Wow Saber Deermud is actually pretty strong.

According to Mizukume

"His NP is rank B, anti-unit, max 1 target. The demonic swords given to him by Manannan, when true name release it represents the god's foot stomping the enemy. Can manipulate fate. Brings victory to him and death to the enemy.

If he chose to bring this and Gae Dearg in his last journey instead of Gae Buidhe and Beagaltach, he would've killed the demonic boar and lived.""

@Dragon: When you think about it, probably yeah. Though Tamamo as Amaterasu or whatever would probably still the strongest out of those three.

@Ram: Really now? Dang lol

Ah. And yeah, that's what I said earlier above with Diarmuid in his legend.

IDK if he truly would have turned over his curse of being killed by the Boar in his legend, but I think he would have had a much better chance of living through it had he brought those instead of Gae Buidhe and Beagaltach. Which also now makes sense of that Craft Essence of the Boar that killed him by having the former in its jaws and the latter in a broken state in one of its hoofs...I think.

Anyways if the sword ability of Moralltach is true and you combine that with the use of Gae Dearg, that makes Diarmuid pretty damn OP in his own way...if he was ever allowed to be summoned in a way like how his legend depicts him to use his weapons in.

@QB Did a machine translation of the JP text. Seems like the ability is legit.

Wew. Diarmuid's pretty metal for a Cu Chullain lite. Apparently, Diarmuid killed 3400 men on his own in his legend.

800 men x2 in 3hrs, 900 men x2 in 4hrs, consecutively.

He also killed a giant with the giant's own weapon.

Fionn lost to his son 3 times straight despite being vastly weaker in a game they were playing, because Diarmuid, above the trees kept throwing berries at the pieces the son would need to move to win.

On another note, Prana Burst (Leap), I had to look up from his legend. Best I got is this.

  • In a land walled on all sides and surrounded by his former allies, he told them not to compromise their duty despite them offering to let him and Grainne through. Grainne slipped away with the help of his foster dad, but Diarmuid himself vaulted over the tall fence while the knights of Fianna were still at the entrances.

Huh he has Prana Burst (Leap) because he was raised by Gods which gave him super jumping ability. Because he has this skill his agility is ranked down. It gives him explosive attack damage and mobility boost when activated.

So that's why his datamine stats showed him having lower AGL than his Lancer self.

Ah. But that doesn't seem that bad of a trade off though. As Lancer, he's already up there as one of the fastest Servants when not counting those who have speed buffs on them to make them go faster (Looking at you, Achilles or whoever else that has speed boosts even when they're A or A+ speed at base). But as a Saber, he ends up slower but gains a special ability that makes up for it.

Yeah.

It's actually a good trade. He lost a + modifier for his Agility but still has great mobility with Prana Burst and he also gets a + modifier for his Strength and he can now do explosive damage with Prana Burst. Though he can't use his love spot as a Saber.

Aye. Going from A+ to A in Agility isn't that bad of a trade off to me (unless the + makes it that much of a difference?).

And yeah, just saw some comments at FGO wiki about that. Weird...

I assume it's because Saber Diarmuid is his legendary knight aspect while Lancer Diarmuid is the aspect that puts emphasise on the tragedy between him and Grainne

That could be the reason, and one I can get behind.

@All: Anyways, IDK if this has been talked about but it was mentioned before in the last thread (although that one person didn't exactly used those that have this trait) but is there any reason why a Servant's Divinity skill that allows them to "purge" special defenses or whatever like Achilles immortality thing not listed on their profiles?

I and Ever talked about this on Skype plenty of times and we kind of went to a conclusion of sorts that it can be some kind of invul pierce thing like in-game but an actual thing but the ranking's of that Servant's Divinity in question is what determines the degree of purging they can do (apologies to everyone that don't get this).

To make an example that I still remember clearly of our talk of it (and this example is Ever's, not mines), let's say there's a character that has armour that's tough and you need to have Divinity to pierce through that persons defense (so basically Achilles but not him...moving on). Ever's example was if Rider! Medusa were to try and pierce through the armour with her Divinity, she would only be able to make a chip on it due to her E- rank. While someone like say, Herc's or Karna or even Gil w/o his hate on the Gods though that implies having to summon a Gil before he came to absolutely hate them, with their A-rank and up (Gil w/o hate, I mean) Divinity would just allow them to completely bypass it and destroy the armour.

I THINK I've seen only one profile that notes this (can't remember who though, atm) but my question here is should we list this among the P&A's of the Servants who have Divinity and this special trait or is there a reason why it never gets brought on there even if it apparently says so?

Isn't it more their (the ones with selective invulnerability) weakness than a special ability of theirs (the ones with divinity)? Gotta be sure about that first, and who else has such selective invul.

TBF, I wasn't even trying to really talk with Ever about that but he got me around with it and felt it might be important to bring it up here when I remembered it.

It could be weakness related, although I always thought that was more specific and in-universe only because I'm not even sure how much of a factor this would play out to those that aren't part of the Fate verse. (Shrugs)

Divinity lets you break through/reduce special defensive abilities in proportion to your divinity rank.

Purge Defense/Anti-Purge defense are special defensive abilities that lets you defend against world ending attacks. Examples include Saver's Enlightenment skill.

We should explain it better because right now our profiles are a bit misleading.

Huh. Well there's me and my derpy mode acting again.

That should probably be good to do that. Whether or not we should also list it in the P&A section like how things seem to be added when listing specific skills like Siegfried getting bonus dmg against Dragons or Anne/Mary getting theirs the more disadvantage of a situation they are in is up for a possible topic talk I guess (shrugs)

Our profiles word it in a weird way.

Hurting Achilles is more a case of the weakness of his defense than def pierce I think, because he can still be hurt by god forged armaments (Divine Constructs) and I don't think they can reduce def.

It's probably worth listing in the P&A anyway but it's going to be hard to use in vs debates.

Huh...actually, I wonder why he's constantly listed there then now that you mention it. Granted it might still be due to how he needs, in-verse wise, to be hurt fully by someone who has equal or greater divinity than him? IDEK.

I don't think it's that bad to list it but yeah, it might be hard to properly debate it with how it works.

from my understanding, 'Divinity' seems to be too niche of an 'Anti-defense' ability. I mean it only works in breaking 'faith-based defenses' usually possessed by the likes of christian saints.

It's just a thing that may or may not be brought up again, that's all.

Even if it's not that useful in any vs debates against those outside of the Fate works, I do agree with what Ramessess said about the thing regarding it piercing through Achillies immortality thing and rewriting it or whatever/however he said it.

When's that ever going to be done is beyond me. (Shrugs)

just watched Extella Link videos on youtube.

SPOILERS
damn, it just hadn't really hit me until Charlemagne said it many times that he's just merely irregular. that next time we're aiming to summon Charlemagne, we'd get Karl instead. because Charles is just mere shadow.

and indeed, Charlemagne 'ran away' from Karl after both of them got summoned by SE.RA.PH. which I find weird that Charlemage who embodies fantasy part of Karl der Grosse's legend and being Saber to boot, should have much more 'fighting power' than Karl who's a Ruler.

I mean, its said that Charlemagne can draw Joyeuse's power better than Karl, because Karl is much more focused on 'Ruling aspect' (being based on real historical Karl) than Charles.

interestingly, I think its hinted that Karl's real young appearace does indeed resemble Charles'. and they share a history that is : both Charles and Young Karl found/met Altera/Attila in some kind of ruins. and both wanted to save Altera. and that feeling hadn't disappear even after their death, when summoned by SE.RA.PH, both still remember Altera. but fortunately, Altera had been saved by Hakuno.

lol at Gilgamesh being captured by Karl's machine and needing to be saved by Hakuno... only to **** off with Vimana after being saved.

Arjuna's use of pashupata was to annihilate whole sector... which isn't very impressive imo.

I'm surprised on how much screentime Gilles has. seriously, Gilles and Karl are like opposite to each other. one hates God, and the other absolutely loves God.

It said that one of her personal skill can give a person a one time immortality and the strenght like that of a beast. Nothing was really said explicitly about her being a Beast in that mats
