Metal Gear Discussion Thread

it can go higher, in theory the cap is 1px before the arc of his blade but have fun getting that clip.

Feat's hypothetical cap is MHS, like mach 300?, which i have in a dogass blog with somewhere.

it's a muscle suit, he wears, to make up for the fact he shouldn't even be walking. So both.

Would like to do MSX / MGS1 / MGS2 / MGS4
If it helps with the keys I’ve made a sandbox reworking how Snake’s equipment section works. Haven’t got around to adding everything from MGS4 just yet though because I’d probably have to dedicate a whole day to that.

I found this on the codex wiki, MHS results
That's only High Hyper tho

Anyway, port ops may or may not have some very good speed feats

The more I think about it the characters should have a variable rating for weapons since some are lower than their physical AP and are just piercing attacks.

For example, Old Snake has a portable rail gun which is 10 Megajoules, so he should be:
8-B. Varies, at least 9-B up to 8-A with weapons”

Usain Bolt when he has to race the average Genome Soldier

Forgot to mention this, but don't forget to add some of the Twin Snakes weapons for MGS1 as well. (The M9 and PSG-1 T)
I'd actually leave that out for its own profile since I'm pretty sure Twin Snakes isn't canon to the mainline series.

It is, explicitly, despite what contrarians would have you believe. Hell, the thing mfs yap about, the cutscenes, were all done in-house at KojiPro even, and if ya actually look into interviews from when the game was coming out, they make it pretty explicit it's intended to be canon.

I genuinely never knew or looked anything up about it. Since it was only produced by Kojima and drastically different presentation wise I always just assumed it was its own continuity or version of events. Do you have any links to any of those interviews where they talk about it? Also does that mean that Twin Snakes takes priority over the original MGS or are they simultaneously canon?

I do have links in a sticky, on the old pc, so.... ya can prob just look up silicon knights stuff from like 2004.
And they're both canon. It's like a Metroid ZM game and ZM manga type deal, or both Zelda Oracle games at once type thing.

Both are fine, unless there's explicit contradictory evidence between them, fortunately, there isn't such thing. The biggest diff, is Snake dodges Wolf's bullet in TS, while in OG he gets shot in the ******* chest and walks it off.

The presentation was something Kojima himself wanted, he got his action movie buddy director to make the cutscenes high-octane on purpose, the shift comes from just the verse itself going more action-based, just look at MGS2, which Twin Snakes is built off of, one of the first cutscenes is Snake dodging a bullet and doc ock suit mf deflecting rapid fire heavy machine guns, and goddamn ******* vampire, etc. Just how it be.

People will complain about Twin Snakes cutscenes while ignoring that MGSV has a ******* Gundam and Wormholes. People will say Snake is a peak human while in MGS3, BB (Who is actual fodder to MG1 Snake) is acknowledged as superhuman by Kojimbo himself.

OG has dumb shit too, dudes just dont pick up on it, somehow.
Gray Fox bullet shit is in both.
Snake takes a high powered ******* mercury tipped bullet to the chest, in a cutscene, and walks it off.
Liquid tanking big ass explosions in both.
Gray Fox catching REX's stomp is in both.
Snake dodges a ******* tank shell in OG with a flip.
etc

God forbid Snake dodges a bullet (stuff the LAST game established in cutscenes, and stuff the og established via Fox and uh, Snake himself dodging a tank shell which is like 5x a bullet).

What even is Snake Tales
Basically VR system turns out to affect actual universes with something they call the koppelthorn engine

just realized they might actually scale to it due to killing gurlugon, who was the singularity that represented the warp in the parallel universes

Anyway, did anyone notice that this exchange happens while the cigar is still in the air and only drops after it was over?

Random question, but is Raiden's Jamais Vu extra ops in MGSV a reference/sequel to Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eraser (MGS3 secret theater)? Especially since both have Raiden time travelling and the latter mentioning a metal gear solid 5
