@DMUA was given something called a "Zodiac Volcano Katana". it isn't like... insanely good, our titanium swords beat it, but I think it's a really funny name. I can't tell if it is satire or not.
Does it even have special properties or did it just randomly get named that

If the latter I'm almost certain Vlad came up with it himself

it says it "oozes volcano energy", which is either saying it has a volcano vibe or it allegedly actually emits energy. It has no statistical, mechanical effect listed, so I choose the funnier interpretation (it's just named that).

  • I am spawning in @Rakih_Elyan; he has given me Paradoxes and Conundrums. His character had two childhood backstories (I chose Story Writer over Reincarnated Soul, as the latter cannot commit violence, and my god do we like violence around here...) as well as being good at Social, with the Fringe Shitposter adulthood story, which cannot do any social-related work. He is a martial artist who is dogshit at violence (he can do it, as a Story Writer, but Fringe Shitposter makes him really bad at it); he is vengeful, so because we have ugly pawns, he will consider them rivals and will want them dead (and until they die, he will have a PERMANENT -20 mood debuff); in short, you have surpassed @FinePoint in making a pawn that in any other context I would use as surgery practice. Welcome to the family.
  • Upon spawning in, @Rakih_Elyan flirted with a robot (not one of ours). I just think this is funny for the first thing he does.
Lmao, this is ****** up.

It's a little interesting that his mental breaks are also reset when his RAM clears cache, giving him the huge mood buff from the catharsis of having had the mental break without him actually going through it. Particularly useful when he was trying to kill (as in, literally murder) @Epiccheev, but I just had Gray run around awhile until his RAM filled and then he forgot all about it
Reminds me of grandpa

High Concrete Packer @Topaz404 has a resoundingly, offensively annoying habit of depositing 74 units of concrete into the workplace to be packed and grabbing the rest afterwards. The rest being, one unit. It takes 75 units to pack concrete. Can't push himself to grab that one last thing, I guess. This basically doubles how long it takes him to do his work.
Why is it that nothing interesting happens with him? Just him fumbling his work

Bro, capo dei capi, get it together

Humorously, @FinePoint gets upset because he uses a hard drug due to being a drug addict. Our Cartel is ideologically opposed to "sampling the goods". It's for our customers. So he has a huge mood malus for being on the drugs we produce.
The struggle when you really want to do meth but the grind never stops.

In a situation of humorous timing, @Arceus0x and @Armorchompy were playing poker together. I suppose Armor must have lost because he immediately entered a mental state and started punching Povar in the head. @FinePoint was present in the rec room but didn't do shit but run because I forgot to set him off of fleeing in the face of combat. Povar won the fight, I reckon, but both came out bruised. Sore loser, Armor.

  • @Epiccheev is now our Butterfly Slayer (perhaps the brother to Dragonfly Slayer?) after killing a group of Drainers near our batteries. For the unenlightened, Drainers are bigass butterflies (like, almost human sized) that suck up power. We've been having power issues lately and judging by their logs' length, I'm guessing these guys are to blame. Situation dealt with, although he did get a bite on his toe.
This game has like the opposite of a foot fetish. It ******* hates feet. The most common injury by far is annihilated toes or whatever.

This game has like the opposite of a foot fetish. It ******* hates feet. The most common injury by far is annihilated toes or whatever.
Body parts with low health. Fingers and toes are frequently annihilated by wounds that would only moderately damage the limb or the torso. I don't mention it when you guys have like 8 gunshot wounds in the neck, that's just standard fare for the Cartel.

  • @Topaz404 is now a psychic, I put him in the Warlord tree for now (but will probably go Technomancer later for a second tree, would make him a good crafter).
  • @Arceus0x filled our kitchen with boulders by butchering two Bouldermits in there. It is now laughably hard to move through the kitchen. I have removed Bouldermits from the butchering list.
  • @FinePoint had a mental break due to using a hard drug (psychite). His mental break sought to resolve this by using yet more hard drugs (psychite) in a binge.
  • A meteor struck and demolished one single tile of wall in @Shadowslash125' bedroom, directly above his headboard. Randy sends his regards, I believe.
  • @Shadowslash125 had some sort of neuron spasm that caused him to gather the ingredients for a fine meal (elephant steaks and sunflower seeds?), begin to cook them, cancel the job, remove the ingredients by placing them on the boulder-strewn floor, and then restart the job by gathering the exact same ingredients.
  • Azure404's pawn, Ceru, has very few production-related skills, leading to a situation where him, @DMUA and Llama are in the quarry, and Hampter and Llama are just going at the speed of light through the stones while Ceru cautiously strikes his pick once every ten seconds. Mogged, I'm afraid.
  • Because they're both new and missed out on our wave of bionic installations, both Ceru and @Rakih_Elyan are getting our AI assistant microcomputers. This will help them catch up and learn faster. Solely because it's funny, Rakhiel tried to flirt with @FinePoint by talking about Society and with @PsychoWarper by describing him as "a fine house" (the game's words, not mine). After the AI went in, he complimented @Epiccheev's leg hair. I don't know if the AI had anything to do with it or not. More or less rizz, hard to say.
  • I forgot that @FinePoint also missed the Bionic Wave so our last AI assistant goes to him. @Rakih_Elyan got construction and cooking (neither skill he's good at but he's good at very little, didn't have an art module), Ceru got melee, social, and mining, and Point got a production module.
  • We had our first Dire Raid, which for the uninformed is a raid that is allotted significantly more power by the game. It was unfortunately a mech raid, perhaps operating on ancient orders to suppress illicit substance trades... anyways, we won, largely due to our Zeus kanabo that Llama wielded. Our melee line suffered immense injuries, and I'm not really certain how @Crabwhale survived as long as she did (she didn't die but she did go down). No casualties, some infrastructure damage (a couple of them destroyed one of our geothermal vent facilities before I could stop them). All in all, fairly successful, I should say.
  • Despite being an Android, @Armorchompy binged smokeleaf (read: sci-fi weed) to help with his perceived pain. Why did we give the androids pain receptors? What sort of cruel gods are we?
  • Our other perpetually depressed android (not quite so snappy as "paranoid android", is it) @Lawiegg had a similar mental breakdown, only he decided he wanted to slaughter our pet Thunderbeast. I didn't manage to stop him, so... we no longer have a pet Thunderbeast.
  • @Shadowslash125 and @Topaz404 were bleeding out and playing pool together until I forced @Epiccheev and @Arceus0x to drag them to the hospital. Povar healed about half of y'all before I allowed him to get tended himself, even though the Don shot him in the ******* lungs with a railgun.
  • Through the bloodshed, @Phoenks peacefully studied advanced circuitry and engineering.
  • Most wounds accrued so far is surprisingly @PsychoWarper's title to claim, his armor is baller compared to the rest of you (he's wearing that Deserter gear) so even though he's not immediately front-lining, he seems to take the most to put down.
  • I'm not going to write out all the statistics, but a quick update: @Lawiegg has the most kills so far at 45 (next highest is 43 via Eldritch), but the most damage is @Topaz404 by a HUGE margin (33k, next highest is almost 11k via @Arceus0x); in the past, it's been clear that higher damage but lower kills tends to just mean you have a bad weapon, and thus get a lot of assists. This isn't the case here; Topaz' weapon is in fact one of the best, and the reason he has so much damage is because it intrinsically pierces enemies. It penetrates armor easily and can strike multiple foes in a line. And because of that, he hits us. A lot. The Don is a killer.
  • As a final note, we have one more psylink neuroformer, I acknowledge that @Phoenks is also psychically hypersensitive, but our third psychically hypersensitive colonist, @Rakih_Elyan, is so ******* bad at his current job that I wouldn't mind him meditating a few hours a day, whereas all of our technological progress currently is organized to hinge on Macro's enormous brain. So I'm torn but will probably give it to the strategically smarter choice, Rakhiel.

I never thought that my pawn would be this useless dawg.

Randy Lobotomy moment; still loves to invade the one sanctuary that is the bed. Bravo Randy.

@Shadowslash125 and @Topaz404 were bleeding out and playing pool together
Being raided didn't stop the pool game, though I figure the other pool brings concerns.

Hey Now that I have more kills can I have a better weapon?

This is a certified railgun moment

I am the ******* WALL!

  • @FinePoint is a huge nerd *****. We got two raids shortly after one another, and in the second raid, Point went down. I was carrying the wounded to their beds when I noticed... Point was only hit a couple of times, and was bleeding a whole 3.1% per day. And he went down from it! Directly next to him, @Rakih_Elyan was down at 273% per day (that is, the rate of his bleeding would empty him of blood in about ~8 hours). He does have the Wimp trait but I didn't think it was so extreme.
  • @Crabwhale beat a raider to death with one hand as she carried her baby around. She had no weapon, she just strangled the poor guy. She then became addicted to blisscap mushrooms in the hospital and vastly extended her stay.
  • @Shadowslash125 had a mental break and stood over Pyotr, one of the android mercenaries we have with us for now, as he sat in a hospital bed waiting to be repaired, viciously insulting him. For about 8 hours. Put in a whole shift at the hater factory. After 8 hours, Pyotr got up from his hospital bed, initiated a social fight, where Shadow punched him in the head, putting him back in the downed state, causing the fight to end instantly.
  • @Armorchompy, whom I will remind you is a robot, successfully wooed one of the mercenaries staying with us, Alexis- specifically, the civilian attendant for the Lieutenant of the colonization forces staying with us. They're leaving (finally) in 1.6 days at time of writing, so... get it while it's there, I guess. Looking at the logs, Alexis actually wooed Armor, by comparing him to a "shining hemlock tree". Love is strange.
  • Juxtaposed against this is @Topaz404 who has rejected the lieutenant's attempts at relationship making 3 times according to the logs. Aloof. Stoic.
  • @Epiccheev tortured one of our prisoners. We removed their eyes, ears, nose, one kidney, one lung, and their heart. Life is cruel and we are rich. We sold the parts to a genetics merchant later on. I will make a habit of this.
  • We also harvested the reactor from a captured android. This kills the android, but it ensures life for one of our own androids. I am unsure whether to give it to @Lawiegg, our shooting specialist, or @Armorchompy, who is almost exclusively responsible for hauling all the stupid shit we have in this shindig.
  • @Phoenks' lab progresses smoothly, although I may have to give a dedicated building for it soon. The room is not large enough for the E.N.I.A.C.s which would finally boost his research speed over 200%. We're just now developing nuclear fusion, although it's worth noting that our technology abilities are scattered, and we don't know how to make scarecrows. Not that we need scarecrows. We tend to just kill any animals ******* with the Product. I just find it humorous.
  • Speaking of. We have an immense stockpile of psychoid. Like 3000 extra units of the stuff. Soon I'll need to build delivery vans so we can peddle this stuff out to the settlements. If anyone wants to volunteer as the drug runner, say aye.
  • The mercenaries finally ****** off. One of them had to crawl out, as they were still wounded- he bled to death on the map edge and was eaten by a panther. Life is beautiful. I had @PsychoWarper kill said panther to ensure man's dominance on the top of the food chain.
  • @Arceus0x is desperately attempting to maintain a hold on all of our farmlands. Even during the raids he's out there harvesting and planting. This occasionally necessarily demands that he fire on some guy crash landing into his psychoid crop via a drop pod, but such is the diligence nature demands from her attendants. Blessed be the crack cocaine farmer, for he is rich in spirit (and silver).
  • You stupid ******* cretins keep eating bad meals because you won't wait ten seconds for the good meals to be completed, which means the cooks have to divert attention away from cooking the good meals to re-stock us on the bad meals. ******* animals, you lot. Nerve wracking. I've chained Azure404 to the kitchen and built another stove just to keep up.
  • We had a bug infestation crop up in the mines but like. It wasn't that big and most of our miners are our heavy melee people anyways, so @DMUA and @Crabwhale and Llama just killed whatever came out of the ground, destroyed their nests, ate their jelly, and kept mining. It was almost the most convenient infestation I'd ever seen, with the exception that Hampter was shot in the head (non-lethally!) by a stray turret round. Fedoras are not (yet) bulletproof.
  • @Rakih_Elyan continues to be the most depressed ************. I am desperately feeding him tea and other non-drugs to try to improve his mood. His blood alcohol content is probably topping 0.6. Alcoholism will continue until morale improves.
My life continues to get busier, but I played some more. Nobody is dead yet, which I take to be a pleasant surprise. I think, despite our high tech options, I will build a small fleet of low-tech vehicles, like 1930s cars. Could be funny.

In this world you either smoke or get smoked

Depositing my mental break to this poor android. Works wonders.

"Look, im already busy managing these guys and making sure the annoyance doesnt snort, sniff, or smoke all our product. I can't commit to anything else." Golachab, probably

I know that's right.

You can restrict the meals we're allowed to eat.
No no, trust me, I'm aware, but I refuse to restrict simple meals. I'm already preventing you from eating all types of soup, lavish and fine desserts, vegetarian fine/lavish meals, and several types of bakes. Just stop eating the simple meals. You stupid clods.

It was almost the most convenient infestation I'd ever seen, with the exception that Hampter was shot in the head (non-lethally!) by a stray turret round.
He fits better and better with his mantle as time passes, I am truly proud

  • @FinePoint overdosed on yayo. Sick of this guy.
  • @Phoenks has been pried away from research temporarily to produce more yayo. Love this guy.
  • I made the decision that while a shooting specialist is valuable, it is more valuable to have @Armorchompy because he's actually willing to do general labor and can do so without sleeping. So he gets the reactor, we'll stow @Lawiegg in a closet somewhere until we can scavenge a reactor. @Topaz404 did the operation to cut out Armor's heart and replace it.
  • @PsychoWarper and @FinePoint started beating each other up at the dinner table. Somehow Point was getting in a lot more hits on Xol, but Xol was wearing proper armor and was not a wimp, so when he did hit, it hurt more. A lot more, in fact, because he mangled Point's eye beyond recognition. This will now cost us some fairly valuable resources to fix.
  • @FinePoint's sister visited the colony with some mercenaries interested in staying awhile. Not much else to report, just a rare familial link.
  • @Arceus0x developed a tumor in his torso due to the nuclear reactor he has in his stomach. Luckily we can just cut that shit right out of him. AFTER he harvests the Devilstrand 🫵
  • @DMUA created an excellent slate sculpture of a large cat (maybe a lynx?) falling into a pit. It has a whopping 1320 beauty, and is thus placed at the ugliest place in town- the Quarry, so as to prevent depressive thoughts in our miners (including DMUA). It took him about seven straight days to create with some assistance from @Armorchompy when Hampter was sleeping.
  • In a hellish sequence of events, we had an enormous Black Hive raid followed by an enormous Hive raid. There's bug guts all over the colony. The first one saw most of our melee line go down because I'm actively trying not to default to a killbox to win here. @Epiccheev was spared melee duty because somebody has to shovel the guts back into you ***** when you go down. Both @DMUA and Azure404 come within half an hour of death, but everyone survives the first fight. The second raid blessedly occurs almost in tandem with a trader group- unfortunately this group is incredibly poorly armed, but they are at least a distraction so our ranged fighters who aren't hospitalized (@FinePoint, @Shadowslash125, @Armorchompy, @Arceus0x, @Topaz404, @Rakih_Elyan, @PsychoWarper and even @Phoenks, because desperate times are a-calling) can fight them somewhat efficiently. I fear we're being outscaled by our raids and will need to consider some strategies to allow us to succeed going forward. Povar is immensely ****** up during the course of this fight and Shadow is knocked down; otherwise we live, albeit at the cost of some of our buildings. Rakhiel goes into a sad wander mid-fight because he wants drugs. I do my best to save the three survivors of the caravan, however during that fight Grey joined the battle and got beat up badly, so Topaz is our only trained medic. Point is therefore forced to perform battlefield triage with a whopping randomly generated medical skill of 2 and no passion. We save two of them, but Tobs, some sort of slug-person, passes away on the field.
  • I didn't notice until after the fight but they immediately ******* destroyed @DMUA's sculpture. I have replaced it but this time it was @Armorchompy who did the final bits of work on it, and I have moved it so it is somewhere farther from potential harm. This one is a statue of vampires playing dice, and is masterwork quality.
  • We spent all of our money on TWO "mono-buster blades". For the uninitiated, mono-weapons cut through matter on an atomic level, and thus have the greatest armor piercing in the game (something like 144% armor piercing). @DMUA gets one as he has the worst melee weapon of the group of people who consistently engage in melee (Llama has the zeus kanabo, Ceru has a titanium longsword, and Aetta-28 has a titanium zweihander); the other will go to @Epiccheev, who has still been rocking a serrated machete this whole time (its masterwork quality, but still, it's just a normal machete).
  • Some beggars left a child named Pantar on our doorstep before leaving, so we're "kidnapping" him to save his life, because he is starving.
  • @Crabwhale is now a psychic as well, the Warlord tree is simply too strong to not give to her. She isn't hugely psychically inclined (her armor buffs it a little bit), but it's so necessary.
  • @Topaz404 crafting is now becoming pivotal- before we would just occasionally get masterwork backpacks, now we can craft forcefields and post-industrial weapons. We're not far into high tech things, but he's our Gunrunner now.

Some would say that was deserved

Well, it seems im gonna have to be doing a lot more, also
Bugs, why did it have to be bugs?

Also wait Point did something that wasnt consume our supply and get his eye beaten out? Impossible-

sure you did, you beat the cancer :)

(most of your life is spent cooking and farming anyways, I'd say on average you tend to be in a better mood than most of the colony)
