Be My Rimworld Pawns: Season 4

Judging by the post in question, I think my char doesn't hate DMUA,, so there's a plus for him.
He doesn't! Rare friendship opportunity for the staggeringly ugly dirtmole (I do think you're at like a -5 relationship; salvageable, but still)

Game just started and my guy is already crashing out. Incredible.

Also DMUA pawn looks dripped out why do we think he's offensively hideous 😭
most clothes don't add beauty (some do, his doesn't). You think he's staggeringly ugly because he chose that trait, so Hampter is, indeed, staggeringly ugly. I will probably replace his skin later to make him beautiful.

How many mfs in our group are ugly lol?

Just noticed Phoenk's pawn has dementia, and yet, still has the hightest intelligence. Welp.

Idk how he got dementia lol. I just put anxiety and PTSD 😭

  • Our first actual raid is against a group called the Mind Skinners, who are ferals wielding low-end industrial-age tech and armor. One of their members has the rank "bullet bait"- it is a child. This will be a fun playthrough. Only one of the ferals survived; @Topaz404 was shot twice in the torso (not badly wounded), otherwise no wounded on our side. War hero of the day is @Arceus0x who, despite being the least skilled of the lot, mowed down two of the enemies (as opposed to the one most of you got). Guns don't seem utterly worthless but I miss Combat Extended's system so much. Their armor isn't worth much to me but their guns outclass some of the ones we spawned with- Tommy Guns still trump AKs, by the looks of it, but I'd take an AK over a shotgun or a pistol that some of you are rocking.
  • Buncha ****** robots showed up. They're friendly, though. We sold them some of our recently acquired weapons (the Poor-quality stuff) and bought a book that gives shooting and social XP.
  • We had a pack of feral dark vandals (edgy, very strong lions) attack the colony and catch @Shadowslash125 outside; he managed to escape well enough to reach the rest of the colonists forming a firing line and even killed off three on his own, while escaping any and all wounds. I see this as an absolute win.
  • @Phoenks is a little freak who grabbed a meal from the freezer, walked around for awhile, and then returned to the freezer to eat the meal inside of it. There were chairs and a table perfectly available to eat at.
  • Because we lack a crematorium for now, @Armorchompy is stuck in a hell where he cleans the corpse-refuse of some of our slain enemies and then moves onto the next body in an endlessly cycling loop, because the corpses generate mess fast enough that by the time he's done with the last one, the first one needs cleaning again. I could create a corpse stockpile somewhere and just pile them up but there is a certain charm to watching him pursue this Sisyphean task until @PsychoWarper is done with the crematorium.
  • The first good friends of the colony are @Arceus0x and @Shadowslash125. They're both chefs so perhaps they bonded over a nice meal, who knows.
Zeus sent his agent (a drunk driver) to disrupt our conquest (Rimworld save) so I have no idea how much of the above still exists in this timeline.
Idk how he got dementia lol. I just put anxiety and PTSD 😭
It was the closest thing they had! I did my best.

How many mfs in our group are ugly lol?
Two 🫵

And how can one be so ugly that my minotaur ass is still prettier?
Handsome damn minotaur, 's what I say.

Gourmant trait go brr. Arceus0x my good friend (this is the first time we've interacted here).

Im the most dapper motherf'er in this colony, i can take a bullet or two

Similar sitch, different scale. Shake it. 🤝

Also DMUA pawn looks dripped out why do we think he's offensively hideous
He's an expy of a character that canonically looked like Jason M, and then Charlie Chaplin

To say; this

(Also I thought it would be very funny to have him just be atrociously ugly since he is a rodent person and it generally fits his deal)
Before he could finish the task of drinking it @DMUA sprinted in and slapped it out of his hands and made him snap out of it.
my goat...
Several people in the colony ******* hate @DMUA, such that they have a mood debuff of -20 (that's a very high number, for the unenlightened) called "My rivals are alive." It has the description "I hate them. Why should they deserve to live?" The only reason for this is that DMUA's pawn is staggeringly ugly.
It's more peak than I could ever imagine...
@DMUA was struck by shrapnel in his leg, but we started with a decent medical room so this won't be an issue. It did get infected but with good medical care from @Arceus0x and the room itself, DMUA was back up and running (walking, really) in short order.
The only possible way this could be more fitting is if his staggering ugliness got him banned from the hospital too

  • We didn't lose much progress to Zeus, mostly just some construction setbacks (hop to it, @PsychoWarper).
  • An imperial Praetor, apparently not recognizing that we are criminals, asked for safe harbor at our base. I said sure. I did the quest and had @Phoenks take the honor exclusively because he is neither abrasive nor psychically deaf. I have sincerely no idea what will happen when we try to cash in said honor, but we might be able to ambush a group of Imperials for psytrainers? We'll see! As a form of rebellion I had @Topaz404 **** up their shuttle that came by to pick up the renegade Praetor, putting it to half health before packing on the Imperial Scum and shipping them off.
  • We bought an old radio from an exotic goods trader in return for combat stimulants (we still don't have production down for that, these we looted from our enemies).
  • @DMUA has put himself into a coma for the last few days in some sort of weird fugue state/sickness I've not seen before. Presumably from a mod, it says he'll snap out of it eventually, it will just take a bit longer. But! He'll be all the better for it. While he's been in there, going through his social logs, he has mentioned the topic of Freedom to both @Epiccheev and @Arceus0x; they are bonding over this, possibly as a Helldivers reference.
  • A small raid from a faction called Thini drop-podded into one of our bedrooms (@Topaz404's bedroom, to be exact, where he was sleeping); six lightly armed fellows entered a gunfight with Topaz himself and whoever was around when they landed (@PsychoWarper, @Crabwhale, and Llama); Aetta-28 and Llama were laughably wounded, with both suffering about two dozen gunshots but both had decent armor so, not a major issue. Warper and Golachab suffered no injuries outside of the injury of pride caused by Golachab's ****** up room. A part of me would love to recruit the singular hostile survivor, a criminal priest bogleg with 17 social, but we have no place for prisoners just yet. So, death, I'm afraid. @Epiccheev cleaned up, both in terms of finishing off the crawling-away wounded and tending to our own bleeding colonists. What a saint.
  • @Arceus0x's girlfriend showed up with a caravan. She's a member of our faction, the Grand Cartel, she is a Saurid, and she has the Insatiable trait, essentially translates to her being a nympho polyamorist. I am unsure how this is even possible given that Arceus0x is Asexual; perhaps she just thinks she's in a relationship with him. Hard to say.
  • Our new Crematorium exploded (I forgot to put a roof over it; it is electrical, and it is raining) while @Armorchompy was using it. He's alright though.
  • Ah yes. Fan-*******-tastic. Yeah. Just... bring all the ******* elephants into the dining room. Super ******* chill. **** you.
  • Among others, @PsychoWarper immediately indulged in our looted smokeleaf supply and toked up.
  • When it's done, this place will essentially be part factory part lab; our production will be placed in here (I plan on having some supplies in the building itself and some in a warehouse across the way). It's taking forever, specifically with the nicer floors I'd like to have in so the place doesn't look ugly. People producing drugs should be permitted pretty floors.
  • The first masterwork of the colony goes to @PsychoWarper, who replaced @Topaz404's broken dresser with a masterwork one during a bout of Inspired Creativity. He titled the piece "Love Number 14" and it is engraved with artwork... relating to... the time people broke through Topaz' ceiling and tried to kill him. When the last dresser was destroyed. Funny how that works out, ain't it.
  • We bought something called an Assault Hammer that cost 1/3 the price of ultratech weapons like plasmaswords from a traveling combat supplier. I'm giving it to our best melee fighter, @Crabwhale; it has no special powers but it is a Spacer-designed sledgehammer and does good damage. Certainly better than the wooden baton she's currently using.
  • We have to pry @Phoenks away from the research table with a crowbar. He keeps passing out on it. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.
  • I didn't notice @Shadowslash125 had no work lined up for a full in game day and so he was just passing the time playing an arcade game for like 18 hours straight. If we keep this up he might invent powerscaling in-universe. What a dreadful thought.
  • Speaking of. The Best Friend Meter is maxed out between @Shadowslash125 and Eldritch, one of the non-VSBW colonists. I don't know what happened that they're holding hands and shit but apparently they had 12 deep talks lately. +100 relationship on either side. Very heartwarming.

When the animal skill works too well, you have elephants inviting themselves into the pantry just to eat with their herders.

He's going to powerscale the empire to death.

I have that friendship rizz on

Someone had to do it.

The ultimate inspiration, a near death experience.

  • We were attacked by an extradimensional warrior (based strongly on the Githyanki from D&D, called the Archons); only one and he was fairly unskilled, perhaps we were a training mission. @Lawiegg was nearly killed by him since, even though he lacked notable skills (4 melee no passion), he did have a forcefield and a devastatingly good archotech sword. We still killed him (@DMUA clubbed in the throat and he disappeared, counting that as a kill) but we didn't get his gear- he did drop extremely expensive alcohol and a pile of gold, though. On second thought that might have been a leprechaun. Anyways. The trouble with androids being wounded is that we lack the infrastructure to fix them currently, and with random research I have no idea when we'll get to it. So the neuro-loss for Lawiegg is permanent for now- he's functioning, just slower.
  • All of this transpired during a psychic storm (which I think is cool). Nothing else to note on that front for now, I just like to imagine astral warriors raid the material plane, and their coming is hailed by immense psychic disturbances in the region.
  • I haven't elected a Don yet (that is to say, faction leader), but Eldritch has been made into our Consigliere (moral guide) and @Lawiegg into our Assassin (shooting specialist). @Shadowslash125 will end up our Caporegime (or just Capo), functionally our de facto leader until I decide on which one of you people will be the Don- preferably a socially skilled Pawn with a mob-related backstory.
  • While workflow is in a lull (there's not much tasks to do for some of you currently), @PsychoWarper and @Crabwhale went to the quarry to try their hand at mining, only to be devastatingly mogged by @DMUA who mines like 3x as fast as they do. If Aetta was not planning Hampter's death previously, she surely is now.
  • @Armorchompy @Lawiegg and @Crabwhale spent a day "hunting" rhinos by following them in combat formation and blowing them to smithereens with Crab smashing their heads in if they made it to melee combat. I want to build rhino leather armchairs and while that may be the least moral reason for taking animal life, it is true. We want fancy shmancy digs for our rec room. The mafia deserves it. This did lead to all three of them getting fairly dinged up, so I won't be doing this again. But the rhino leather was probably worth the permanent (for now) damage done to our two androids. If nothing else... medical training for @Arceus0x and @Epiccheev.
  • @Topaz404 threw a small party to celebrate the survival (for now) of the colony. I tried to force @Phoenks to go but every time he just immediately returned to the research bench. It's like catnip to him. He can't help himself.
  • We accepted a contract from a band of mercenaries to deal with a pack of rabid aves (think chocobos, or cool ostriches perhaps); the leather from the creatures will be worth something to us, as I'm getting clothing production going (thanks @Topaz404, Executive Tailor), and the best reward was Goodwill and a masterwork ranged shield belt, which is a low-end shield belt that allows the user to still fire weapons out of it (normal shield belts don't allow this), so it's very valuable to us. As part of this we got control of 5 mercenaries who we had to feed and house, but could die in the battle without losing us our mission. One of them, the humorously named Paul Paulson, was a hussar with a whopping 16 skill in Crafting. So while we wait for the birds to come, four mercenaries are working on our warehouse and one is making us shoes and hats. He's technically not as good as @Phoenks but Phoenks has a hand gorilla glued to the research bench and has to be removed under threat of death, so Paul, son of Paul, will replace Topaz as the tailor for now.
  • Combat report: we won, with no deaths (although two mercenaries went down); turns out night aves shoot poisonous needles at people. Who knew. @Crabwhale, who had just left the hospital for treatment during the Rhino Thunderdome, was hospitalized again after face-tanking quite a lot of the attacks. @Lawiegg and @PsychoWarper stole many kills by right of being the two who were not involved in the combat, and thus were not wounded afterwards, who finished off the wounded enemies.
  • Our second bout of Sleeping Sickness this year incapacitates 25% of the colony, **** Randy Random. @Shadowslash125 expect little activity since the game has sentenced you to Sleepyime Junction indefinitely. VERY cool.
  • A lower-end feralisk attempted to hunt @Epiccheev, but Gray ducked inside fairly soon after, so it instead attacked @PsychoWarper, tearing up his arm pretty bad. I had a couple of you go out and help him out- he survived fine, no permanent injuries, so. Cool. @Topaz404 made the feralisk into shoes.
  • @Crabwhale as the sole female in the colony has done what I pretty much expected her to do, which is take a lover. It's none of you- it's the dwarf, Llama. To an extent this tracks- high social skill, beautiful, melee brawler with a talent for ranged that they don't use.
  • @PsychoWarper has our first ultratech weapon, a scatter charger. It's essentially a fast-firing energy shotgun. Not very Breaking Bad of us but then again our enemies are not merely DEA agents.

Hey, as they say, nothing should go to waste, and im gonna be shooting and killing something- i may as well make it into some damn good clothes for the familia. Sleeping sickness is unfortunate as hell (thanks Randy.)

Otherwise, seems to be going well. Gotta hope we can fix up the androids sooner rather then later

I forgor where or how it happens but we gotta start growing healroot ASAP for the future.
Get Phenoxycycline for boosting immune systems if possible.

  • We were attacked by "a powerful psycaster", Mikhail Cuevas, who wore Deserter gear and is a runaway noble of the Imperium of Kospos. If he wasn't Fanatically Loyal to his current faction, we might try to recruit him. We successfully fought them (thanks in part to a combat supplier in the area who fought half of them for us), @Crabwhale caved in his head and stripped off his armor, a set of Deserter gear. Aetta was slightly wounded by the shotgun blast (the psycaster had the same weapon as @PsychoWarper, in fact) but she'll survive. Unfortunately his gun is biocoded and thus valueless, outside of smelting it down for some plasteel maybe.
  • We were notified by a friendly faction that they had discovered some pristine ruins nearby. This is, in fact, Real Ruins, which means those ruins are the remains of another player's base. We're sending people via drop pod to the location since, even though they'll have to walk back, the ruins lose value the longer it takes for you to get to them, and more raiders are present; if we get there immediately, there's good odds of something extremely valuable from that person's run still being there. @Topaz404 is being sent along with Eldritch, since we can only send two.
  • Immediate update on that, there's zero ******* chance we're going to get everything of note out of here. I've never seen a base so loaded in one of these. Psychotic. Madness. After fifteen minutes of cheesing it, I have managed to destroy their turret array by peeking out and shooting before the turret's cooldown is done, then getting back into cover. Their turrets are ******* scary, in VSBW terms those things are probably 8-A. I know that there's more inside of this complex, as well, this place is ******* terrifying. I'm going to try to have one of you tame an animal to help carry stuff back.
  • Whoever they were, they were equipped for some seriously intense Mechanitor work. This is dozens upon dozens of high-end bandwidth increasing nodes, representing probably tens of thousands of silver worth of infrastructure.
  • Their throneroom situation must've been crazy. Everything is Awful quality but I wager it probably wasn't when they built it. Deconstructing it will take awhile but it would probably be worth it, that thing represents a few kilos of gold at least. To the right of that you can see a glimpse of a biolab they had set up, there's a couple dozen bionics in there of varying value and quality. Most are beat to hell but worth taking. The best treasure of the joint is still probably just from deconstructing the vast quantities of high-end technology, there's gotta be hundreds of advanced components invested in the infrastructure here. Topaz and Grave's expedition doesn't need to carry a lot of weight in order to get extreme value. To hell with the raiders who will attack us for it.
  • A short list of additional things found in the nooks and crannies of the place that aren't worth listing out: a luciferium vault (as in, complete with vault doors and lock systems), a massive classroom, an industrial-sized brewery, something called a 'synthetic nano printer', a prison guarded with a humorous amount of turrets (I opted to cut the power to them rather than try to cheese them, they were the smaller faster-firing ones), and about two dozen well-adorned bedrooms, fit with royal furniture. The expedition was a success but I have no idea what to do now that we've cleared the joint. Getting a pack animal shouldn't be too hard (this might take a couple days), there are alpaca around which we'll probably just butcher and eat when we get home. But I don't know what to take even with the alpaca. I want their whole base. I want literally every brick of the stuff. It's all valuable.
  • it has been four in-game days since my last update on this post. Little has gone on at the other base. @Topaz404 has tamed four alpaca (we WILL eat them, I HATE them). Golachab and Eldritch have feasted like kings on somehow unrotted meals and cocktails left behind by this fabulous bastion of intellect. They have deconstructed everything I think is worth deconstructing. I am ready to LEAVE this SHITHOLE. I should have sent more people. To leave 1,200 plasteel on the table feels like cutting my own arm off. This is torture. It's sinful. An advanced multi-analyzer! An infinite chemreactor! Almost 500 components! Gone! Reduced to atoms! I can't carry them, they're too heavy! We're taking nearly a hundred advanced components, a few hundred gold, a shitload of bionics, a handful of weapons (including a masterwork kinetic rifle, worth a shitload), some advanced armor, two vanometric power cells, a psychic emanator, few drugs (including the luciferium for emergencies), a few hundred hyperweave, bunch of eltex (read: psychic metal), a ******* mechlink they just had laying around... a thrumbo horn, and enough gourmet meals to get you two back to the safehouse.
  • An infested ship chunk landed and forced us to fight it. It went... poorly. @DMUA ate shit (his sole weapon currently is a knife, we need better shit pronto), whereas @Arceus0x once again pleasantly surprises (still out of sheer luck) and wracks up a couple kills without suffering any wounds. While Hampter was in the hospital I set him up with a cool industrial exosuit thing that will give him more carry weight and move speed; a lot of the other neat gadgets acquired from the Ruins were already snatched up by the other, non-hospitalized pawns.
  • We sold that eltex cache for a huge amount of silver (nearly six grand) to invest in our first Settlement. This will passively return us money, more and more the better we upgrade it. It's a major cost but these outlying drug production facilities are the key to one million, of that I'm sure. They also make sense in-universe- this one will create drugs and sell them to our network. The Mafia has to spread.
  • A prosthetics trader landed at our colony and was willing to buy some of the mechanitor chips we got from the ruins (I would like to get them through natural progression anyways); as a result, we could afford the neuro-cure framework he was selling, which fixes brain damage. @Phoenks now has a cure for dementia, we just need to get lucky and get the research necessary to actually use it.
  • @Crabwhale is a body modder without any bionics, so while she was in the hospital anyways I decided to install a breaching arm onto her, allowing her to punch down walls fairly easily and increasing damage dealt with her weapons. @Topaz404 did the operation and while doing so, insulted Aetta's body, which he was modifying. Humorous.
  • @Arceus0x got Inspired Trade due to a good mood. Unfortunately he is awful at social and this is worthless.
  • Guns are still a little sick with the Ideology stuff buffing them. This was, by points, the largest "raid" we've had so far, and the only notable wounds were friendly fire from @Topaz404's new gauss repeater. I need to get @Epiccheev something because I keep seeing combat with him and all he has is a dinky ass pistol and a club, we're still destitute for melee weapons.

Have you figured out where this comes from
Apparently its ******* base game? I swear to you I have never seen this shit before. It can only be gained in the tropics, but I've had saves in the tropics in the past. I can only conclude that Randy Random jacked up the probability before I could start getting you guys immune to disease, the bastard.

Uh, i think we've won- ah sure the colony wealth is going to be jacked to high hell, but we have WON! I think we've kinda outscaled the raids we can get with the weapons we have.

If nothing else... medical training for @Arceus0x and @Epiccheev.
