Mewtwo Vs Tornado of Terror

True but just because they were fixed later on doesnt mean they still cannot have them as actual moves and theres no evidence that pokemon that arent shown anymore like that Dragonite and Ash's Snorlax have been reverted back to having just 4 moves

They can still have them, they just can't have more than 4. If they come back, they'll probably be fixed.

Given all this, I believe the anime can't be used as evidence to say the 4 moves rule is invalid.

The only part of that which might contradict the 4 moves rule is Yellow's 'Dex entry which states it never forgets what it learns.

My point was that 4-move limit and high intelligence are not mutually exclusive. It wasn't a baseless assumption.

Regardless, even if Pokemon could learn more than 4 moves at a time, then just how many can they learn? Are we simply to assume they know everything that can be taught to them, including TM and tutor moves, at the same time?

in the anime id say at least just any move thats naturally learnt and HM/TM since Hms and Tms dont exist in the anime but there are still move tutors left in it so i assume tutor moves can still be left out.

as for the games could it be that pokemon just choose not to use more than 4 moves? like when would non legendary pokemon have a reason to use more than 4 outside gameplay that strictly ban it? They dont have a reason to show off moves more than 4 so they can just follow that law within game mechanics

We'll keep it safe as Wild Pokemon don't have access to tutor or TM moves unless stated otherwise, but they should have access to their natural movepool.

@Talonmask Do-S and Goddess Glasses possessed mind control psychic powers. Also you can't ignore the explicit language of the series.
