Laxus Dreyar's Current Power

Okay so first theres this guy named Ajeel and he's one of the Spriggan 12 we can assume he's just as strong as Brandish I suppose. Natsu was able to damage him with just a standard punch while Makarov is crapping his pants then realizes how strong his "children" have really become. (P.5) http://*********.com/Manga/Fairy-Tail/Fairy-Tail-447--Escape-Battle?id=237558#5 So then Ajeel tries to destroy the FT Guild with a huge sandwave I'm pretty sure Natsu could've handled it if Makarov let him out but yeah Laxus blows that crap away with a measily bolt of lightning (P. 11-13) http://*********.com/Manga/Fairy-Tail/Fairy-Tail-447--Escape-Battle?id=237558#11 then the guild is teleported to that ship which doesn't effect Dragon Slayers motion-sickness and Laxus nukes the place with a massive thunder dome (P.17-20) http://*********.com/Manga/Fairy-Tail/Fairy-Tail-447--Escape-Battle?id=237558#17 which isn't even a named attack so this isn't even scraping the surface of his power and then dragon force...my god. This attack nearly killed the "Mighty Ajeel" stated on page 20 so yeah.

CALL IN THE CALCULATION FORCE!

We will have ot wait for a confirmation.

You can ask the calculation group. Although if I remember correctly, that is lightning, not an explosion.

Actually, I think that Enel is rated as Small Island level in terms of environmental destructive capacity with lightning, but Town level physically.

As far as I am aware, explosive combustion and massive lightning strikes are very different things.

The Massive Lightning Strike that eliminated the Sand Tsunami is a Lightning Strike obviously, The Lightning Dome that he Dropped would be considered an explosion because it has a shockwave associated with it and the lightning is rushing outward it's magic afterall. How does one address the Calculation Squad? Is there a password...

Ok, so I took a first look at the feat.

I should mention to the scaling of the explosion that I used a tool to determine the center, because the full diameter of the explosion wasn´t anywhere in the picture.

It was said in the calc thread that Ichiya is 2' 10"(0.8636 m) tall. I will rely on that for now, but should we get a good result from this we will need to have proof of that.

First picture:

0.8636 m = 310 px

0.0027858064516129m = 1 px

2.1840722580645136m = 784 px

Second picture:

52.8 px = 2.1840722580645136m

1 px = 0.0413650048875854848m

354 px = 14.6432117302052616192m

Around 15 meters seems way to small for the explosion. That is because we view it from a large distance away. If we could tell how far away we view it from I could find out the actual size of the explosion, but I don´t see a way to measure the distance.

So that is the first problem we would need to solve. The second is how we actually calculate the energy of a giant ball of lightning.

So that is what I get for now. Maybe someone else has an idea how to further calculate that.

Thank you. I will ask some of the other calculation group members for input help.

This panel on the left shows the distance from the crater to the ship:

132
The obvious complaint would be that the ship would have moved further from the epicentre than it was when the explosion dissipated; my counterpoint would be this panel from a couple of pages down:
133
Where we see that the ship has residual lightning in its immediate trail. Even if you can't use 100% of the distance from the panel above you could justify atleast 80% with this evidence.
As for calculating energy from the size; I say we just calculate the damage in creating the crater you see above; that's atleast pulverisation.

I'll angsize the distance now and post again in a few minutes.

I've captioned these two images; the image three in my scaling is the left panel in my first post, the green line is the height of the ship.

Thank you for the help Rib.

I am not sure if this image is really from the perspective of the crater? But continuing from the results.

I will do a few possible calculation, since I don´t really know which one would get accepted the most.

First if we use the formular Retinal Size= Size of Object/ Distance of object we can get the true radius of the explosion now.

Retinal Size * Distance of object= Size of Object

14.6432117302052616192m * 790.5608m = 11576.34918000045578988404736m

My first solution I will get by using the nuke calculator for the explosion size. (I think ground contact airburst is the right value here)

That results in 1100 megatons. That would be large mountain level.

The crater size is likely the better method for this, as a lightning ball is different from a fireball.

So I will post that next once I have finished it.

the right value is always "Air blast radius (near total fatalities)" we always use it, its one of the things that never changes...

For the calculation of the crater we see it here how large it is.

Now I am not sure what form teh crater has. It isn´t very clear to me.

So I will calculate one time assuming it has the Volume of the spherical cap of the explosion with the surface being the plane that cuts off the cap and one time I will calculate it as cylinder with the depth taken by the size of the walls in the picture.

Spherical cap:
Fairy scaling 3 1
picture 1

For that the we look at picture one. I have added in another line that goes from the center to the ground. That line is 290 px long. That are 11.995851417399790592m Retinal Size.

11.995851417399790592m * 790.5608m = 9483.4498932207123702439936m

Formular for the Volume of a spherical cap:

450px-Kugel-kappe.png

h = 11576.34918000045578988404736m - 9483.4498932207123702439936m = 2092.89928677974341964005376 m

Using the formula we get V = 149700818622.637 m^3 = 1.497008e+17 cm^3

Pulverization value is 214.35 (j/cc).

1.497008e+17 cm^3 * 214.35 (j/cc) = 3.208836648e+19 J

That is Large Mountain or Small Island Level.

Cylinder:

In order to determine the diameter of the cylinder we use the Volume formula and results we got for the spherical cap and solve to a. a = 6638.9787211640636768m = radius of the cylinder.

Fairy scaling 4
picture 2

Now looking at picture two we measure the depth of the cylinder.
The green line is the diameter.

green = 327 px = 2*a = 13277.9574423281273536 m

1 px = 40.6053744413704200416 m

60 px = 2436.322466482225202496 m

Cylinder = ¤Ç*r^2*h = ¤Ç*(6638.9787211640636768m)^2*2436.322466482225202496 m = 3.374E+11 m = 3.374000E+17 cm^3

3.374000E+17 cm^3 * 214.35 (j/cc) = 7.232169e19J

That would be Island level.

Now we have 3 different results between Large mountain and Island Level. So it should be discussed which of the methods is the best one and errors should be corrected. Once that is done I will summarize the whole calc in a blog post so that it can be easier linked to.

Okay. Thank you for the help everybody.

So Laxus is getting upgraded to Large Mountain level (Or higher) and the other characters are getting powerscaled to him?(Because I doubt that Laxus is massively stronger than Natsu and some other characters).

you've provided no proof or shown any scan that the volume you speek of actually got pulverized, show me a crater at least, somthing to hang on to...

I'm fairly certain that is the view from the crater given the copious amounts of receading dust, and that it follows on from a view of the crater and is followed immediately by a view deeper within the crater.

And for the record; I'd support spherical cap > cylinder.

@SwordSlayer99: I think it is too early for powerscaling. I don´t think we really know who currently is stronger than whom.

@Illuminati478: The right panel of this image is the best we get for a crater. It is hard to really see anything on it, which is why I made two versions for volume, but I have to say I am not sure if any of them should get accepted.

@Rib78: Hmm... ok. It is another uncertainty in the calculation.

It might be better to use 120J/cc rather than 214.35J/cc.

http://www.***********.net/fairy-tail/447/16

We can see on the third panel here small pieces of rubble within the dust cloud.
