A Problem with Dante's Sealing

So its recently come to my attention that there's a few problems with Dante's sealing:

  • Firstly, there is no technique called "Jackpot!" in Devil May Cry. "Jackpot!" is just a recurring phrase throughout the series. Nothing more.
  • There are two instances used to justify Dante having sealing, the fight with Arkham and the fight with Mundus.
  • Dante has also been argued as having sealing due to surpassing Sparda, who sealed Argosax, in power. Now there are several issues with this:
    • The first being, surpassing Sparda doesnt automatically give Dante sealing, especially when he's never shown it.
    • The feat of Sparda sealing Argosax is problematic as well. Sparda needed help from the Protectorate and the Arcana relics in order to seal him. He didnt seal Argosax on his own.
Overall, Dante has never displayed sealing on his own if at all, this should be removed.

Also Sparda needed the amulets + the sacrifice of a priestess + most of his power to seal temen-ni-gru away.

So yeah, not combat applicable.

Off-topic, but this not being combat applicable makes you-know-what even more of an outlier than it already was

I agree with this but how does it?

@Gargo

People used to bring up "sealing the human world" feats a lot when Kamiya's WoGs didn't do the job.

Im going to play Devil's Advocate here and bring up that Dante was weakened somewhat when Trish gave him her power.

But who's to say Dante if at full power couldn't have done it?

(Nevermind he never ever ever seals anything outside this one instance.)

Dante and Vergil didn't even kill Arkham, the game shows Arkham falling back into the human world and then Lady kills him while Sparda's power is put back into the sword now this is some form of sealing done on Arkham and the SoS since they both went back to their original place.Vergil saying that that was Arkham's dying words was just to sound cool.

And in the case of DMC1 Dante's sealing, moments before Mundus said Dante was weaker on Mallet Island or the Human world (although that was sort of retconned or ignored in later games) and after fighting Mundus and then getting nerfed of course he wouldn't have the sufficient energy to seal him, this is the same case for DMC3 Dante since he fought 2 fights back to back, of course, he wouldn't have the energy to beat and seal Arkham by himself.And the only thing that seems to be the problem with sealing is that it uses a lot of energy which is shown when Trish gave Dante her energy and Dante and Vergil sort of split the energy, not that he can't do it.
