Possible upgrade to Goombas and every other minion

So, throughout the Mario series, it's always been shown that every enemy is capable of hurting Mario. Whether this be showcased with Mario shrinking from a hit in the main series, or Mario taking a good deal of damage from them in the RPG's. They have always been viewed as somewhat of a threat and multiple key characters from their species have been able to contend with Mario and Luigi and give them a good fight. They're typically able to overpower Toads and a few species of them even gave Bowser a good fight in BiS, where his own minions showed they could hold their own in battle against him and even harm him. Yes, Goombas have always been regarded as the weakest minions but, they've never been portrayed as anything but comparable to the rest of the cast and Bowser's other minions, where Shy Guys can tame and even halt the movement of fully grown Chain Chomps in some games and multiple enemies can create tremors like the other more powerful characters in the series can. They can hold up the same amount of weight that Koopas and Shy Guys can and can survive attacks that normally deal a good amount of damage to the Bros. and require more than one jump to kill in the RPG's as well as Yoshi's Island. It's consistent enough to just simply be ignored, in my opinion.

The Elite Trio are just three normal minions in getup that differentiates them from the rest only through pure aesthetics. They represent the potential a minion of each of their respective species could reach. Dry Bones also don't immediately die after being stomped on and require a more powerful hit or certain abilities to take out. Shy Guys can even hold up and withstand the weight of a Thwomp. You know, the things that typically instantly kill Mario or Luigi and have a higher power and defense stat than most minions in the RPG's? If you look at their respective stats in the RPG's, they're all relatively comparable with each other. Koopas almost always have one of the highest defense stats amongst minions too.

Maybe we could clarify that a normal Goomba has the current stats it has now, but maybe another set of stats can be used to signify the numerous variations of the species and "boss" characters which give them comparable stats to that of Toad at the very least?

I will inform Dino Ranger Black about this thread.

I can't really agree with scaling the Goombas or any random mook due to their RPGS statistics. These are mechanics mainly used for progression and difficulty, not an actual testament in showing how strong the characters actually are. We really can't use this since it would raise some head scratchers. After all, it's the reason why it's incredibly difficult to rate non-legendary Pokemon.

Further more, I don't think simply being able to hurt Mario is enough to justfy an upgrade. It's sounds just as ridiculous as scaling a random Waddle Dee to Kirby or a Skeleton to a Castlevania character for similar reasons. They been consistently noted to be one of the weakest enemies in the verse. Just because notably strong charaters such as Goombella, Goombario, and Goomboss, who happens to be the same species, doesn't mean others are just as strong.

Okay. Thank you for the reply. Perhaps we should close this thread then?
