Pokemon Showdown Discussion Thread

G1 Mewtwo with optimal moveset >M. Ray

I got a friend who plays this all the time during school

Reminder that you can make a Spinda use Skill Swap on Rayquaza, and then just spam V-Create, Dragon Ascent, Draco Meteor and Superpower to solo the opposing team, as now it has Contrary

This set is as broken as it sound in doubles, however, Spinda sucks, so after that the best it can do is just use Toxic everywhere.

I remember using a Meta strat in my Gen 3 Nuzlocke. My Plusle used Helping Hand on my Milotic to buff its Surf, which one shot Tate and Liza.

We have a showdown discussion thread here?

Well I guess the April Fools sprites are great as always

Also there are Kirby and Touhou references in the new sprites so yay

For both those statements, why is that, if you'd care to elaborate, please?
About the current meta it's just that it's boring and kinda hard to have fun and about gen 7 the meta was just crazy and impossible not to laugh.

So Gen 9's meta is boring because... it's boring?

Is it because it's gone unchanged for several months with little more than a few new Pokemon introduced via Tera Raids?
Waiting for Home?
Is it because Terastallization does less compared to Dynamax, Z-Moves &/or Mega Evolution?
Is it because the meta leans heavily towards one strategy, such as oppressive hyper offensive?
Is it because there aren't many viable Pokemon in this generation's dex?

yes boring cuz it's boring it's a stationary meta with generic and repetitive strategies not much else to say but what i think the real problem was the tera mechanics i genuinely thought it would be something awesome but it quickly wore out i don't know exactly why but now i just find it tiring.

Gen 9 OU nowadays is just offense with Great Tusk everywhere and Gholdengo keeping up hazards out of its typing and ability blocking all remotely viable forms of hazard removal, to the point Defog Mold Breaker Hawlucha has been rising in viability from what I've heard.
