Unable to move much, I panic trying to force my limbs out of the hold they were in, legs flailing widly as a pillar of sand flies from my mouth.

[Next time we build build a base, we are gonna combo the sand and magma to glass the walls and floor.]

The sand struck nothing but thin air as the serpents were attacking from behind, Donte still being dragged into the dirt by the predatory assailants.

Nicholas, noticing the serpents attacking Donte in the fissure. Jumps up once again and launches a huge shockwave towards the beast underneath Donte, trying to score a killing blow.

The magma spear managed to pierce through the serpent grabbing Donte's right arm, making it release its toothy grip and squirm around. The shockwave dealt by Nicholas struck the assailing creatures, making the pained shriek release into the air again as the serpent quickly released Donte and retreated, albeit the impaled one ended up splitting in two from the spear.

The ground rumbled fiercely however, for the assailing creature was simply even more enraged now. Before the survivors could react, the earth before Igneus and Nicholas exploded outwards, as the true creature revealed itself: an eyeless worm-like creature with a hooked beak and sizable mandibles, with the 'serpents' in fact simply its tongues. The burrowing beast let out a bellowing screech as it lunged at Nicholas and Igneus, its jaws parted wide to bite down upon them.

With the thing distracted by the others, I scramble away from the monster before turning to get some revenge.

"Eat dirt, mo********er!"

The sand breath actually flying in the creature's direction this time.

The sand breath struck the Graboid along its back, the sand particles scrapping the worm-like predator's back. With another enraged roar, the Graboid dug back into the earth, sending dirt flying into the air as it disappeared back underground.

Turning around, the Graboid shot towards Donte, erupting from the ground like a dolphin jumping from the sea as it parted its jaws, aiming to bite upon the survivor.

"Let's finish this." Nicholas jumped up as high as he could and came down unleashing his strongest possible shockwave directly at the creature as it lunged towards Donte.

The magma spear punctured the Graboid's side, bringing out a pained cry from the burrower as steam rose from its burning flesh, the wound unable to bleed for it had been cauterized. In just a few seconds later, though, Nichola's shockwave struck the airborne worm with great force, blasting open the predator's midsection and spilling out its internal organs.

The Graboid was launched onto its side, colliding with the ground and skidding over the earth. Coming to a halt after going over several meters, the blind creature lay still atop the dirt, painting the land with its nearly black blood. The beast had died upon being hit by Nicholas' shockwave.

If one were to look closely at the spilled organs strewn out over the ground beside the Graboid, and manage to not retch at the gruesome sight, they could manage to see the beast's ruptured stomach, revealing the partly digested remains of Charley Despo.

Nicholas sighs in relief.

"I did not expect to find creatures quite like these in this place. We should better fortify that fissure so that this doesn't happen again. Are you both alright?"

"It's fine to be scared by this. Not everyone is ready to deal with something like this, the fact that you're here and fighting with us means you're doing very good already."

Don't piss yourself, don't piss yourself, don't piss yourself.

"... well then, ummm ..... seeing as there are uber death worms just waiting to nom us on the ground, do we make camp in a tree? Cuz I feel like giant birds or dinos are a thing on this island and I'd rather the stork not come and take me away."

"Well, your power is to breathe sand, right? Perhaps you could combine your power with the lava to make glass walls?"

"No reason not to try. Maybe build it in a better place than just on the ground though. Don't need kaijus to play football with us."

"Well, try not to melt the tree, I suppose. Do you want to make it in the water or something? Because aside from the ground that's our only other option."

"In the water seems a bit ambitous right now. Maybe in a cave or the cliche behind a waterfall. Between us, it shouldn't be too hard for most places so we should plan it according to geography. Shelter is good and all but if we don't have resources, we are boned."

"I guess we'll have to head deeper then. Though my shockwaves allow me to move around in the air pretty well, I'd still rather have you all with me, I can scout ahead if necessary though."

"I'll back you up from range when the next lozard attacks if you are further ahead. That being said ..... do either of you know where we should head to? Surviving on monster infested islands isn't exactly my forte."

"Well, this island certainly isn't normal, that's for sure. For now, I suppose we head in deeper while remaining very careful and look for somewhere safe and defensible."

Nicholas heads into the forest, using his shockwaves to launch himself off of the various foliage looking for a safe place for the group to stay.
