DC Profile Clean-up and Revisions Part 2

Well, as I have mentioned elsewhere, I personally think that The Presence profile should have two statiatics keys (similarly to The One Above All), one Tier 1-A for Vertigo, and one Tier 0 for DC Comics.

I also think that we should remove The Writer.

However, I keep getting outvoted.

Im not trying to upgrade her to 1A but itleast she is confirmed to exist beyond 6D . Scott snyder doesn't seem to follow any higher dimensional stuff compare to demattis and other writers .
 
Oh my god, it looks like Snyder isn't gonna be making any complex Higher Dimensionals to his administration of DC's Multiverse. All he ever did was make new High-2A Multiverses.

My biggest fear is if he ever makes a Rebirth character say "Oh, there are only 10 known dimensions" or something that retcons over previous High-1B cosmology for DC.

Quick, somebody hashtag Snyder to make High-1B/Infinite-D a thing in DC again. Our profiles might have to be downgraded if we don't!!!!

Downgrade applies to current dc . Also in swamp thing thread by Hykuu. It explained infinite d stuff etc. Vertigo will stay 1A
 
Ant, I totally agree that we both agree is true, but we just need more... Direct evidence. we only have Connective and indirect evidence because too many users are Pro-Morrison folks on this Wikia.

We'll wait and see with what Snyder plans to do with Spectre and Perpetua first since Spectre is going to be involved in the new Multiversal Crisis which Snyder implies, he will patch up the relationship between different cosmic beings in his interview.

That said, I was not being sarcastic. Snyder is on the verge of adding or changing up some things.
 
Uh, these revisions are not about the DCEU dude, only the mainline DC Comics and all the property published by them.

Well, I personally think that The Writer is based on headcanon, and that there is evidence in J.M. DeMatteis' stories that the DC Comics version of The Presence is intended to be tier 0, at least going by scans that I remember being shown in various threads here in this wiki.

Monitor-Mind The Overvoid could also remain tier 0 of course. There are conflicting takes on DC cosmology.
 
I am inclined to agree with Ant. I believe the Writer was misinterpreted as of what it was supposed to be. It was meta-commentary, from what I can tell. And the Presence and Monitor-Mind (which btw I think needs a different name for the profile) are the actual Tier 0s. It's hard to say since DC keeps soft-rebooting itself but I'm still leaning towards agreeing with Ant on this one.
 
Unlike most of the other Tier 0s, doesn't the Presence have multiple anti-feats that would remove him from the Tier 0 rating?
 
I think Ant said something about giving him two keys. A tier 0 key for DC and a 1-A key for Vertigo, similar to TOAA's two keys.
 
I don't think he should have two keys unless (like TOAA) there's canon evidence of the Vertigo incarnation of being some weaker aspect of a greater being.
 
There are two different conflicting takes on The Presence. In Vertigo the atheist Lucifer writer Mike Carey, followed by Holly Black, established a more limited pattern that is entirely contrary to the one established by the spiritual J.M. DeMatteis, as all 1-A beings simply being the thoughts of the character.
 
I'm fine with something like "Classic | Modern" like with Beyonder, but I don't think the profile should treat them as an aspect of a greater being.

Yeah, as much as I hate to bring that stuff up, Mikey Carey and co's take on the Presence is conceptually inferior and contradictory to the more accurate DC portrayal, and that Tier 0s shouldn't be punished for lack of consistency between writers of two different versions of the same character. Otherwise we'd downgrade Azathoth due to the terrible interpretations of the entity from the Extended Myhtos.

Would you be willing to talk with Matthew Schroeder and Ultima Reality about The Writer and The Presence? I think that they blocked my previous attempts to get rid of the former and revise the latter.
 
I agree with the sufficient evidence, but clearly there is something up if Matt doesn't even agree yet. He and others have stipulations up in the air.

I am of the opinion that the Matteis Presence is far superior to the Overvoid by comparison.

But we should point out that Starlin for one, identified the Presence with the Void. And there was a Wonderwoman story where the Presence and the Source were sort of identified with each other. What happens to those profiles? Including the Source?
 
The Monitor, Anti-Monitor and the World Forger are able to exist in the sixth dimension.

Well, their feats have not been explicitly infinite-dimensional. This is the first time that they have been gauged in this manner.

So lol who cares about the statements of 28 Spatial Dimensions.

Who cares about the numerous references to 11th Dimensions and beyong of Superstring Theory.

Who cares about the 186,000+ Dimensioanal Space.

Who cares about the numerous scans that talk about infinite spatial dimensions outright.

Apparently none of that matters because of one reference in a modern comic about a "Sixth World".
