Resizing/Retiering the GSR

And if the heart of this whole contradiction is because asserting Mata Nui to be the size of Denmark, on the basis of these claimed non-canon statements, leads the canon 40 million feet height for the GSR to not make sense, then we would obviously throw out the size of Mata Nui before we throw out the size of the GSR.
I was under the impression it also created straight-up plot holes, like the robot being covered by an ocean on a planet where it canonically should be too large for that.

Perhaps @Hagane_no_Saiyajin could clarify that, and where exactly the stated size of the island is coming from as well.

The blog post by Faber is very weak evidence on its own - he says as much in the first paragraph.

Independently of this, however, I'm not entirely sure I understand the evidence for Mata Nui's size in the first place. Faber's comments indicate that, yes, the size and shape of Denmark were an inspiration when designing Mata Nui. This doesn't equate to the two being the exact same size, and they clearly aren't for that matter - it was evidently used as a reference point when designing Mata Nui, but this isn't proof the direct comparison to Denmark's size is accurate. So I disagree with the thread.
No, the evidence comes from Makuta's Guide to the Universe (https://files.maskofdestiny.com/story/books/guides/Makuta's Guide to the Universe.pdf) [Page 18], where the island is confirmed to be 486km*285km. Larger than Denmark, but smaller than the GSR's face (as calculated here https://vsbattles.fandom.com/wiki/U...:_Metru_Nui_could_potentially_straight_up_die). 486km is a lot smaller than 1235km.

We're not asserting that the island of Mata Nui is the size of Denmark, but that geometrically speaking the smaller height more fits in line with the size of the island with accordance to the face as seen in the OP

This does actually change things - if Farshtey both claimed Mata Nui is 486 by 285 kilometres and that the GSR is 40 million feet tall on separate occasions, and these facts are irreconcilable with each other, then we do have to extend some degree of death of the author to come to any conclusion on the GSR's real height.

It doesn't mean I would specifically use Faber's blog post as the source on the matter - but either Mata Nui or the GSR's size does need to be reevaluated. I'd hear out reasons to reevaluate the latter over the former.

The evidence also comes from this poster from here showing that Mata Nui is 357 kio long and 178 kio wide or 489.09*243.86km as 1 kio = 1.37 km

It is a very plot critical point that the island covers it's whole face (the island is a mask and masks are part of the entire foundation of the series' lore) And that the island has be destroyed so he can be properly awakened.
My reasoning is this. We have two sizes for the GSR, & one size for the island. We know how big they are relative to each other. One size for the GSR doesn't line up with the size for the island, but the other size does. Given the numbers we have, it seems most reasonable to go with what's most consistent. We don't have two sizes for the island the same way we have two sizes for the GSR.
Think about it, we have three sizes, & two line up. Are we really going to throw away two consistent sizes in favor of one outlier? Sure, there's little to contradict the larger end, but there's nothing contradicting the smaller size either. There's more to support the smaller size in-universe than there is the larger size.
Also this is what we see when the GSR stands up:
