I hate them too. They were solely introduced to fix balancing problem that wasn't even a problem unless you were a total novice and caused a metric shitload of balancing problems in the process of being added, not to mention they completely ruined the bulk of team synergies and made fighting types absolutely worthless in competitive.

you mean other than the fact that all notable dragon pokemons were considered ubers and garchomp was almost unstoppable ?
 
Tfw there's only 9 Dragons in OU anymore. Worst part is, two of them are Pseudos (Dragonite and Garchomp), 3 of them are Megas (Charizard, Latios, and again, Garchomp), and 3 are Legendary (50% Zygarde, White Kyurem, and again Latios). Only one that's none of the above is Kingdra.

Yeah, because a type just can't be strong. It had 2 weaknesses and they were normally super effective against nothing. Nothing compared to Gen 1 Psychic....
 
First of all, the vast majority of Dragons were not ubers. Second of all, Garchomp was only unstoppable if you let it run away and/or let it set up. For the most part, Garchomp and Dragons were manageable, predictable even.
 
Pokemon who would've been OU are mid to low end UU now thanks to fairies....This is the kinda shit Fairies did. It ruined multiple Pokemon. That were not "OP"
 
I don't really have an issue with the Fairy type as a concept, but I feel they should be weak to more than the most defensive types in the game, and instead resisted rather than being immune to Dragon. Why would a fairy be outright immune to a dragon's attempts to claw its face open? Making fairy types dragon killers is fine, but the way they handled it just doesn't make sense.

Also they should give Ice some more resistances. Its literally a hindrance if you aren't something like Weavile.
 
and for the ruby and sapphire remakes, just catch the bugs from the forest, they have poisonous moves

for X and Y, just catch a weedle, which is a pokemon you can get on the second first location to catch pokemon

Ugh. They actually made one of my best friends quit competitive Pokemon after 5 years of being one of the best players I knew. They get all this special treatment and it pisses me off to no end.

@Cal. Agreed. Nothing is better then G1 Tauros spamming Hyper Beam.
 
The issue is that they were trying to balance something that didn't need that much balancing. Introduce more useful ice types. Buff Pokemon like Articuno or Lapras or something.

To clarify, Tauros, Chansey, and Snorlax (in that order) were the top 3 members of the Seven Deadly Staples, followed by Exeggutor, Starmie, and Alakazam (in that order). The last member of the Seven Deadly Staples was fought over between Golem and Rhydon.

difference ? black kyurem was ment to be a physical attacker

So much this. I don't even think they had to go that far, just packing Icebeam on any competent Special Attacker did the job for me.
 
you could probably wish that Gen 1 Mewtwo is the strongest pokemon definitively, god, he would kick all fairy types ass in gen 1
 
No matter how much moves you give to ice type, it will always suck. Ice types can only be good despite their typing, not because
 
can i bring up amnesia in gen 1, its the most Broken move in gen 1, as it doubles special, which is many times better special
