Looking at other similar circumstance, apparently Disney owned Epic Rap Battles of History at one point. Disney. And they managed to get rights back and go indie.
Seriously, whats the point of Zaslav keeping DB? It will either collect dust orrr you get some money because Ben & co do have interest to buy it. And its not like its a merch seller, like ERB, DB is based on parody-element, so it doesnt make that much merch value. They could sell it for decently cheap price.
Ofc even this good scenario basically means that DB would be delayed to 2025+ due to lack of budget delaying everything.
