Damage Scaling on Sonic's profile

Forever since Sonic bois don't wanna remove damage scaling from his profile.
This is spreading bad faith, we have literally no power to advance this any further than you or JJ and are waiting all the same. Several of us have agreed with some of this already, and I personally have blogs affected by this thread.

It's not our fault this thread is in limbo.

I called out some of the Sonic supporters that are on the back page. Nobody showed up.

Someone try to send it to others too.

The ones involving damage dealt to Egg Hawk, the Focused Homing Attack, and the ones involving requiring less hits to beat bosses in Sonic Advance 2 (there’s a Sonic 4 version of the latter but that hasn’t been applied). There’s also a 4x increase in strength from Frontiers which has not been decided on if it’s legit or not.

Pretty sure that has already been settled as good to go, as it involves an NPC with dialogue on a base mechanic of the game which also has a narrative to it (gathering the lost, wandering Koco of the Starfall Islands).

Bump.

I think it would be good for someone to do a summary of the multipliers with a short summary of why it would stay or be removed.

Since enough time has passed that almost dead crt.

Power Cores: Stated to be a boost that doubles the user’s strength in IDW, a non-gameplay element (Can stay)

Focused Homing Attack: Entire basis is pixel scaling the damage it deals compared to a normal homing attack on a boss’s health bar (Goes away)

Egg Hawk accelerated development: Same general idea, arguing a smaller health bar for the same boss later in the game equates to being X times stronger (Goes away)

Frontiers level 99 damage boost: While determined by finding the damage numbers for the same attack at level 99 and level 1, Sonic growing stronger is integrated into the story so it can likely stay.

Bosses taking half as many hits to kill at endgame in Advance 2 and Sonic 4: Only non-gameplay basis is a strategy guide equivalent, leaning towards removing it.

Phantom Rush: Blatantly stated as a 1.2x attack boost, self-explanatory.

This seems about right. A lot of these attacks are in fact examples of Damage Boosting and Statistics Amplifiction, but most of the profile’s multipliers aren’t concrete AFAIK

Is there a list I can go over?

Well, there is this one. With some arguments for some to stay. But it looks like the OP is no longer participating in the discussion.

And it seems that nobody is keeping track of the staff votes in each multiplier.

Power Cores can stay

Focused Homing Attack can go away

Egg Hawk can go away

Frontiers is based off Sonic growing in power, so that’s fine

The Advance 2/Sonic 4 thing is gameplay mechanics 100%

Phantom Rush can stay

Could you tag the staff members who gave their opinion on this topic (I think there was only one)?

To know specifically their opinion about each multiplier and it will be easier to count the votes.

Well, the advance 2 one has support from the guide of the game

Sonic advance 2 could still remain as it is supported by the guide of the game https://info.sonicretro.org/index.php?title=File:SonicAdvance2_Prima_digital_guide.pdf&page=107

As somebody who has used Official Strategy Guides for pages, this is absolutely just in reference to mechanics and not something that can't be attributed to applicable stats
I made a minor typo where I said it can be attributed. I edited to be can't. Just wanna clear up the confusion

If so, could you tag Maverick_Zero_X? He participated in this crt and gave his opinion. But I want to confirm what his opinion is on each Multiplier under discussion. I thank.
