Dragon Ball Super Discussion Thread 100

The guy that made 'dragon ball miniscule cosmology' vid?

Both of these guys are dunces. The "DBZfans don't read" walking cliche is obvious but the other guy:

Body Change - Goku was weaker than Ginyu outside of Kaio-Ken and I'm pretty sure Goku wasn't in Kaio-Ken when Ginyu did it.
Moro's energy absorption - True, it did work on stronger opponents...until Goku got so strong he was so fast that he could dodge Moro's energy absorption and it was no longer effective.

So the only weakness there is the oxygen deprivation which is consistent everywhere but the Toei anime.

Guys didn't Moro literally drain almost all of Goku and Vegeta's life force, ki and souls before leaving them to die and they lived long enough to get healed and recover in 3 days

"Moro grabs the two Saiyans by the neck and absorbs the last bits of their energy altering his appearance slightly to look more youthful. With the battle over with, Cranberry comes over and using his Scouter pinpoints the location of the villages on the planet that should each hold a Dragon Ball."

"As Moro makes to head towards the nearest village, Cranberry asks if the two Saiyans are dead. Moro tells him that those drained of energy will perish on their own and they are no longer a concern of his as they use their spaceship to head off. The nearby Namekians rush over to the fallen Goku and Vegeta to find them still breathing."

Moro has Absorption (Moro can use various absorption abilities)
Energy/Ki Absorption (Absorbs Grand Supreme Kai and Vegeta's energy blast. Creates a massive energy ball from New Namek and eats it, even can choose where his absorbed energy is gathered)
Life-force Absorption (Took the life force of the Namekians and their planet by charging an attack. Absorbs so much energy from Vegeta that he can't go Super Saiyan, it also prevents Goku from using instant transmission)
Soul Absorption (Moro can absorb the energy he steals from planets, the energy he absorbs is described as soul and life-energy)

Wouldn't that mean goku and Vegeta have limited resistance to Soul Manipulation?

Meeeeeh. The Original Manga, yeah, (and if you suspend your belief by saying Goku going to Moon was simply too fast to count, the Demon Realm has oxygen, etc.), but in basically every game, (FighterZ, XV1-2, Raging Blast 1-2, BT1-3, etc.), Toei (Z, GT, Super Anime, and if you want to count the adaptation of Moon moment in OG, that too), the popular spinoffs, (Online, Heroes, Super Dragon Ball Heroes, the upcoming Divers), the Super Manga, etc. it’s basically almost always ignored. Either in the form of stages, (Space is typically a reoccurring one, where they fight on a barren asteroid, and everyone can fight there despite their race, such as the Humans, albeit not plot relevant), actually plot-connected and thus a major inconsistency (basically anything Time Patrol/Heroes related), some combination of these two, due to just being extended canon of an adaptation, (Z Anime Filler, the Films, GT), or literally being canon and not making any sense (Goku in both continuities is able to exist perfectly fine in the Erased Timeline that lacks oxygen). And that’s just off the top of my head. If anything, it’s the opposite.

(This also isn’t including how Goku, Vegeta, and Broly were going to fight in the surface of the Sun in DBS: Broly, but it was cut solely for time. Which has all sorts of implications we just aren’t going to get into.) The only time I can think of where it’s actually and actively brought up outside of the Original Series is in the Super Manga against Moro (which has the Erased Timeline sequence, so incredibly inconsistent), but also whilst Goku and Vegeta were seemingly, at least visually, beyond any atmosphere (even though they canonically weren’t. Similar to how BoGs calls the battle in space the Stratosphere, {and canonically is}, but logically they’d be in at least the Mesosphere or Exosphere.)

Because squid people live on that "asteroid" I have to believe it's just like a dwarf planet or some small habitable location and that's why Goku can breathe there, and not that Toyotarou forgot. This is ignoring how Goku and Gas put a GIANT HOLE in it and it DIDN'T REACT, meaning it is LITERALLY JUST A ROCK.

All true but I count Heroes and the games as Toei-adjacent because they use Toei-only content. And the erased timeline thing would be the outlier given they can't survive in space after that moment.

Fair, I suppose. But also, at least in terms of the Super Anime and Manga, that’s not the only outlier. When Goku accidentally lets go of Whis and starts drifting a bit in space for a few seconds, he was breathing perfectly fine in the anime. (While one could use the fact we humans would survive 15 seconds bare minimum, Vegeta suffocated and died instantaneously in RoF. Though, this filler was clearly meant to be a gag not to be taken seriously). And in the Super Manga, well, there’s the Gas fight (if you don’t make up a reason for them surviving like I have). Then of course both continuities have the events of the OG series, so you have tye Monster Carrot moment. Ironically, Goku dying in space would be the outlier based conclusion. At least regarding feats. (3 moments each where Saiyams do in both continuities, 1 moment where they die {RoF}, and 3 statements that they can’t {Frieza, King Kai, and Vegeta}.

He agreed with the physical barrier thingy
Lol, there isn't even a physical barrier, this is something created by Omega, in fact they are dimensional barriers separating the Universe from the afterlife, that thing about the afterlife being in the Universe was hilarious, and the kaioshin kingdom too, and we have mention of Akira Toriyama saying that he is out of Universe 7 🤣

Afterlife separated by a subspace, between the living kingdom and another world separating them, all dimensions have dimensional barriers separating them from other dimensions, which in the very topic of @Ultima_Reality he said that they are fabrics of space-time, but no, let's face it, these dimensions are physical barriers, but the only means of accessing any dimension is through dimensional travel or teleportation.
