Is anything stopping Flagg from just reading his mind and realizing there's another guy who's just gonna revive him the whole time?

Because if not, I guarantee he'll do that. He's kind of an asshole when it comes to other people's privacy, and he doesn't hesitate to go for mind-reading if the person he's dealing with doesn't have sufficient telepathic protection.

His mind-reading should also be far superior to that of Roland who, even as a low-level telepath, could "(know) what was in Eddie's mind before Eddie knew it himself" and "see Eddie's next move before Eddie even realized he was moving".

And how will that help him?

1. He'll be able to see Nanashi's next move before it happens and react accordingly.

2. He'll realize that his only option is to turn him into a duck or something, then do that.

And what's stopping him from just observing and hitting him with magic?

Besides a possible well-timed teleport on Flagg's part, nothing.

Except that he has to do that before Flagg so much as moves his arm.
