Adventure Time!
I feel the first match between these two ended waaaaay too quickly without any real discussion, it was just an echo chamber of "Finn wins". Im not arguing Finn wouldnt but I want to actual discuss the way this match up could actually go.
Finn has grass sword and is same tier as Saitama (5-B)
Finn vs Saitama
Battle is in Ooo
20 meters apart.
Speed equalized
in-character, willing to kill.
no knowledge or prep-time.
Here's MY take, I wil stay as neutral as possible in regaridng votes, but I want still want to give my thoughts on this match-up.
Finn would attempt to slash haphazardly with his grass sword. Saitama, used to dealing with sharp claws/ bladed weapons can dodge easily due to Finn's lack of skill in regards to using swords. Saitama as a BIG advantage in range with his shockwaves and despite tanking attacks most of the time, he has been shown dodging or catching bladed weapons (Fight against Beast King and Speed of Sound Sonic) this is from not wanting to get his costume damaged.
Also as a fight gets more tense, Finn tends to get more reckless and makes his moment to moment thinking suffer. Finn has nothing to really trick or really "surprise" Saitama with. Saitama has fought loads of dangerous and powerful monsters,
While its true Finn took out Orgalorg, Orgalorg really didnt...attack Finn. Which is the main source for Finn having a small planet Attack Potency in that part of the show. Finn has never really faced someone activwely fighting him that has the power on Saitama's range.
I will say that having a undisarmable sword on him IS a good advantage. But other than that property, its a sword that can sometimes grow to reach slightly larger lengths.
Finn's combat style works from his huge amount of tenacity and willpower, and using his occasional cleverness to surprise opponents, something I cant see happening to Saitama at least not more than once.
Overall, I would argue Saitama wins this due to range advantage, great control over his own speed and strength, and arguably more experience, but Finn certainly has chances due to the grass sword and his tenacity helping him deal with a character like Saitama.
