Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you.
~ Friedrich Nietzsche
As the oceans subsided after the giant meteor, Gojira was still rampant. He tore the buildings apart as he then slowly started to evolve. His skin turned from yellow to red as he stood up and roared out, proving his dominance.

As he did, another roar blew out as another monster stomped forth. From out of the ocean came forth something giant. It was the size of a skyscraper, it's arms were massive and it had these weird "ears" that made it look like Mickey Mouse. This was Cloverfield. It roared at Godzilla, ready to tussle.

Both are High 8-C.

Speed is equal.

Both are in-character.

Battle is in Japan.

Win via KO, incap or death.

Who wins?

Shin Godzilla: 0

Cloverfield Monster: 2

Inconclusive: 0

Clover could hold the upper hand in melee; his long limbs and Godzilla's poor mobility would help him batter and toss around the latter pretty well. I'd say he should be more than tough enough to shrug off Goji's attacks, since it took MOABs to kill him. Clover might be able to pin down and maul Godzilla to death after a while.

Pretty sure Clover can't win this. Both have High 8-C Ap with 8-B dura but Shin has dura negation with radioactivity while Clover is just a brawler. And Clover has no calc linked on it's page so Shin's dura is around 10x Clover's AP.

To humans, perhaps. But even if it were to affect a fellow kaiju like Clover, it'd take far too long for whatever effects that might have occurred to give Godzilla any possible win; by that point, Clover would have already won.

Execpt, not really. Shin's dura is way too much for Clover to even damage it. In fact, radiation is the only method either can damage thier opponent.

If in-character, then shouldn't Godzilla just evolve here as soon as Clover becomes problematic? It takes about 20 seconds for him to increase his mass hundredfold when going from second to third form, if not less (some of that time is spent on reconfiguring his body rather than simply growing). A minute should be enough to outgrow him and then some. If somehow too much energy is required for that, he could still develop anti-Clover measures of some sort fast enough to matter, but this is where things get hazy as his adaptations make little sense (instead of stopping growing, he reinforces his body with a new element and the adaptation against aircrafts is straight up overkill)

I've just noticed that my vote didn't count.

Clover just doesn't stand a chance as he has no way to incap Godzilla before reactive evolution kicks in. Killing him isn't even an option here.
