Hey, greetings from Brazil
Idk why this idea came into my mind, ig i'm just fusing my most time-consuming activities atm (besides when i was beating Digimon World DS with a single digimon and Mandatory-Upgrades-Only Bakugan Battle Brawlers DS or developing a wall of text to disturb Reaper yet again with a Horus W)
I got inspired by TheBones5's FNaFlocke video and by the general concept of CarcinogenSDA's channel (both of which i recommend if you want to watch something lengthy)... and Pokémon Stadium... to create a challenge i could play on the long af bus before and after the work on my poor Self-CFW'd o3ds - the one in the title which idk if i call Pokélocke or Franchiselocke. Details on how my attempts went will be in the posts
As you can imagine, having a Gengar (quite hard to hide that it's my favorite one, though i'm not a "gen-oner") is quite an advantage, but i think the rest of the rules do more than just balancing out the advantages he may have, here they are:
You ever heard of Pokémon Stadium, where you beat the game a whole other time? I did myself a disfavor and did a similar system here
ROUND 1-

As you can imagine, having a Gengar (quite hard to hide that it's my favorite one, though i'm not a "gen-oner") is quite an advantage, but i think the rest of the rules do more than just balancing out the advantages he may have, here they are:
- Games must be played in the order i'll display in a bit, starting by Pokémon Red
- No Pokémon besides the Gengar i'm given in the start can be used in battles
- If a move like roar brings them up i gotta take them off. If any ability impedes it and it generates any advantage in the fight... reset.
- No knock outs. If Gengar's ever knocked out, i'll go back to the start of Pokémon Red
- No items in battle (held items are ok though)
- Gengarite is NOT allowed
- No heavy grind allowed besides the start of the game
- General level cap for the grind is at the 1st gym leader's pokémon - the lowest level one
- Great example of this is Pokémon Red itself, where it is VERY unlikely to win against lvl 12 Geodude and lvl 14 Onix with only attacking 35pp and being lvl 6 (unless we count Confuse Ray's RNG and this is N O T challenging, so a grind does seems worthy enough
- Save will be edited for me to have a level 4 Gengar, a lvl 1 Mew and a lvl 1 Ditto
- Gengar will have the moves his learnset permits up until this level, the IV spread to be shiny in gen 1 (and obviously be shiny, just because) and no EVs
- Mew and Ditto will have no moves outside of HMs
You ever heard of Pokémon Stadium, where you beat the game a whole other time? I did myself a disfavor and did a similar system here
