Dragon Ball Super Discussion Thread 100

Hmm, should Cell max also have OG Cell’s Class G telekinesis since he is an improved variation of the latter? The only thing that wasn’t finished was his mind so it is basically an out of character move

in the movie im highly certain that it was stated that Hedo took the blueprints for cell and just highly enhance the shit

Cell Max was designed using the blueprints for the original Cell as a blueprint; however, Cell Max is never stated or implied to possess the same biological material as the original. Cell received its regenerative abilities, which Cell Max lacks, from Piccolo, and Cell received its telekinetic abilities from Frieza. Cell Max also appears to be more mechanical than the original Cell, who was entirely synthetic.

someone summarise the scaling for Gohan?
Base Gohan and Piccolo <<< SSJ Gohan = Ultimate Piccolo < Moro Arc Blue Evolved Vegeta = Gamma 1 & 2 < Rage Amped Ultimate Gohan < Current Goku and Vegeta = Orange Piccolo < < Gamma 2's suicide attack < Cell Max = Broly < Gohan Beast

Statements:
1) Gamma 1 and 2 are potentially on Goku Vegeta level. Probably refered to the Moro Arc since Moro Arc Battle data input was used to create them and that was also Piccolo's last update

2) Piccolo was said to be on par with Goku and Vegeta. Probably refering to their current form.

3) Cell Max is a Broly-level threat and Gohan is stronger than that

Conclusion: Gamma 1 and 2 and Gohan : 3A, likely Low 2C ;
Piccolo , Cell Max and Gohan Beast low 2c

Thank you very much

Oof forgot about that….so with that then where should they now be scaling?

Why would Cell Max be lower than Gamma 2's kamikaze strike when Gamma 2 needed to exert himself even further to break past Max's guard? At best, the two would be comparable, but Cell Max was able to hold back Gamma 2 for an exerted period of time before giving in.

Scaling Gohan above goku and vegeta is again a bruhh scaling, I feel writers intentionally put such "probably" statements for powerscalers
For ex : Jiren > zamasu
Broly > beerus

Because he pierced through Cell Max's guard? Even if Cell Max held him off for a small while, his arm that was purposely blocking against the attack was still destroyed, so Gamma 2 exerted a force that not even Cell Max's body (that he was purposely on guard with) was able to stand up to over after a small period of time. Even if it's ever so slightly, Gamma 2's suicide attack > Cell Max's dura at worst, which would still be comparable to his ap.

Gamma 2 would have killed cell if cell didn't sacrifice his arm lol
If the attack landed on his head cell would've been finished tbh

Concerning the Buuhan thing .. it did happen in Dragonball Kai and both Kai and Super (Anime) were intended to follow the Manga closer and thus can be argued to be canon to each other. Not only that but they both use the same soundtracks and Super uses flashbacks from Kai rather than Z.

Secondly Toriyama said that the DBS( Manga) is the canon sequel to his manga . At no point does he mention the Anime.

My headcanon was always :

Manga ( Original) -> Manga ( Super)

Dragonball Anime -->Kai --> Super

Dragonball Anime -> Z Anime --> GT
right its actually a huge flaw of this wiki Kai is almost blatantly beat for beat the predecessor of Super.

If the manga characters lack any good establishing shots to use as renders, can renders from games be used instead?

Y'mean his weak point?
Because he pierced through Cell Max's guard?
Breaking X's guard does not place Y above X. Moreover, Gamma 2 only broke through Max's guard after an extended struggle, with Max's arm only folding because of the pressure exerted over a lengthy period of time. If Gamma 2 had simply bulldozed through Max in an instant, an argument could be made, but as it stands, Gamma 2's kamikaze attack would only be comparable.

Ummm yes it does since the force of the attack, even if it took a while, overwhelmed the defenders strength and pierced through. Gamma 2 destroying his on guard arm would still make his suicide attack > Cell Max's dura which is comparable to his ap.

If Gamma 2 simply bulldozed through Cell Max instantly, he would be far stronger instead of slightly stronger. You can be stronger than someone without stomping them.

I am assuming you are referencing this:

Q. The Dragon Ball Super anime connects the story with the last chapter of the manga, but what about this movie?
Is it a continuation from the end of the manga?
I love Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball manga, so I'd be really happy if the story is connected.

Mr. Iyoku: Dragon Ball Super is a story take place in the climax time era of the Dragon Ball manga, which covers the period 10 years after fight of Goku and Majin Buu. This story is written by Toriyama-sensei, naturally it is connected to Dragon Ball.

Which is such a big NO DUH statement I would assume the Cell Saga in the anime takes place during the middle of the Dragon Ball Manga

Why would you assume that when the Cell Saga explicitly takes place during the middle of the Dragon Ball Z anime?

Iyoku was responding to a question that asked if the Super anime was connected to the original manga, and he responded by stating that the Super anime took place after the battle between Goku and Buu in the original manga. Ergo, the Super anime is derivative of the original manga.

For sure the Super anime shows an entire flashback to Goku defeating Buu to market the Manga and not to encourage people to W A T C H THE A N I M E.
Even the redone Flashbacks don't take queues from the manga as they are just redrawings of the Anime events. Trunks going SSJ for the first time for example.
