It will just be resistance, so like, what will add layers to some skills.

In fact, this is basically the case since Deagon's crt, this crt is only removing type 4 because there is no longer any reason for it to exist, since you would have to list the resistances anyway.

I thought the idea was that if you gained a resistance based on type 4, your opponent would have to have feats of affecting a type 4 with that specific resistance to use the ability on you.

because after that Bob revision, Aca 4 require the verse so specific what resistance it grant, which most verse isn't that hyperspecific, thus now Aca 4 turn into a decorative ability that grant nothing unless the verse is hyperspecific about its abilities, so just delete it since it serve no purpose, sure, some verses did specific about it, but exceptions don't make a rule
