In Death Battles or crossover fanfiction, everyone says that One Piece characters can beat Fairy Tail characters because Haki can break through Magic. But since magic spells don't have a body of their own besides that of the caster, Haki users can't touch the spell. So How is Haki stronger than Magic?

Never heard anyone say that before. And you said Death Battle? Yeah it's best not to listen to them even if they said that. Magic doesn't exist in One Piece.
