Mewtwo, as we know, at the end of Movie 1/22, did some time fuckery, and set everything back to before anyone left the harbor (given even the people who didnt leave acted like nobody left yet or was shocked that Joy was there as well).
But one thing I've never seen mentioned is that New Island, at the end of both, featured overgrown plant life, clearly not a coincidence. I propose Mewtwo, be given the ability to grow plants and wild life, nothing big but it's clearly something he did off screen.
