Imbalanced World RP: Thread 2

Time to put him out if his misery.

I crank Typhoon to it's max capacity and perform a stage, holding my sword to the side, then dash towards the man, creating a sonic boom because of my sheer speed.

I literally soar trought the air and quickly cross the distance between me and the man, then swing Stormblade in a orizontal slash, aiming at his throat.

As Alexander wanders near the facility, he sees more figures, scientists being launched through the walls of the building and their corpses landing outside, people's bodies erupting in mana and exploding from the inside.

@Facility Group

Jirah and Silas would successfully dodge the blasts, the bed was vaporized upon contact with the man, a white energy engulfing it.

The Gloom Laser hits the man, doing some damage, however he still remains relatively unharmed.

The man does not have enough time to counter Jack's attack, however, as the blade is swung at his throat, Jack suddenly feels both his own weight and the weight of his blade vastly increase as the man's body sends out a white pulse, both Jack and his blade are pulled to the ground, however, the slash hits the man's leg, leaving a deep wound and causing him to scream in pain, Jack can still move, but his landing has left a moderately sized crater under him, the others also feel heavier, but not to the extent that Jack does.

The man seems to have grown quite angry, he infuses both his arms with white energy and strikes at Jack.

Harinder opens the door and finds more corpses, he feels an unusual sense of dread as he enters the room, the room has several desks and papers, it seems to be a room for noting down observations made in the containment area, a single out of place corpse can be seen near a door to another room. The Source is nearby, but not in this room.
 
Jirah started throwing whatever he could get his claws on at the man, grabbing anything within the room he could fling at the enemy.
 
Oh boy, looks like he isn't listening to reason.

I rush in from behind the man and try to pierce a hole in the shoulder that is connecting his blue arm with my lance.
 
"So these guys look like scientists, so I can guess what caused this anomaly."

Alexander wanders into the facility.
 
Harinder investigates the room, the papers, the desks, and the cupboards. He decides to investigate the corpses as well.
 
So ... heavy ... can't ... stand up.

I undo the speed boost of Typhoon, since it won't help now that i am grounded, instead concentrating my power to try protect myself from the man's blows by making the air in the surrondings rapidly rotate in a circle, creating a miniature tornado around myself.

Alexander enters the facility through one of the holes in its walls, he enters a small room holding many papers in it with a door leading further inside, he can hear crashing and crumbling from the room ahead. A sign on the door leading further says "Main Research Hall 1".

The man's punches clash with the miniature tornado, the tornado is dispelled, however the attack is prevented.

Any objects Jirah throws, which include more beds or machines, are simply crushed by the man's power.

The Gloom knives fall to the ground near the intended target and are crushed seconds after.

The lance misses the man and strikes the ground near him, Silas also feels very heavy, but can still move, if with difficulty.

Instead of attacking again, the man simply backs away slightly and gestures triumphantly: "YOU SEE?! This is the power they feared, The power they wanted to use as a weapon! CRUMBLE BEFORE IT AS YOU DIE WITH THE REST. This is my Mass Shift" The man smiles maniacally.

The rest of the group feel significantly heavier now too, not only those who were next to the man, cracks begin appearing in the walls, floor and ceiling of the room.

[I realize I never described how the man looks, I'll do that now, he has long, unkempt black hair and is wearing a torn gray shirt and black pants, he looks to be in his late 20s to early 30s.]

The scientists corpses are significantly damaged, the papers seem to detail the observations and experiments preformed in this containment area. The out of place "corpse", in reaction to Harinder's movements, gets up and stares at him, a young woman with brown hair wearing torn up clothes, she looks confused, her eyes show hints of anger when she sees Harinder, though she does not attack yet.

"Who.. Who are you?" She asks him. "You do not belong here."
 
Alexander begins looking through the papers for anything of interest.
 
"THE HELL WITH YOU !"

I shout as i create an ascending air current beneat me, to try counter the increese in my mass.

Then, i try to swing my sword at the man's chest.
 
"I'm Harinder, I came to check here, it seemed something terrible happened here, and I wanted to make sure those still here, are safe. Are you injured? I could see about healing you. " Harinder replied softly. Showing genuine concern for the woman.
 
I try glowing brighter to distract the man and impale him after moving behind him so that the glare doesn't effect everyone else as much.

Most of the papers are relatively mundane research, however they also detail 9 experiments contained in the facility, the experiments preformed on them, which include various stimuli, inducing certain reactions in their brain and more disturbing things such as inducing pain and emotional trauma. The papers also detail the abilities of some of the experiments, he notices three in particular:

Experiment 7

Ability: Inferno

Description: The subject possesses the ability to manipulate heat on an unparalleled level, once their power is activated, it engulfs their body and creates an expanding field around it, the heat and flames generated by this are easily capable of melting through most metals within seconds, the flames have unusual effects in some situations, unlike most subjects, they seem to possess some degree of control over this power.

Experiment 8

Ability: Mass Shift

Description: The subject possesses the ability to manipulate the mass of their surroundings, once activated, this vastly increases the weight of anything within a meter radius of the subject, the effects weaken as they get further away from the subject, however the area affected by the ability expands at a quick pace, the subject seems to have little to no control over this ability, the weight can quickly grow to crush objects within range of its full potential.

Experiment 9

Ability: Surge

Description: The subject possesses the ability to manipulate mana levels of those around them, once activated, the ability will distort and change the amount of mana possessed by anything in the area, extremely dangerous and has caused damage to equipment already, side effects unknown, amount of control unknown.

Alexander notices a few cracks forming in the walls of the room.

The anomaly seems to have favored Jack at this moment, as he feels his power rise enough that he successfully creates his air current and slices the man, it leaves a deep gash on his chest and the man recoils back in pain, despite this severe injury, he is still standing, his arm glows a little in response to the attack.

The man's power briefly weakens as he is cut, as a result, Silas successfully stabs through his torso with the spear, the lasers also hit him, as does the beam.

The man is heavily injured, to the point of practically being dead, despite this, he pulls himself off of Silas' spear and yells: "IF I'M DYING HERE, THEN SO ARE YOU!"

Silas feels very heavy, so much so that he can barely move, the man charges his glowing hand with a large amount of energy and goes to punch Silas.

"Safe? Nobody here is safe. That's why this happened, because of them. You came here to kill him, didn't you? To eliminate the one causing this "anomaly"? This place belongs to those who were confined here. People like me and him. Any who wish us harm will meet the same fate as these scientists. They brought us here, experimented on us, tortured us, to make us their weapons, this accursed city will vanish because of it." The woman responds, she seems to have noticed something about Harinder, as she isn't attacking yet, but seems wary of him.
 
"Why Would I attack him? As Far As I've seen he wants to be left alone. That doesn't mean, that other's won't though. I've seen the type of people that came in here, ahead of me. They'd kill him without a second thought. But, I have a unique position on things. I'm not the sort of person who has a control over my powers, and it tends to harm those that get near me, and To top it off, the only magic I can control is controversial. This Sword, I'm Wielding is Made of Impure Mana, This backpack? The Same stuff. I'm an Impure Mana User, with the power of Backstab. It makes people's powers attack their hosts, and I don't have control over it. So, Whatever you do. I'd highly reccomend not attacking me. I don't want to hurt you, or anyone if I can help it. They Tried to kill me, because when I came in here, it activated. From What I understand that likely means that the area around him is harmful to people, and is likely why Backstab has been activating so frequently, and to top it off. If I had wanted to leave, I couldn't since The Way We came In was broken due to my power. Now, Is there any way I can help you or your friend? " Harinder replied.
 
"Ah humans, doesn't matter which world you in they never change, how comforting. Still I do think I found the reason for the anomaly"

Alexander picks up the papers on all the experiments, while looking at all the information on 9 in more deatil.
 
Since the enemy is distract i step foward, then pull my sword upwards and do an overhead swing against him, to try tear him in half or just cut him really bad.

As i go in for the attack, i remove the rising air flow from beneat the sword to use the increese in my mass to strenghten the blow.
 
Despite the increasing weight of the gravity around, Jirah kept on firing beams of flame at the glowing enemy.

Alexander looks at the notes on Experiment 9, as he does so, he can see that Experiment 9 was treated with great interest, the scientists wrote that his power had great potential for weaponization, as well as that they had difficulty with keeping it stable, they had subjected him to extensive mental and emotional trauma in an attempt to understand and unleash his abilities. Some writings indicate that some scientists were disgusted with this treatment, but accepted it as they had no choice. The notes also state that Experiment 9 is the most dangerous subject held in the facility.

Alexander hears a crash and sees a bright light through the edges of the door.

@Facility group

The gloom laser hits the man head on, yet he doesn't react and keeps closing in for his punch.

As the man is about to strike Silas, Silas feels something change within him, he feels a light rising up from within his body, he feels power welling up, in an instant, a massive bright light escapes his body. Silas' body has changed, he has released the divine blood within him, he appears like this, the weight increase now feels insignificant to Silas. The attacker is blown away by this light and send directly into Jack's slash, which splits the man clean in two. The halves fall to the side. Jirah's attack burns what remains of the man's body.

The weight quickly begins to fade away from everyone it affected.

Silas floats in front of the group, the power within him feels incredible, he feels that he has an unparalleled connection to his element, Light, as if he was light himself. The group have some difficulty looking at Silas' body due to the bright light it is emanating.

The woman's eyes no longer show hostility.

"You... You're one of us? Your power. It's like ours. It's like his. Then why? Why are you here?" The woman pauses for a moment, then continues:

"He is in anguish. The one who caused this. It is due to this anguish that his power ran wild like this. It is expanding, it will eventually cover this entire city, some day, the entire empire, perhaps even the entire world at this rate, if it keeps up at this rate, everyone in this city will die. I don't want to hurt him, I won't let you hurt him, but you've got to do something. The guardian won't let anyone near him, he'll kill anyone who enters the room behind me. He's too strong for me to defeat alone."

"If you can find a way to help him, then I'll help you too." The woman says, showing a hint of resolve.

Harinder and the woman both hear a loud sound from the other side of the facility.

"They are here. Those who would kill him. We must hurry."
 
Harinder hearing the question responds with "I'm here to help, My power might be of death and betrayal, but I want to help whoever and however I can, and Hearing the danger of coming in, I felt like I had a good chance of being able to survive here While Others might not. " Harinder Nods "Of Course, I promise I will not hurt him If i have any say in the matter. I'll try my best" He walks over to the door, and opens it. He Expects death, he'd welcome it, perhaps if he died in the battle, She could save the man, as his power activates killing the threat, but right now. He Needs to give it his all. He feels dread, as he doesn't doubt the strongest threat would be here, and he had trouble fighting a golem on his own. He also can't kite it, by constantly backing up either, those who'd kill him would definitely take advantage of it if he did. He had no choice but to press on, and hope he could face it, but the only possibility he foresaw was his own death.
 
I put my sword back in to it's sheat, then use my left arm to cover my eyes.

"Mind lowering the intensity lightbulb ?"

I ask to Silas.
 
Deactivating Kaiju's Fury, Jirah growled in annoyance as he looked away from the bright light emitted by Silas.
 
My body...this power is intense. I should probably take advantage of this to finish up the singularity since it seems like it isn't over.

I give a thumbs up to Dies and try dimming my light a little.

"Alright guys, let's go to the other area."

I fly in the direction of the Containment Area.

The light burns through the door before Silas leaves, Alexander sees the group, a charred and split in half corpse and Silas glowing as they all begin to head off.

The gravity man had been attached to a bed of some sort, there were shattered devices all around, one of the larger devices in the area had a sign on it that said "Mental Modulator", it seemed to have a wire leading to what was left of the device the man had on his head when he was found. Aside from this, there was nothing of note in the room.

@Facility Group

Those who followed Silas begin heading to towards the containment area, they feel themselves getting closer to the source. As they open the door leading there, they see a hallway with 4 containment cells around it, covered by glass walls, there are some scientists' corpses around, the doors leading into the cells all have signs on them, the hallway turns right further ahead.

"If you're ready then." The woman says as the two open the door. What they see is a large room, there seemed to be some observation areas in the room, but, more notably, a massive light blue forcefield covered much of the room, they could feel the source located at the center of this forcefield. In front of them stood a figure, seemingly once a man, its features were difficult to discern, its body was completely blue and it held two blades made of mana in each hand, this was the guardian, he looked at the two with hostility, waiting to see their actions. Harinder could feel an absurd amount of power emanating from the man.

"There he is, That's the guardian. Move one step closer and he will begin attacking you." The woman said to Harinder.
 
"Oh hey you guys, I'm soooo glad I found you," Alexander said walking up to them with no attempt to conceal his sarcasm.
 
Deciding to follow the humans into the containment area, Jirah proceeded down the hallway, keeping an eye out for any more dangers.
 
@Facility Group (Now including Alexander)

The group sees a door at the end of the hallway after the right turn. They can all feel the source is behind this door, they can also hear a blast go off in the room inside and an incredible power awaiting them in there.

Suddenly, a massive surge of the anomaly occurs, as if in response to something, Silas is blown out of his divine bloodline form by this surge, despite this, he does not feel weaker at all, in fact, he and the group now all feel stronger than ever before.

As the blast connects to the man, the source seems to react, releasing a massive surge of the anomaly, despite this, Harinder feels himself growing stronger, he seems to have gained more power, just as the others did.

The man was unscathed by the attack, but is now hostile to Harinder.
