Aight time for an actual character draft
Jeremy Joule
A 23 year old man. New to the life of piracy after abandoning his previous career as a mechanical engineer.
Appearance: Luffy body shape but slightly taller. Wears a blue striped black T-shirt and black trousers.
Personality: Laid back, enjoys a slower pace at life. Friendly towards most people. Will avoid killing whenever possible.
Hobbies: Assembling random machines, experimenting with his Devil Fruit, writing logs. He believes there's a lot of potential with electricity that the world has yet to discover.
What he's good at: A mechanic/engineer, quite smart at building stuff. Quite perceptive in combat. Book smart (his ship role might be a quartermaster and/or a shipwright)
Combat abilities: Has some experience fighting hand to hand and with a sword but he's far from being a master at it. A good marksman.
Devil Fruit: Electric-Electric Fruit
Basically a Paramecia version of Enel's Fruit. Similar abilities but without the Logia stuff. It has a good development potential, potentially giving the user access to electromagnetism with further mastery. But his capabilities with it right now are quite limited, only some basic electricity manipulation techniques.
Abilities: Electrocute (shocks people by touching them with his hands or his dagger), Lightning Bolt (fires lightnings at a not very far range)
Haki: None (at least as of now), may not have the right personality to awaken Conqueror's Haki.
Standard equipment: A dagger and two six shot flintlock revolvers (which he made himself). A safety helmet he kept from his last job. A light bulb he can power with his Devil Fruit
Personal belongings: A huge pile of metal and copper pieces. A bunch of tools he made himself that can be powered with his Devil Fruit. A notebook and pen.
Tier: 8-A, higher with Electric-Electric Fruit or Flintlock Revolver (way weaker than Luffy physically, only on his level with his guns and Devil Fruit)

Pascal
A white male call duck that constantly follows Jeremy around. May sometimes help Jeremy building machines. Is actually surprisingly strong for its size but no other noteworthy abilities (besides being a duck). Spends most of its time hunting bugs or sitting on Jeremy's head or shoulder.
Tier: 9-B (Can easily bust through walls and break wooden and steel poles by flying at high speeds. One shotted a bear by flying at it at top speed. Casually breaks rocks with its beak. Generates over 100 kilowatts of electrical power when running on Jeremy's generator treadmill)

Backstory
Jeremy lived on a rather poor isolated island, it heavily relies on shipping and trades for revenue. To help improve this condition, Jeremy decided to build a massive port and establish a shipping company, hoping to establish his town as some kind of a large scale port town, connecting the island to many other islands nearby, and revitalizing his town's economy.
Unfortunately he didn't realize that his town was previously taken over by a large scale shady shipping magnate, who have effectively bankrupted most people in the land and taken control over all shipping routes on the island. The two came into conflict. After a series of constant escalations, a battle broke out between Jeremy and the magnate's mercenaries, eventually culminating in the death of the magnate, with Jeremy himself surviving with only minor injuries thanks to his Devil Fruit powers.
With them gone, he helped establish the town's port, but after realizing that he now has become a wanted man for his actions, and the town he lives in won't be safe with him around, he and Pascal decided to set sail to the seas as a pirate alone. The town remembers him as a hero, and he hopes he can return home one day.
A few months later, he joined a new pirate group.

Age: 17
Appearance: Similar to Zoro in body shape, but less muscular, looking more like your average high school athlete.
Personality: Yoru is cold and distant to strangers and enemies alike, but will quickly warm up to friends. After he knows someone better, he will go through thick and thin in order to protect them. When drunk, gets extremely bombastic, and will be the life of a party.
Backstory: Not much is known about Yoru; one day, he just washed up on a beach as a small child along with the rubble of a ship. Even he doesn't know of his true origins, and he is on his quest to find out where he comes from.
After being rejected by the local towns people for being "an outsider", and was constantly being beaten and bullied for it. He trained himself vigorously to defend from the abuse and discrimination, and once he got strong enough, robbed the entire village, leaving with the loot on his new journey.
Abilities: Extremely skilled in sword fighting, having a noticeably fast quick draw, especially for the East Blue; has an "iron will".
Devil Fruit: N/A (For now)
Haki: None
Standard Equipment: One Nodachi-style blade, stored on his waist.
Tier: 8-A, higher with Quick Draw
