Emuparadise's Emulator lets me go all the wa through last I checked. Well, when paired off with Drastic NDS Emulator.

There's a reason Infernape and Sceptile are my favorite Pokémon... Because they were my first. I feel Rosemon/Lilymon might be that...given how human psychology works.

Yes, just don't expect Cyber Sleuth levels of plot. It is very simple. But while the story is very simple, it is praised for it's pretty good and fun gameplay. Same for DS.

It's very rough. The story makes no sense, there's no real character development, the antagonist is about as flat as they come and the gameplay is slightly simplified from DS. It does, however, have a fantastic variety of Digimon (over 400!) and pretty addictive gameplay. It has a lot in common with Cyber Sleuth and PSP, both of which are like improved versions of Dawn/Dusk in terms of gameplay.

Also Merukimon was a translation cover-up. See in the dub, Mercuremon was called Mercurymon, as such they couldn't name Mercurimon...well Mercurimon.

That's why I don't like the dub names. There are no intelligent or logical reasons for changing them.

Actually at times, it's a regional thing. For those of us in the west, seeing mercury spelled like mercure would have been odd, and at that time the localization team didn't know Mercurimon even existed.

Plus, imho, some dub names are far better than the original japanese names. Regardless of whether the make more sense or less sense. A lot of changes were spelling changes, otherwise we'd have Fantomon over Phantomon. I will forever prefer Gallantmon over Dukemon, Crusadermon over LordKnightmon, Piedmon to Piemon (He's a clown, not a dessert). etc.

But the clown is a Pierrot, not a pied piper. A more correct translation would have been Piermon. Putting the "d" makes the dub name nonsensical.

Duke makes more sense than "gallant", becuase Dukemon is a Royal Knight, and duke is a nobility title. A gallant is just some random hero (or even a womanizer). Same with Lord Knightmon. He is the Lord of the Knightmon (again, a nobility title), not some regular crusader.

Once again, just because it makes sense, does not mean it is a better sounding name. Regardless of how much sense it makes, LordKnightmon sounds like utter trash imo and does not sound as cool as Crusadermon. I could careless if the name made sense in context. I care for how cool the name sounds. Simple as that. Dukemon is not a bad name per se, it's just that Gallantmon sounds cooler overall. It doesn't have to make sense to be a good name.

You are focused on the Digimon name representing every single detail about them, when in fact that objectively does not always make a good name. Especially when every character's name ends in "mon"

I agree that LordKnightmon and Piemon are silly names and I prefer their Dub counterparts, but I do think Dukemon is a cooler sounding name, more fitting too.

Some dub names are made so they role off the tongue better. "Beelzebumon" just doesn't roll off the tongue as much as "Beelzemon", for example. In the end, it's all preference and personal taste, though.
