So this thread will pretty much serve as the thread where we discuss Pokemon feats. This will allow a slowdown of all the Pokemon Upgrade/Downgrade threads lately. This is also where we will discuss tiers and stat placements for the Pokemon Files. This way we can fix things without going from thread to thread to thread to thread to thread. So any problems with files or any feats for upgrades and downgrades will be reported here.

This will also be where we discuss the rules of scaling and such. So that everything doesn't take up unneeded space.

Note: THIS IS NOT A FUN AND GAMES DISCUSSION THREAD. THIS IS ONLY FOR DISCUSSING STATS, FILES, RULES,ETC!!!!!!

Go here for that. https://vsbattles.com/vsbattles/506914

One question for Genesect (shiny): didnt it get stomped by mega mewtwo and needed the help of more genesect in order to fight mewtwo?

should every Pokemon that learns Earth Power be small town in general? It's really a single attack and a random Corsola being able to bust small towns makes little sense.

Attack Potency =/= Destructive Capacity. If the move was calced at Small Town, then Pokemon who learn it are Small Town. To argue otherwise is nonsensical.

Would moves like Solar Beam be considered Speed of Light, or is it just "light based energy" or something like that? The move description implies the ladder.

@Anime and Dark nah it is energy made from light, think of photosynthesis or a solar panel.

Yeah Solarbeam is just like a Kamehameha. But we do have Luster Purge in which is a burst of light. As well as moves like Flash and Flash Cannon which could be pure light. We also got Mirror Shot too. So those could count.

Flash Cannon is described as "light energy", so it's not natural light I'm afraid. Mirror Shot is also described as energy.

Luster Purge could be legit. I guess Latios ca have "Speed of Light attack speed via Luster Purge"

Wait then wouldnt Pikachu (and maybe some others) get Light Speed reactions? Im pretty sure when ash faced Tobias's Latios, who used Luster Purge, Pikachu was able to react to it more than once. But this might be PIS.

And those arent the only moves. There's also Dazzling Gleam and Moonblast.

Actually Dazzling Gleam is said to be a flash of light. So Alolan Ninetales, Cutiefly and Ribombee actually may have a lightspeed attack in Dazzling Gleam.

Sorry to bust your SoL bubble guys but thats not good enough to upgrade 50% of Pokemon to Light Speed.

Just look at this calc trying to upgrade Mewtwo to FTL+ with the same logic.

Actually I have a suggestion regarding TM's.

And im pretty sure that calc wasnt accepted for other reasons. These moves specifically say flash of light in their descriptions which is logically natural light.

"Beam of Light" not SoL.

"Flash of Light" SoL

Ok making my Tien speed upgrade as we speak, you remember the solar flare right?

Any jokes aside, show me these attacks working the same way light does.

Here you can find the list of all the things you will need to prove and disprove for these beams to be considered SoL, than you have to get staff as well as calc group approval, finally prove its not an outlier like the weapons in Xcom.

See why its so difficult to make anything SoL here?

I agree that Flash is light speed, but that's it. The only other Pokémon who has light speed attacks are Jirachi and Necrozma respectively with their signature moves. Jirachi attacks with predetermined light, and Necrozma is a living prism who shoots prismatic lasers.

Only 3 Pokemon learn Flash naturally though im not sure if bioluminescence is actually light speed.

I know we don't allow TM or HM moves for Pokemon since they don't learn it naturally on their own

BUT

Does it also apply to Pokemon who are owned by a specific trainer? I thought that since a TM/HM is canonically and technically apart of a Trainer's items or "weapons" they hold with them, they might be able to teach their specific pokemon the moves before we pit them in a vs fight.

For example: say we pit Red against,......maybe....Natsu.

And for Reds team he is gonna use against Natsu, would his pokemon be able to use the TM's/HM/'s he can get in the games in the specific fight? With possibly prep required?

Note: This would ONLY apply to Pokemon who are owned by a specific trainer, like Ash's Pikachu, Cythina's Garchomp, Steven's Metagross, etc. so not just any wild pokemon or any pokemon from a random trainer can use them.

This would also only apply to trainers who have the TM's/HM's in their possession, meaning we wouldnt allow, for instance, Cythina to just go and grab any TM/HM and use it for her pokemon. As long as they canonically have them in their possession, then thats when they can use it for their pokemon.

Does anyone agree/disagree?

Well let's say if Red's Charizard in the games has say, Earthquake then we would put Earth Manipulation on Red's file. Or for example. Cynthia's Garchomp knows Flamethrower in game. So Fire Manipulation should be fine for her. But we would not put this on the species file.

Also Dragon would this be allowed for Legendaries who are owned by trainers, like Tobias's Latios/Darkrai, that Frontier Brain's Articuno, etc.? Or do we just count those as PIS/Game Mechanics?

Depends. Did these legends ever use moves not apart of their natural moveset. We only go by that and what they've officially done in the anime/manga/games.

Tm/Hm: Only if they used. Not "All the ones he can get"

Above moveset: the pokemon can learn anything, yet the trainer decides to leave it with specific moves. Same go for legendaries.

Wait what do you mean by this Aiden?

That scaling from TM/HM should be only for Trainers that canonically have it. Not assuming that "they could have them all"

And for the moveset: you already saw some Pokemon Profiles, they have all their possibly abilities, yet in the trainers profiles they have (OR AT LEAST SHOULD) the abilities showed

Since we accepted legendaries scaling to regional Pokemon, should the legendaries of Gen 1, 2 and 4 be scaled to Porygo's speed?

Has anyone calculated the KE of that Splash animation in Let's GO?

From eyeballing, it'll probably yeild 8-C to 8-B, maybe even 8-A
