Does Jiraiya start out in Sage Mode, and are you allowing Fukasaku and Shima to be used alongside Jiraiya?

He'll start out in Sage Mode, and I'll allow Fukasaku and Shima to help in keeping him in Sage mode and doing combo attacks (like oil+fire justu). But they can't perform attacks by their selves.

The only way Jiraiya wins is if he manages to take Netero down from outside his reach with a genjutsu or something.

Really wondering how Jiraiya has anything that'll touch Netero. Netero speedblitzes massively hypersonic with relative ease and Jiraya is smart, but his thought processes aren't quite Meurem level. He also isn't as durable so he can't use the same strategy. So netero effectively has a near absolute defense against him. Even if we equalize Nen to chakra to allow genjutsu, Netero can control his own nen well enough.

You realize that speed is equalized, right? :/ You can't speed blitz if you and the opponent are the same speed. XD

Does that apply to netero's prayer movements or standard? Because Muerem was far beyond Netero's movement speed or even his true combat speed, but was still getting speed blitzed by Netero's Hatsu Technique.

The speed equalization, if it applies to the (hatsu)statue, means Jiraya probs stomps because netero couldn't react outside of his hatsu use which jiraya could reasonably dodge.

The only wild card would be netero's suicide moves.

Netero wasn't blitzing Meruem; he was keeping Meruem from blitzing him by keeping meruem at a distance so he would have just enough time to react to him. resulting in the fight we saw.

How does Jiraya dodge the 100 type when it can attack from multiple directions at, more or less, the same time; and that's not even counting 99th hand. Additionally the 100 type attacks at Netero's reaction speed.

Netero definitely blitzed muerem at the beginning. Meurem could not dodge the attacks of netero's hatsu(he had to predict to get through later on) and when he was being beaten into the ground he had no defensive options other than being really durable and even at the full arms reach away he took hits, but netero also could not dodge meurem's attacks.

So... I think it's pretty important to define exactly what speed equalized means.

Because if netero had to rely on his combat speed, he would have been blitzed, but he instead could use his reaction speed, which meant he could move so fast that even neferpitou barely could see it, and his prayer and attack time were faster than Meurem could react to.

In short, are we giving Jiraya the speed to react on a greater level than meurem? Keeping in mind that if netero isn't using the 100 type Jiraya would then be much too fast for netero to react to in any meaningful way? Because when using the 100 type, thats what equalizing speed would mean yeah? Since the type 100's attacks are effectively his combat speed as long as its up?

would i be correct in assuming that Jiraya's combat and reaction speeds are the same as each other unlike Netero's?

They're effectively the same, yeah,or at least jiraya doesn't have something like netero, where he can instantly mount a defensive and offensive option.

After thinking about it, since type 100 can probably protect netero if he needs it, netero probably wins no matter what we assume. Still, its a weird situation.

True.

It occurs to me that we could give Jiraya Meruem's speeds since they were like an average between Netero's reactions and combat speeds.
