I mean, the whole point of the gauntlet is to ease the stress off the wearer. You're basically asking if Thanos eating the Infinity Stones would have made it so that using them hurt him less than if he used them with the gauntlet.

Yeah but we've already established atleast with the mcu gauntlet alex could use it whenever he wanted because the damage it does to the user isn't enough to bypass alex regen. Theoretically alex could simply eat the mcu gems and use them interanally as long as they didn't atomize him.

Saying that no one's held the five gems without a form of gauntlet before as far as I know so it may destroy mercer but we simply don't know.

Depends on whether or not that has actually worked on Thanos himself (as in, if a teleporter was able to teleport the gauntlet off his hand). If it has shown that it hasn't worked on him in the past, then I'd say no.

The Precursors can leave as Space Ghosts and some Forerunners can resist transmutation and deconstruction tho, not to mention that Forerunners can technically resurrect by putting their memories as data and habitate another bodie or just navegate through data.
