. She's a general and that would be a very large tactical blunder to just charge when someone is shooting at you. She knows she can't win at range, but Thanos can't damage her at range either. Basically, Thanos has more to lose in a ranged fight since he won't be able to damage her, meaning he'll have to go in close first, giving Rose the advantage.

Anyway, here's her using her sword in her fight against Hessonite and here's her holding a damaged sword in her fight against the Light Warriors, implying that she used it in that fight; she much more likely to get into close range than you're implying.

Okay, so she's used her weapons. That doesn't prove anything other than that she's willing to use her sword in a fight. But in a scenario like this, Rose would know that it'd be bad to try to get in close while she's being bombarded. Do you charge out into a battlefield because you're being pinned by an artillery barrage? No.
