Some interesting things regarding a few DMC3 Japanese vs English differences.

Also, apparently the Astronomical Board isn't a "key" item in that it is an actual key in the literal sense and mission 4's japanese subtitle translates to "obtain the "key" that displays (or depicts) the stars.", yes the quotations marks are in original japanese. The Astronomical Board is called "Astrological board of eternal darkness" or "Astronomy tablet of everlasting darkness" in japanese and the translation of the japanese description is "A board used for astronomy which depicts a world of eternal darkness where not even the stars shine. It is often used paired with clocks."

This stuff is pretty interesting and brings up some questions. If we take the "world of eternal darkness" to mean the demon world the translations could either mean the demon world has no stars or the demon world does have stars but they literally do not shine. But if we take it to mean the original DMC universe back to when the human world and demon world were one universe, then it calls into question the board's origin when everything was one universe. Was it created after or before the split? If before, who created it? If after, who or what gave them the knowledge? Now this stuff may never get answered and the astronomical board along with everything with it is likely kill lore wise, it's still interesting to think about.

Nero is the hero not Dante
?

Tbh he's the supposed Hero of DMC 4 and 5. One could argue Lucia was the real protaginst of 2 making Dante's main character role "narrtive wise" only exist within 1 and 3.

I mean, it is a fact that you the game forcses you to play as Nero the most and he get the most screen time out of all the main 3 characters. Dante's role is still equally important though in 5 though.

Back when SDT was first revealed, I had a head canon that SDT is basically Majin form going DT cuz of it design back then lol

Yeap, I agree

Nero had more missions but some of them was you know, cleaning Red Grave, for example, which is important but for the story, not that much

Itsuno on a interview said that the true game starts on mission 11-12, so Dante's role is actually just as important as Nero, even with less screentime, which actually surprises me, however we can way that Nero is the hero of the game, while being just as important as Dante and V

In 4 Nero is the hero, by far

In 2 is similar to Anime, the story doesn't focus on Dante's backstory, but in his actions and battles as a Legendary Devil Hunter, while the emotional side is Lucia's/Patty's

Lucia has actually pretty big role both emotionally and action wise, the game was just so bad the players didn't even attempt to tries disc 2 of the story, which is a shame cuz Lucia gameplay and narrtive was much better than Dante's.

I just want a Sparda game already tbh.

I don't think Vergil should have over confidence as a weakness, every instance outside of his fights with Dante he's shown ruthless and easily able to kill his enemies with little to no actual talking or an over confident attitude as shown with Arkham (when he "killed" him), Beowulf, Hell Prides that attacked him during the cutscenes in 3, the "Hell Pride" boss (forgot it's name) that tried to attack him , the manga when he just chopped thugs to bits who slightly inconvienced him, the dmc4 intro and to top it off Before the Nightmare states pre-DMC3 Vergil was ruthless and his enemies never had a chances to defend themselves before he would kill them. Vergil's over confidence only comes out once Dante is near or in the picture.

Brings up a good question as to how many really should overconfidence as a weakness or not...and not just referring to Verg here.

Aside that, I agree. Verg is pretty focused and chill as far as I see of his actions on some like Beowulf and his intros in 3 and 4. Dante coming in is definitely when he gets all up in the air but otherwise keeps himself composed enough to fight Dante throughout 3 and their rematches in 5 (M19 and post game, I mean).

It depends tho, overconfidence can be a weakness if it makes the character low his guard or don't finish his enemies when he have the a clear chance

Both cases are not related to any version of Vergil, however

Wait, really? Where's this coming from?

It's steam page was updated yesterday by Capcom which added Multiplayer, PvP and Co-op tags and RE2 recieved an update that added a new achievement. X019 is today so something might be announced there.

Man, I wonder how PVP will work if it gets into DMC

I mean, we "only" have 3 characters, and I doubt that they are around equal even inside gameplay

If it had playable Lady, Vergil and Trish, that would work.

Having just Dante Nero and V is...pretty limited atm even with all skill unlocks

They could also make a callback to previous characters. There were some characters that I've wanted to play other than the obvious Nero, Dante, Vergil, Trish, Lady, V... they don't even have to have so much combos or weapons like Dante or Nero.

A character like Credo has great potential with his superb swordsmanship, shield, teleportation, energy blasts, flight, and summon swords and spears.

Lucia could be revamped and improved primarily as a CQC specialist, precision, agility fighter.

Of course if Lady is going to be playable, just give her Artimus (the devil arm) as she's a proficient gunslinger. Let her play very differently to Dante's gunslinger style.

It would be a crime at this point if Trish doesn't get Alastor (and while at it, develop a kind of Alastor-based DT for Trish for real).

Sparda could also be added (though I think this legendary devil ought to have his own DLC, series, possibly game).

A massive DMC5 DLC expansion could certaily work.

Agree with everything, although Sparda needing his own game is needed since you can play longer with him than going through DLC.

There was actually a reddit post I saw that had an idea of a "DMC 0" game that had Sparda as the main char for it and it was a pretty good idea to have rather than a DLC that either gives us fragmented episodes of his life or some such, and there's no telling how many episodes they'd give of that if it ever comes to it.

Other than that, more chars are needed if they're gonna do PvP multiplayer.

please, I've spent whole 7 minute battles entirely in mid air non stop juggling enemies. y'all are getting smacked
