Wolf VS William Adams (Sekiro VS Nioh)- Liam says it “totally makes it” and calls it perfect. John also loves it, and notes that its very close (“one has speed, one has power, they both have hax for days, and they both can actually kill each other”). Some general discussion of Nioh as a game occurs, after which Sam also says it’s a great fight.

Gabimaru VS Roland (Hell’s Paradise VS Library of Ruina)- Liam doesn’t know anything about Hell’s Paradise, whereas John “dabbled in it”. Sam gets it based on the connections. Liam calls it “swell”, and John says it’s unique, and notes that the characters are “on the lesser known side of things”.

Goku VS Aang (Dragonball Evolution VS The Last Airbender)- Liam jokes that the entire fight should just be Aang attempting to Earthbend. They discuss/joke about Dragonball Evolution for a while. Sam ultimately says it’s a funny idea, and John says he’s come up with a similar idea for Evolution Goku VS DCEU Superman.

Commando Elite VS Chucky (Small Soldiers VS Child’s Play)- Liam and John both like it. Sam remembers liking Small Soldiers as a kid. Liam suggests a “Creepy Brad Dourif Characters Battle Royale”.

Garou VS Godspeed (One-Punch Man VS DC)- Liam says it’s thematically strong, but he and John both think Godspeed stomps because he’s a DC speedster. John says that Cosmic Fear mode gives Garou more of a chance (Liam says he’s galaxy-level in that form), but still doesn’t think he could keep up with Godspeed’s speed. Liam and John admit they don’t know exactly how powerful Godspeed is. Sam says he thinks Godspeed is a “physical embodiment of the Speed Force”.

Cooler VS Blackfire (Dragon Ball VS DC)- John calls it “new”, and he and Liam both like it. Liam loves Cooler, particularly his second form, which leads into a discussion about Dragon Ball character designs.

Nicktoons Villains Battle Royale (Plankton VS Mr. Crocker VS Professor Calamitous VS Vlad Plasmius VS Queen Vexus)- Sam says “Now we’re onto something”. John questions if Crocker would get the fairies, and says that he wins if he does, but loses immediately if he doesn’t. John thinks Vlad would be hard to kill, and might be the winner. Erin finds it funny how much smaller Plankton is compared to the rest, which would make it difficult for the others to target him.

Sonic.exe VS Chara (Creepypasta VS Undertale)- John thinks Sonic.exe is too vague and complicated to analyze if you only focus on the original game, but notes that Friday Night Funkin’ gives him more lore. Sam calls Sonic.exe “the pinnacle of 2010s sadboy Sonic meta OCs”. John bets that Chara wins, saying they could be universal to multi-universal based on how the game world is made up of the different save files.

Luz VS Akko (The Owl House VS Little Witch Academia)- John says he likes this MU, but Liam says doing it over Luz VS Anne wouldn’t go over well. Erin hasn’t seen LWA, but says she needs to (“in May, I’m gonna find myself a lot of free time, probably”).

Shrek VS Manny (Shrek VS Ice Age)- They talk about the two franchises a lot, but not really about the actual MU.

Johnny Gat VS Trevor Philips (Saints Row VS Grand Theft Auto)- They think it’s a massive stomp in Johnny’s favor, since Saints Row gets way crazier than GTA.

Shuri VS Sally Acorn (Marvel VS Sonic the Hedgehog)- Liam calls it interesting, and says he’s never thought about it before. When Liam asks how powerful Sally is, John answers that she should be at least universal through Archie scaling and would most likely stomp Shuri.

Ahsoka Tano VS Boruto Uzumaki (Star Wars VS Naruto)- John says it’s interesting, and that Naruto scaling has been getting more powerful lately. When Liam notes that the main connection is them both being successors, John argues that this connection is somewhat weak because Ahsoka is the student of a good guy who turned evil, and Boruto is the son of a good guy who stayed good. Liam jokes that the connections are actually “successors to bad fathers”, but John also disputes the notion that Naruto is a bad father.

Yoshi VS Chocobo (Super Mario VS Final Fantasy)- They all really like it, and aren’t sure who wins (though they are leaning towards Yoshi). Sam asks if it would just be a regular Chocobo, or a composite of all of them, and John says it would have to be a composite. Sam mentions how, in Final Fantasy Tactics, Red Chocobos can summon meteors.

Roxas VS Axl (Kingdom Hearts VS Mega Man X)- Sam calls Mega Man X7 the worst MMX game, and jokes that the two characters are “protagonists who showed up when nobody asked for another protagonist”. He then says he likes the MU regardless and gets the connections. John loves Roxas, saying he’s one of his favorite characters, despite agreeing he was unnecessary.

Slade VS Ch’rell (Teen Titans VS Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)- Liam absolutely loves it. There’s some debate on whether Slade would get the magic powers Trigon gave him (they settle on him not getting them). Liam isn’t sure who wins, but leans towards Slade, since he can fight off all of the Titans on his own.
(Sailor Moon VS Pegasus Seiya, Ash Williams VS Frank West, Luz VS Anne, SCP-682 VS Doomsday, and Remilia Scarlet VS Rachel Alucard all got skipped past because they’ve been talked about a lot).

First matchup for the next Ballot Banter is Neptune VS Laharl (Hyperdimension Neptunia VS Disgaea).

Hohoho, wait until they look into Chocobo Dungeon.

Pretty sure it's a close debate, too.
if you wank them both to high heavens, sure

But I'm curious to see how that'll go, neither series are exactly the most highly regarded pieces of fiction within powerscaling. Especially HDN. In fact, this place is probably one of the only places that actually acknowledges how powerful they are without overdoing it.

The only thing I know about Disgaea is that they apparently beat Yogiri Takatou and the strongest characters I know with ease. And devil penguins.

Disgaea characters have a lot of passive stat reductions and haxxes
Most of the deadly haxxes (from what I see on Laharl's profile, anyways) are resisted already, and the stat reductions. . .I mean, Neptune has an Idea Chip that prevents her stats from being lowered, so that's lolnoped as well

However Laharl also seems to resist a lot of what Neptune does without Share Energy besides Concept and Spatial Manip, although the status effects are an interesting topic considering would Laharl resist Poison and Paralysis that work on entities with no biology such as ghosts, data beasts, 2D creatures, robots, and other inorganic creatures?

Laharl's hax work on in-universe enemies that are ghosts, robots iirc, and allowing scaling to other protags using the same abilities, even fictional beings inside of a TV show.

Laharl also has layered status ailments, probability manipulation, precognition that allows him to counterattack a move before it begins, and infinite speed or immeasurable depending on how you interpret Overlord Baal stuff.

Overall, he just holds a lot of advantages, with the only major issue being Nep's high-ends which are still overcome via things like death hax.

Laharl also has layered status ailments
Do you mean layered in the sense that it affects enemies that resist status effects or something? Hard to really tell because Disgaea profiles are absolute ass at the moment, and I don't actually PLAY Disgaea games, so you'd have to explain that to me
probability manipulation, precognition
Precog will help him avoid attacks, yeah

Wouldn't really help him actually spot Neptune though, because she's practically invisible to him until she lands an attack
with the only major issue being Nep's high-ends which are still overcome via things like death hax
as far as i remember, instant death in jrpgs is usually attributed to a status effect, and the profile itself even classifies it as a status effect, so the death hax isn't really even death hax
