I trail off as he kinda falls through the floor.

He is now gone.

The portal gun stops working.

I check if the batteries are missing.

There is no more portal gun

I turn around. "What's the matter?" I ask Ashley.

I look at Alex.

"The portal gun has disappeared ! "

I try to hide my shock. "Did it just dissapear? You didn't notice anything?"

"We should look around" I say before summoning Jaller. Jaller searches the area and the bastement while using sonar.

I say nervously.

I look around and check if anything of the mall has changed since before we went downstairs.

i say to Alex,

Using logic i figure out that it's very likely that is the drug guy that is doing this, since he's no longer in the room and i didn't see him leave trough the ladder.

i try to remember how he looked like.

i try to think about the fact that we kill whoever is doing this

I can connect the dots. This started happening after he majorly injured himself on the arrow. Nothing happened with my cut. Therefore, the more lethal the wound, the higher the output.

I stab myself through the chest with the arrow.
