Why? He knows that he cannot get past the barrier and will regen from the damage anyway and go back to knives even if he does. He didn't rush Joseph so why would he against Geralt?

Dio doesn't know he can't get past the shield. Hamon =/= Quen. It's a forcefield, not sunlight aura that he knows about.

Are you sure, he throws a whole lot of them against Jotaro.

He would still know that quen hurts him and should stay away after the first timestop (regen makes the damage reflection moot.)

What's your point. He won't do anything to Geralt as long as he is under Quen, and time stop will only make Quen more effective.

Tens of meters. It doesn't last, you just influence someone's mind and they will do the thing you want them to do.

If it doesn't last then it doesn't matter. Dio will come right back immediately. Is Geralts mind manip resistances limited to magic? Dio also has flesh buds, which he used on people often before the final fight.

I believe flesh buds are in fight out of character, and even if, still can't get past Quen.

It does matter. Basically it makes his opponent commit actions, so it may as well last as long as he wants to. He can also put DIO to sleep with Somne sign and wait until morning...

He used them against Kakyoin and Polnareff in the first encounter. He just did not do it against the JoJo team at the end because he really wanted to kill off the family.

Flesh buds probably could get past body quen, not the dome though.

Yeah but he also pretty much on a power trip. He definitely tried to kill Jotaro.

Also against normal people unrelated to the JoJo's (early kak and polnareff.) he often just flesh budded, so that also works.

If he doesn't kill Geralt in his first stop, Geralt can and will use Quen, which allows him to mindhax and sleep Dio safely
