Little Mac vs Rocky Balboa

I am aware that there have been discussions of this particular matchup in the past, but they have never reached an official verdict.

This is a boxing match. It is 1987 Mac against Rocky IV Rocky. Speed is equalized since otherwise it would be a blitz in favor of Mac. Rocky should have a slight AP advantage as well as the stamina advantage, but I believe that Mac has the skill advantage due to facing more varied opponents with gimmicks.

Little Mac
Rocky Balboa

Not only is Mac probably more skilled but relevantly he's a lot more agile. Rocky's strategy is mainly to outlast his opponents and wear them down, against a much quicker and smaller opponent who can regardless match him blow for blow he's going to be taking a lot more punches than Mac does, and that will allow Mac to quickly and repeatedly build up Star Punches, which will eventually spiral out of control for them. Worth noting that Rocky's never really fought people much smaller than him (and may not initially expect a featherweight to be comparable to him in strength), whereas Mac is very used to fighting larger opponents.

Little Mac is more skilled like many many times

Basically @Armorchompy pointed it out perfectly. So I ask: is this a mismatch/a stomp?

AP gap is pretty steep here; 25 kJ for Little Mac vs 62 kJ for Rocky Balboa. I'm not entirely sure if skill will cut it.

Mike Tyson (and a few other opponents) can knock out Mac with a single punch and he still beat him. This does make things closer though, if only because Mac will really need to keep hitting him over and over to cause any damage. Worst case though, he can win on points, this is a boxing match so that's a viable wincon.

How is Mac more skilled exactly? Both profiles don't really show their skill feats

(it's one or the other, i think

also worth noting "one-shot" here is just getting knocked to the ground, he can get back up so it's not that severe

but generally yeah he's gone up against way more kinds of people than rocky and generally at a bigger deficit)

I know grace is up but aren't Mac's opponents usually cheaters? Meanwhile Rocky is duking out with fighters with statements of being the best boxer in the world.

Mac also fights the best boxers in the world, they just happen to um, have a looser definition of "boxing" in the Punch-Out setting.

they would be in real life, WVBA is just ran by psychopaths who let them ******* teleport in the match

Worth noting that in every Punch Out the best boxer and final boss is always a man with basically no gimmicks, who is just very strong and very good at the sport. So you know, it's not just a clown show. It's just mainly a clown show.
