Luffy's greatest weakness has always been his lack of stamina at peak power compared to other characters of a comparable scale. I am not sure if he can endure during an entire Whitebeard War-style fight with the World Government even with Gear 5. He will likely really need the help of his entire Strawhat Grand Fleet and be saved for the most dangerous opponents only.

Anyway, as far as I have understood he has turned considerably stronger during the time skip (as Oda said that the series would quickly have been over with him as the protagonist), has the offensively strongest devil fruit, and rubber should have a certain weakness to melting.

I mean for some reason I used to be a bit fixated on Dormammu, just because he has a cool design and is scary and charismatic, and he is an absolutely irredeemable complete monster who is far worse than Akainu.
I have just grown very tired with genuine villains over time, as I have gradually learned that most of this world is ruled by them.
