Game awards 2020. Aka Last of us 2 simulator

I that it’s a popularity contest but last of us 2 should have lost in that case. They sold 4 million copies and over half the people who bought hate the game. so it would effectively be at most 2 million, I know not everyone who bought the game is going to be voting but still. Where as ghosts of Tsushima sold over 5 million and got universal praise. Doom eternal over 3 million sold and universal praise. I think this is a highway robbery. The most laughable one is the last of us won over doom eternal in the action category.

My two cents is that the game awards are pointless in the long run; it's about the effort put into the gameplay, the feedback and the overall enjoyment of the game.

So by that measure only the players choice award is the only one that actually has any merit (since its the actual gamers giving their input) while most of the other awards were decided by an echo-chamber (like the majority of award ceremonies).

Either way I'm indifferent to TLOU as a franchise (not a fan of the zombie genre in general tbh) so I'm not mad they were dominate in a ceremony I didn't care too much about but I will say regardless of what you feel about TLOU 2, don't deflect it on to the VAs (Abby's VA actually received death and even rape threats iirc).
