+ Both are whitish cat-like creatures with smiling faces always present on them, these smiling faces also depict all kinds of their emotions/personalities/natures.
+ Both are non-human creatures that are also the first to meet with the main protagonist of their respective franchise and introduced themselves as guides (The Batter and Madoka).
+ Both also help the protagonists on their quest to defeat a certain evil (In the Judge's case, it's the Spectres and the bosses of each Zones; And Kyubey being the Witches).
+ As the story progresses, a much darker and bigger twist is revealed with the Judge slowly realizing it, and Kyubey already knows it but choose to keep it to himself to ensure his plans will forever go on (The Judge discovers what kind of person the Batter is and soon regrets his choice of ever guiding the Batter after the purifier revealed himself to be an apathetic and fanatical genocider; Kyubey keeps the sinister secrets of the fact that the Magical Girls would turn into Witches after their powers corrupt them and trap them in an endless cycle of death battles in order to use their energy as supplies.)
