BAN-KAI! Bleach General Discussion

Reading "futatabi" in that sentence by Yhwach, I wouldn't translate it as "second time".

Futatabi usually means "again" as there are actually more proper and common words in Japanese for "twice, second".

It means again here.

i don't wanna force drama/conflict so you don't have to answer but is there anything wrong with Qliphoth interpretation? or is it another valid way of translating it?
You've regained it...
He doesn't translate "再び" in "再び取り戻したのは", this translates to "again/once more/a second time you've regained it", but as you can see Qliphoth just translated "you've regained it". Nothing inherently wrong with that, but you can see how that vitally leaves out important information from a strictly powerscaling perspective.

lov u bb,

"Again you've regained it..." and "A second time you've regained it" mean the same thing. Both say that this isn't the first time he's regained it.

"Again [Ichigo] regained [the powered enhanced and lost to defeat Aizen]" directly implies this isn't the first time.

Again means "once more" after all.

The usage of "again / futatabi" is not equivalent to "once more / second time" and more of vernacular usage.

To summarize Yhwach's line it basically means:

1) You raised your power to defeat Aizen.

2) You lost your powers to defeat Aizen.

3) You got them back again.

This is where I explain English now, "again" doesn't mean he got these powers back twice here. It means that it's in Ichigo's possession twice.

So, again he has those powers in him. Not that he lost them twice and gain them backed twice.

Yeah, going to have to side with Imade on this one. Contextually and grammatically, "again" makes more sense. Plus it doesn't break the scaling or narrative that way.

Agree to disagree.

取り戻した (being past tense) means "to have taken back; to have regained; to have gotten back; to have recovered".

"To get them back" or "regain them" or "take them back" or "recover them" is not the same as "having them twice". Yhwach is saying Ichigo "regained/got it back again" which is fundamentally different from saying Ichigo "gained it again".

Being that he is recovering/regaining the power enhanced and lost to fell Aizen again means he recovered/regained it once before.

It does not mean Ichigo has acquired said power twice, it is saying he's reacquired said power twice.

What if it refers only to Spiritual Powers in general, not as power level but as a status?...
That scan is a mess to use, since the semantic change every times someone try to translate It.

It is even useless for true shikai, since it is a lot stronger than everything Ichigo has ever achieved using Old Mang Zangestu statements, and we scale it using that so.

"The power enhanced and lost to fell Aizen" is rather specific, and brings direct attention to the power being elevated which would imply it's talking about power as in power level.

I think I should make things clear before stupidity takes over everything.

So first of all Arc, kill off that dumb Zangetsu Within theory

btw is there evidence for orihime's offensive abilities to scale to her defensive?
all of her power are based on her emotion/will etc. so her dura and healing is OP cus she likes to heal and protect

but her AP is trash cus she cant bring herself to hurt a fly unless absolutely necessary and even then she hesitates

Humans not having chakra before Kaguya was retcon in Boruto. Naruto told Kawaki everyone can use chakra, meaning Hagoromo "gave" access to humans instead of chakra directly. He taught them how to mix the two energies that make chakra. Amado said Ootsusuki go from planet to planet in the universe to drain it's chakra to upgrade themselves. Kaguya planted a tree on Earth for that purpose, so how come on there was no chakra in it? It contradicts the goal of the god tree fruit's purpose and lore that every planet in the universe has chakra. Kaguya wasn't the mother of all chakra. It's just a tittle given to her by humans. Kaguya was Isshiki's servant that betrayed him, wherever, Kaguya is a princess of Ootsusuki or princess by the tittle given to her by the human she married is another story.

i think this was the old seth video i was referencing 2017, did boruto retcon/mess with the chakra concept?
video tldr energy unequalise normal genjutsu won't work but mangekyou/kotoamatsukami can? cause they affect bijuu who have different physiology/mass of chakra way different to ninjas

hmmm
your thoughts?

man, when you don't know enough about a verse people can really make arguments sound good on any side
